The DJ, Rick, was the best that I have encountered. He was friendly, accommodating, experienced, and most eager to please our family in this special day. Service for drinks was like waiting to use the ladies room the line was out the door they had 1 bartender working an event for 150 people which wouldn't be bad if she could hustle but that wasn't the case. Food wasn't bad the turkey was processed like lunch meat it wasn't horrible but how much is a real turkey especially when your paying big bucks to use this place as your venue. Parking stinks not too many spots to park cars. There's also this creepy porcelain doll at the door.

The Inn that was included in our package was absolutely perfect (Topside Inn) in every way!! Beautiful breakfasts, concessions always available, a breathtaking view, Adirondack chairs, the smell of the harbor. PERFECT. && The Maine Wedding company itself, LOVE! Sally got everything prepared for us, from the photographer, the bouquet, to the beautiful ceremony we walked out to the harbor & had... we couldn't have been more pleased. Sally met & exceeded our expectations. The bouquet was exactly what we dreamed it would be, no worries on our end. The photographer (Leisha MacDougal) did a fabulous job & captured stunning moments in time at our ceremony & our special day from start to finish. If I could review A Maine Wedding with a higher score, I would. The wedding was a breeze & virtually stress free. Our day itself, with everything taken care of by A Maine Wedding was a dream come true!

This is an excellent museum which highlights Bath's proud history of shipbuilding in Maine…read more Although the admission fee is high ($20 or $22), it helps to support the volunteers and activities of the museum. We only had 2 hours available, so we focused largely on the exhibits. The museum includes various buildings which highlight different aspect of shipbuilding from caulking, blacksmithing, and building skiffs (modern day boats used to travel on Maine's coastal waterways). We loved the exhibit on lobstering in Maine - with superb displays that showed why Maine's lobsters are prized worldwide (they have the best claw meat), and a colorful display of buoys and traps. Talking with volunteers about the art of woodcarving and building skiffs was very interesting. It was cool to see the flagpoles (representing the Wyoming schooner) and Bath Iron Works in the distance (a current shipyard for the U.S. Navy). Since we only had 2 hours available from 10am-12pm, we could not join the afternoon lighthouse cruises (which looked like fun). Overall, we enjoyed our visit to the Maine Maritime Museum! You'll learn a lot about Bath's proud history of shipbuilding and the tradition of lobstering in Maine.

I have whiled away more than one afternoon, watching the beautiful Kennebec River and all the wildlife from the grassy shore. This Museum is so much more than a museum; it's a celebration of Bath's relationship with the sea. If I could give this more than 5 stars, I would!

They went above and beyond to make sure all the details were taken care of. We ordered surf and turf and raw oysters as appetizers - it was all delicious. Leslie and the staff were attentive to our needs during the dinner and made sure to check-in when necessary to make sure everything was to our liking. Organizing the dinner with Leslie and Sara was also very easy and they were both very professional. I would highly recommend their services!

The place has apparently gone through a couple ownership changes since our last visit. The vibe is still good and we enjoyed our visit, but a little of the shine we used to enjoy has diminished. The Broad Arrow Tavern, long one of our favorite places to eat, is no longer there and a sign hangs on the door advertising meeting space available. The front desk staff were polite and efficient, but not particularly warm or welcoming. Afternoon tea is still served, but the offerings aren't as robust as they once were. You have to request in advance fresh towels and room cleaning, which isn't a big deal if you know that (returning after a day out to a messy room with damp morning towels still on the floor is a disappointment). Still, we had a good visit and enjoyed our stay.

The heirloom tomato salad was the best. The arugula has a nice taste to it along with the layer of ricotta cheese under it all. The flavors really blended well with this dish. Considering we were planning our wedding in Maine at a handsome distance, I thought our partnership went particularly smoothly. Early on I shared Pinterest photos with Joanne and she was able to look over those and make her own suggestions based on what she had available in her own garden and what was easy to procure from wholesalers. When I finally got the chance to visit Joanne's design studio in person, I was astounded by her beautiful garden (from which she cut flowers for our wedding!) and discovered that she had a gorgeous twig-style arbor available to rent. We had a ceremony site that was not very official looking, so it was the perfect addition! Joanne designed a gorgeous piece of greens and flowers to attach to the arbor as well. Our bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres, centerpiece flowers were all impeccably selected and arranged. Everything she created exceeded my hopes and expectations. On the weekend of the wedding, Joanne was punctual and communicative! She delivered the arbor the day prior to the wedding and made a second delivery on the day of the wedding. We really could not have been happier with her beautiful design work. If there was one wish, we wished that either credit cards or PayPal transfers could have been an option for payment. Most of our vendors in this part of Maine only accepted checks and we really got tired of floating checks all the time. This is a minor quibble though, and does not impact the gorgeous work she produced!

We chose her to be our florist for our wedding day because her website portrayed beautiful flower arrangements, and what seemed to be a professional business. Our experience was far from that, though. Throughout the planning process it was very difficult to meet with her, and once we did, she didn't have a portfolio, or actual flowers for us to look at to understand her vision. Between that meeting and our wedding day we were looking to reduce the cost of the flowers (we were being charged over $3k!), however she would not work with us or budge a single cent. She even accused us of overspending somewhere else in the budget, which was far from the truth. Who says that to a customer?! On October 4th, 2014 Joanne was nowhere to be found 2 hours, 1 hour, and then even 30 minutes before the ceremony was to begin. After many attempts to reach her by cell phone, we were expecting no corsages or boutonnieres for grandparents, parents, groomsmen, or my groom. I had bridesmaids building makeshift bouquets to walk down the aisle with, and we had no centerpieces on our tables at the reception. To say I was devastated is an understatement. Finally, the arrangements arrived 15 minutes before I was to walk down the aisle - corsages and boutonnieres were applied after everyone had already been seated - embarrassing, and we were married outside on a beautiful, misty, fall day at Sugarloaf. To this day Joanne has yet to apologize or tell the truth for her extreme lateness - she promised us she would arrive by noon. She never even delivered the ceremony flowers, it turns out she left them at another location on the mountain without telling anyone. So now here I am a few months later still waiting for an explanation, an apology, and a refund. Do NOT use Gilmartin Design for your wedding day, unless you want excuses, stress, tears, and to be made to feel like it's your fault for someone else's mistakes. This company is unprofessional, and does not put the customer first. No bride should have to worry, or deal with this on her wedding day.
