Grayson has behavioral issues and can be reactive, so I was nervous about his first visit. I shared my concerns ahead of time, and everyone made us feel welcome and cared for. Alex let me collect Grayson's urine sample, which I really appreciated. Savannah, his vet tech, was amazing with him--she made him feel safe, and he absolutely loved her. Would never take a fly here again. They charge for anything and everything besides what you came there for; took my dog for a surgery and he ended up getting mrsa, this vet ignored all the signs after multiple times coming into the hospital. Prescribed multiple meds my dog was resistant to. Every visit was $500 and will charge for everything besides testing that works because they want you to keep coming to put money in their pocket. This review comes personally & professionally as I am in medicine 32 years. I was a client of Dr. O'Brien's specifically for 3 years with my 2 purebred Siamese cats & I left permanently for continual failure. I trusted Dr. O'Brien with the lives of my children. First off, this clinic is highly over priced, money driven. 2 years ago, I was asked by Dr. O'Brien to prepare the history of both cats in a book and her technician will call me 3 days before the appointment to get the information so Dr. O'Brien could read everything ahead of time (it never got read in full, clearly by multiple issues missed on many appointments including a mass). In addition, I arrive an hour early, every visit to give the technician that black book and they go and give it to Dr. O'Brien to review "again". My cats have NEVER been examined in front of me. They are always taken away from me, to the back for sometimes for 2 hours. Every time Dr. O'Brien comes in the room to talk to me, she forgets serious issues she supposedly reviews and I have to constantly remind her of things she forgets. She has missed anal gland swelling, she missed what she called a 'skin tag' that was there for 3 years on her paw that turned out to be a cyst that had to be surgically removed recently. It was cancerous and it sat there all this time. In February 2025, I brought her attention to a small pea size hard lump near a nipple that she missed during her "supposed" examination during wellness checks. I asked her then, to remove it and she said no it is a inverted nipple or hair follicle that she would look at it when I come back in 6 months. Many lab values were elevated and she told me over and over do not worry about it, it is fine. (However my current new veterinarian said there has been an upward trend, it is it not fine and should not have been ignored.) I came back on August 15th 2025 and the mass grew to the size of a quarter from February. I gave her 15 minutes to remember the mass and yet again, she forgot. Yet again, I had to remind her to check the mass! She then jumped to her feet and had me hold my baby up and she is looking near her stomach, she did not even remember where it was located nor did she look at her own notes. Dr. O'Brien immediately said "oh my this has to come out, I do not like lumps on animals" meanwhile when I asked her to remove it in February it should have been removed! Pathology came back it is mammary cancer!! You never give vaccinations of any kind when an animal is sick or has abnormal blood work especially elevated kidney, liver and pancreas. Both my cats had all 3 elevated and one had loose stool. The technician Rivera, told me they will not get the rabies vaccination. Dr. O'Brien vaccinated both my cats and threw her senior technician under the bus by telling me in snarky tone "Rivera just told you that to appease you, he knows how you are" Dr. O'Brien vaccinated them when she should not have and let Rivera take the fall. I could not believe my ears. Employees told me privately that 100% Dr. O'Brien does not read my black book, just skims it, and her lack Professionalism, is proof of that. Dr. O'Brien surrounds her life with radical social media presence, living on live videos, photos, all day, every day, before work, during work, after work and weekends. Bragging about herself, her practice, her perfect life, God, motivational speeches etc. I never found this appealing or normal for a DVM/Owner to do on the daily. If you look at 50 other veterinarian websites, you will NOT see this kind of behavior from a Doctor whatsoever. The bragging and endless sales pitches. This is like a celebrity status, needing the camera trying to sell and prove herself. It is such a turn off and ever so unprofessional. If this practice spent a lot less time all over social media and more time actually letting the care speak for itself, you would have not missed multiple things including a mass that is cancer and you can't change that!! This is not saving lives at all! I trusted you with my children and you failed them and you failed me. read more

More about money than the animal. I had an issue with my dog and brought her in. The staff went to lunch when I had arrived, I waited about three hours for them to get back so they could not even look at my dog. (She's aggressive, not their fault, but they could have at least examined her while I had secured her with my body.) Basically, I ended up having a doctor just talk about my dogs problem and I learned absolutely nothing new and was told to go to her original surgeon. I was charged $86 to talk about our problems with nothing of substance done and nothing mentioned that I haven't already thought of. A giant waste of time, would have been ok if they had said "Sorry we couldn't do anything for you, its no charge", but no. I got a "Sorry we can't do anything for you, that'll be 90 bucks". WOOF. Classless. I wont be returning or suggesting them in the future. I understand that businesses need to make money, but it was clear that it was more about the money than the animal. My friend took her black cat there for constant itching . Vet tech loaded the cat up with expensive antibiotics and steroids . Itching continued . Brought get back given more expensive antibiotics . Itching continued . Took cat to different vet . That used flea comb , and discovered the cat had fleas . Maricamp stated emphatically the cat didn't have fleas which was why the cat needed these expensive antibiotics and steroids . With the new vet meds were administered for the fleas and the cat's fine now . When Maricamp was contacted to be advised of their mistake and to request a partial refund for the very expensive and very unnecessary antibiotics and steroids Maricamp refused to do to correct their mistake or make restitution . I am very DEMANDING and will write it the way I see it..Today I went to Maricamp Animal Hospital to have a 'WELLNESS CHECK' for my 2- 5 year old "Shorkies". I am retired and live on a budget so was CONSCIOUS of costs ... they were very careful with me and offered me different services and told me which each would cost WITHOUT MAKING ME FEEL I needed to spend a FORTUNE. They LOVINGLY took my fur babies from me and came back after a while and said "they are PERFECT". They were so excited to let me know that and I am so EXCITED that my babies are HEALTHY... It is important for me to remember my duties as an owner...catching an illness BEFORE it goes too far is SMART...and also these folks are AVAILABLE year round so we came up with a plan for them...to keep them PERFECT. We went over heart-worm medication, flea control and I was PROUD that they looked so HEALTHY as they get TONS of exercise: chasing squirrels at Lettie Towles DOGPARK 5x week and our 2 mile walk EVERYDAY. I was concerned that Abbey might have an ear problem...but we DETERMINED she just liked to get EAR RUBBIES...LOL I have the utmost confidence in Maricamp Animal Hospital. 5 1/2 years ago I lost my beloved Shih-tzu "bunni" to congestive heart failure and went to at least a DOZEN different vets trying to get the best treatment. Maricamp was the ONLY PLACE I found that knew about Vetmedin, (Pimobendan) Pimobendan is used in the management of heart failure in dogs, most commonly caused by myxomatous mitral valve disease, or dilated cardiomyopathy...NONE of the other clinics recommended this and it is proven to lengthen the life of dogs like my beloved "bunni"..we got her on it and she lived for another year and I felt I had done EVERYTHING for her I could possibly do. I ended up going to Maricamp Animal Hospital unexpectedly because my dog was having a severe respiratory crisis. They were the closest vet to where I was at the time and they immediately saw him due to the severity. Dr Otero and the entire staff were wonderful, and we have since switched to Maricamp for primary veterinary care. My lab got his head slammed in the door oof my mobile home because he doesn't listen and likes to be independent. He was told not to follow the other dog outside but did it anyway so as I closeD thE door his head got slammed in the door jam. Needless to say he eNded up with a hematoma which began to bleed. I took him here anD they were amazing. The Prices were reasonable. They were very thorough and did not offer things Caramelo did not need. The keep in touch with the owners via text and even send photos to let Us see our pet's progression on their wAy too recovery. We will be traveling out of state and wanted to make sure I had a scripts to purchased the dogs food.. They called me and said scripts were written and ready to pick up. What's most important for me, I reflect when choosing a Doctor is, how I feel with the Doctors. So I do the same with my pets. They're comfortable with the Doctors and the staff. Polite gal answered their phone. Told her I was worried because my toy poodle sounded congested in his nose. Explained to her that my only income was disability, which wasn't much. I have a disease which to I makes it impossible to work. She said she would give me a "Wellness Exam" for half price which was $30. At the clinic I was told that my dog didn't qualify for a "Wellness Exam" because he had a health issue. (seemed to me they should honor what their employee told me. Perhaps their staff needed more training? ) So the charge was now $60. They also sent me home with 1/2 of the antibiotic I would need for 14 days. Total bill came to $260. We won't be returning. I also informed them about my dissatisfaction with the visit and why, they made zero effort to improve their lack of customer service. Adopted a one year old kitten from the shelter, previously been treated with an upper respiratory infection by the shelter and their vets, he was cleared to adopt, took him home he was sneezing and open mouth breathing. This hospital was on the list of hospitals that would take a free visit if it was within the week of being adopted, I took him the next day. Got told my bill was going to be about 500 dollars and then was asked what my budget would be. Felt very pressured to add services on. My cat was given dewormer and when I was asked was right before the vet tech put it on. Interacted with the vet for about 5 minutes and the rest of the advice came from the vet tech. I got charged for a visit that was supposed to be free and eventually got refunded and they tried to give me supplements that the shelter said they would supply, didn't send me home with any medication. After my cat being deemed healthy I took him home, and 3 days later took him to my regular vet, who prescribed antibiotics, and steroids. Took my beautiful dog in i just recently adopted due to needing a checkup n wanted to make sure he's healthy n to get him on some well needed flea meds as i have cats outside n they can cause fleas n didn't want my new fur baby getting any even though he is inside i have caught a few on my socks just being outside a short time..Long story short a quick 60 dollar checkup turned into a $300 fiasco..first off cant go in an be with pet to see if they are doing really anything at all .told to come back two hours .call put on hold waiting in parking lot . someone plus 2 cant freaking understand talks to me because of there accent an was told me my boy is needing antibiotics for a skin infection n told has tape worms n put him on all kinds of crap an a $28.00 bottle of 6oz shampoo for his dry skin .lied about several things just to charge me for unnecessary things n when i put in his prescription for his flea med at chewy they denied it twice saying they had to see my dog again to determine his skin condition so i called them an i was told POINT BLANK he does in fact need his flea medicine but if i didnt come back in to the office so they can charge me another 30 is what she said for what i said he is great just needs his meds for fleas ..she said oh yes we will keep denying you but you are more then welcome to buy his meds through us an it would be faster because you will be blocked from chewy if you keep trying an we deny his prescription..i talked to my husbands boss at chewy an you are being investigated as we speak .Im not the only pet owner to have trouble with you crooks..Thanks for nothing Assholes read more

I personally have to let everyone know what happened to my pet Molly at this facility. Been going here for about 2 1/2 years. My husband and I took my dog (Molly) because we knew something was wrong with her. She was almost 15 years old. Best dog ever. She was my everything to me always by my side. Because of the covid 19.. I could not go into the building. They came out to get her to run some test. Had to speak to the doctor over the phone. It wasn't good news. Doctor said she could operate but she may only live for 4 or 5 months. So my husband and I decided that we didn't want her in pain. So we told her verbally that we wanted her back. They brought her out to say goodbye but I tried very hard not to show her how upset I was for her. My heart was breaking It was hard enough that I couldn't go in to be with her when they put her down. They of course had to collect for the bill which was over 700.00 but I would of paid more if needed. If they got there payment why didn't someone ask me what I wanted. I was so distraught I didn't look at the bill at all. This happened on May 1. On Wednesday I called to see when I could get Molly's ashes back and they told me she was cremated (communal) I was devastated. I told her that is not what I wanted. It was like I lost her all over again. I know for a fact after speaking with one of their employees that they should of asked me if I wanted private or other and no one did...because they go over your bill with you and no one did that either. They were negligent for what happened. I did get in contact with a lawyer on this matter. I did try and talk with them to get some kind of compensation for what happened to my Molly but it was over and done with for them. It is never going to be over for me.You all know that your pets are like family. The pain is unbearable. I have cried for weeks over this and sleeping is very hard for me. I miss her everyday and will never forget this ever. She was supposed to be with me. This has been so so hard for me. Would never take my animal there again. We have been with them for years. I trusted them with my dog even after we had a bad kennel experience. After treating my dog's eye ulcer he scratched it. I was told on Saturday his eye would have to be removed period. No options, no referral to dog ophthalmologist. They scheduled surgery for early Monday morning. We had no time to get a second opinion. We decided to cancel late Sunday night and be sure we really were optionless. The next day another vet checked him and referred us to eye doctor. It turns out we had three options. Corneal grafting surgery was scheduled the very next day to save his eye. Mad dosen't begin to describe how betrayed we feel. Go somewhere else. Terrible place to take a pet. All about sales and money not if your pet could be traumatized by tests not needed. The owner miss diagnosis of my dog cost me over 900+ as she ended up at the ER after the disappointing care. The ER vet even said in notes don't do another test. ER said they wouldn't have done that but a cheaper thyroid test. The owner didn't even have the guts to give me the news herself that I had wasted my money they sent another vet in so I never even saw the owner again and that vet wanted to do more testing on my pet and when I said no I can't afford it. I was told by a tech male don't you want the best for your dog I was so insulted. I think they really take advantage of especially the elderly. Main thing is my poor dog had to go through anything with these people I would never trust them again with her and now anytime she goes to a vet she has anxiety disorder panic attacks which she never had going to any other vet before. I also asked for her records and it took months to get them. They also lie about how long it would take to do surgery as one vet I took her to said just to remove two tumors would take two hours and their tech told me when they gave me a $1800 bill to do all her tumors and dental etc. just take a couple hours so glad I went with my gut on this and said no. read more

I have two Golden Retrievers, life long (9 years now) sisters from the same litter, very different in appearance from fur and color as well as temperament - personality. Over the years MAH has boarded and treated these dogs for everything from cancer to hypothyroidism. You pay for what you get so there is expense and they insist upon routine physicals and are vigilant about shots. These people are skilled, trained professionals and set high standards of care. Always pleasant and welcoming I value the treatment my dogs receive there. They have been especially supportive of my dogs remaining at ideal weight - something you don't always see among Goldens and they suffer if that is let go. I suppose the fuss and welcome Lily and Faith receive there is standard procedure - I love to see it and my dogs swear it's mutual. Honest. Bottom line: if you don't wish to pay for top quality animal care delivered by true professionals, you might save a little elsewhere. To me and my dogs, it's priceless and we value it every day. Took my two dogs here for boarding about a week ago after Belleview Veterinary Hospital refused to board my dog, Maya, who has been their patient for almost two years. Their reasoning was because she was fearful of the staff and they felt like she was too much of a risk. It hasn't been easy since we adopted her from abusive owners when she was 9 months old and we've been through countless trainers and programs trying to help her in anyway we can but after our own vet refused to board her we were completely crushed. Running out of time and options we came across Maricamp Animal Hospital and after reading their reviews decided, why not. We gave them a call and the lady on the phone was very helpful and assured us that they would help us in anyway they could. When we arrived the entire staff was very professional and personable. They squeezed us in as new patients with what seemed to be a very full schedule. After explaining our situation with the tech she assured us that they would never refuse to treat or board our dogs and that we had nothing to worry about. When we picked up our dogs the tech said that she had no problems with Maya and that she even calmed down enough to where they were able give her a bath and trim her nails. This place is amazing! My dog was to have an Ultra sound while she was under the Anesthesia. I was called and told the vet to do this was not coming in (I made this appointment 10 days in advance). Was asked if I wanted her teeth cleaned instead? Which she had done six months before. That's when the light bulb went off and I realized what this practice was ALL about..... We just wanted to formally give Maricamp Animal Hospital and huge "thank you" ! The staff there is amazing. Elle, the receptionist was great. Dr. Kathy Otero took the cake though. She gave me false hope and sent my cat home with no help, essentially to die and that he did. I brought my cat in severely hurt and all for five hours he just sat there. I was called to pick him up, when I seen him he was the same exact way I brought him in, still hurt! I was told to just give him pain meds, which we did and the next morning we found him dead. We brought him to you for help and all you did was tell me that I was not willing to pay enough to keep him alive so you can only do so much. She killed my cat and now all we can do is think, "what if we took him some where else? Maybe the they would've been more willing to him! Maybe he would still be alive! " read more

My cat got sick very suddenly, and they were able to take her in the day we called. We had to put her down that day. Everyone was very comforting and sympathetic. The vet gave us time to spend with my cat before we had her put to sleep. She gave us waters, tissues, and lavender moist face towels. She gave us a hug and walked us out to our car.
