He then took me out for the initial go-through with the approach of "I'm not going to teach anything right now: just show me what you think a golf swing is." From there he observed and, from there, gently introduced the concepts of proper swing mechanics, by way of completely relatable real life anecdotes. Just an awesome experience, so much so that I plunked down for the 6-for-5 lesson plan. At Golf Learning Center, there is ZERO pressure, ZERO judgement and ZERO intimidation, and I could not dream of a more perfect way to start my journey into this beautiful game.

They host dinners every Friday night. You can rent the place for only $60 for the whole day as a member. There is a billiard room upstairs with 6 pool tables and all the equipment to play. There is a card room to play bridge, poker or cribbage. The basement has a 5 lane candle pin bowling alley. No bowling shoes required and you can reset your own lane as you desire. The upstairs is an open room that we enjoyed wonderful music that was provided by our hosts. There was a huge space for all the dancing. The front entrance was setup like a lounge with comfy couches and deep soft leather chairs. Our hosts held a BBQ and they provided a the delicious food. They even brought in a bartender who provided soda beer and a variety of mixed drinks. This was a great place to mingle and relax. What an awesome club!!

The facility is for disc golf, but don't be fooled- they serve the BEST smoked brisket in Maine- and I can say that because I'm from Texas, and have made it a point to visit nearly every "bbq" place in Maine. Seriously, the places in Portland don't come close to this- not even in cooking process. All together we had three brisket sandwiches and fries, and an order of chicken tenders and fries- all of the food went down quickly, and everyone loved it. The owners are kind and pleasant people- the husband is a Navy veteran too! I absolutely will return here and I highly recommend you visit too!
