This is now The Plumbers - same tel and address as the Maricopa Mountain Plumbing. We used them back in 2015 and thought the service was great. We called them again Nov 2023 for shower filter cartridge replacement. Two people came, 1 male and 1 female, and they said they have to buy the parts. They came back and replaced the cartridge for less than 1 hour and charged us $275 without any details on the receipt except shower cartridge replacement. We thought the charge was very high especially since they didn't explain what was wrong, what they replaced, and the cartridge is 40$ on amazon. We paid didn't have the chance to ask the details about labor cost and materials. I called and left a voice mail and requested a call back for breakdown of the charge. They didn't call me back. The shower was fixed but I had a feeling of not fair trade after they left. The most important thing is that trust feeling as a customer that a fair trade of payment and services occurred, as an example, the people we like to work with again would explain what they did, will have an itemized listing of what was done, would explain what will happen and roughly how much it would cost before they start the work, so there is transparency in everything but sadly, none of those happened and I didn't feel the trust and fairness after the service. read more

This entire review is simply my opinion of the experience I had with this company on 1/27/16. The short version, my house went on the market and sold within days. The inspection was scheduled in a few days and I had three MINOR plumbing issues which needed to be addressed. But for lack of the proper tools I could have done it myself. Two service men arrived, I showed them the work and the supplies I had in place. The apparent supervisor had an agitated look on his face and I can only speculate that he was frustrated a few opportunities to pad the bill so when I asked for the estimate he gave me what I considered a wildly unreasonable quote for labor of $230 and a few parts. When I questioned his bid pointing out it was pretty easy work that wouldn't take long he became aggressive and loud. As I was kinda in a spot, I told him to go ahead with the work and that for the remainder of his time on my property I expected to be spoken to in a professional manner. I allowed the second tech into the house to do the work needed, wanting Mr. Smart Mouth to remain outside. The conversation with the second tech was pleasant. The work was done to my satisfaction and took about 30 minutes. Now the average rate for a plumber is about $65/hour. How was it that for one hour of labor I had to pay $230? Is this reasonable? In my opinion, it isn't. The topper was after paying Mr. Smart Mouth (outdoors) and the work was done I was in my house feeling gouged but glad it was over. I turn a corner and there is Mr. Smart Mouth in my hallway. No ringing of the bell, no permission to enter... He said he wanted to make amends and to be honest I was not interested in the least. He said he had called my real estate agent and was offering me $21 back. WHAT? You called my real estate agent to tattle? You 5'5" (ish) little bundle of aggression, act all dominant and at the end of the day you are about as tough as little girl. Amends were not made. It isn't just about money. I don't take being spoken down to by anyone let alone a humonculus that I am paying. My suggestion, learn some ethics and when being a bully doesn't pan out for you try some manners. read more

I used Maricopa Mountain Plumbing to install a salt water softener and RO filter system. When installing the RO filter, the plumber John cracked the granite counter top, blowing out a chunk of granite adjacent to the sink. He claimed it's never happened before, and must have been a defect with the granite. AFTER he cracked the granite, he wrote on the receipt "Not liable for granite". Unfortunately you can't leave "no stars". They must have a large family in Maricopa that explains any positive reviews. I was in a pinch with time and ignored the pattern of negative reviews that they've received recently. I realize that nobody calls a plumber or gas repair when things are working, so let's be clear - this is not a negative review because I don't like their advice. I also don't expect unicorns pooping rainbows in a customer service interaction, just professional advice delivered politely and without a heaping dose of contempt and without a superior and dismissive attitude. We have a gas leak in a concrete gas firepit and had southwest gas turn it off last night. "John" and a young assistant arrived and glanced at the firepit from 20 feet away and in a mocking tone said "well, you're moving to wood" and snickered. He then went on to share how there's no way it can be fixed. At this point he hadn't even looked at it, hadn't determined if it was a simple leak in the exposed pipe etc.. The young fellow working with him looked unbelievably nervous. My response was "would you mind actually looking at it"? Although he seemed offended that I asked him to do so, he did look at it, but offered no constructive options on repairing/replacing or even isolating the firepit from the pool, just a "you shouldn't have built it this way" and that everything would need to be taken apart (damaging the pool and taking the deck apart). He didn't try or suggest anything that would help diagnose or clarify the extent of the problem, and didn't even pressure test the line. He was rude, disrespectful and frankly quite intimidating. I asked him to leave as I was feeling very uncomfortable around him. I would not feel safe having John in my home and was very thankful that I had a friend that overheard the entire interaction and remained present during his "consultation". I did call the company (I think John is the owner/one of the owners) but thought they should know - their response was that he's actually quite nice and the young employee with him didn't think John was rude. I expect he wouldn't have a job for long if he was truthful in how John treats clients. My advice - avoid Maricopa Mountain at all costs, if you DO decide to allow them into your home, make sure there is someone else present. UPDATE: John from Maricopa Mountain isn't just rude, he also doesn't appear to know what he's talking about. He told me I had a problem that required dismantling the firepit, pulling up my deck and potentially damaging my pool. We had Millenium Gas out of Gilbert here for less than 1.5 hours and they had everything up and running with no mess/fuss. The problem was a small one notwithstanding John from Maricopa Mountain telling me I had to dismantle my entire yard. read more

Don't use Maricopa Mountain Plumbing!!!! The worst customer service I have ever experienced. I was told that my sink was fixed only to have it back up the first time the it was used. John said he would go out the next business day. However, at 7 am I got a text message saying, "I'll be there tomorrow. Something came up." When John called I was told that the clog "is not my fault." When I spoke to the office, I was told, "unclogging sinks is not guaranteed." The owner, Bob gave an insincere apology. We have used Maricopa Mountain Plumbing in the past and have had good results. We thought we needed a new water softener and had contacted two other plumbing companies (who shall remain nameless) and asked for quotes. Neither would quote prices over the phone and one said that they would charge us about $50 just to come to our house and present their products. When I called Maricopa Mountain Plumbing, they not only quoted prices over the phone, but the office manager, Pam, said she would send tech to check to make sure that we actually needed a new softener. John and Eric showed up right on time, checked the water hardness and the water softener and told us that our current softener was working fine and we didn't need a new one. They did make a minor adjustment on the system AND they didn't ever charge us for the visit!!! In our experience, this is a great company and John and Eric were very friendly, professional and told me how to check the system to make sure it was operating properly. Do not use this company. When bob worked there they were great. Now they won't call you and told me in aug that they would repair my gas line in sept. Never called me back so in oct I called was told they would called me the next week never called. So I called them back and they said they were not allowed to work in my area. They do good work, but their business acumen "sucks" We manage many properties for out of state buyers. WHO All "pay their bills" but maybe can't be contacted at the WHIM of MMP! BUT for MMP to start a job, and then demand IMMEDIATE payment, while On the JOB, not yet completed, smacks of "hostage take-over!" That should have been disclosed when confiming the job estimate and scheduling! NOT when they are on the job and have started the work. I have used Maricopa Mountain Plumbing since 2012. I have had several things done around our home in Maricopa including a water softener and always feel like the price is fair and the work is done professionally. I purchased a home in Gilbert and needed work done yesterday and as usual my husband contacted Maricopa Plumbing and asked for our go to guy - (Eric) who is always a pleasure to work with. The job was done fast,and for a fair price and with a smile. We have granite being put in soon and we already plan on having Eric come and uninstall the old sinks and he will reconnect all of the new sinks/faucets, and put in a new garbage disposal. If you have a plumbing issue or need something new added like a water softener contact them and ask for Eric. Eric is honest,fast and fair. Maricopa Mountain Plumbing is one of the most honest and professional companies I have worked with here in Maricopa since we moved into town. I recently purchased a home and the home came with a water softener. The softener started to leak so I called the number on the softener and got to speak to John. John at no cost came out and diagnosed the issue and advised me that everything was still under warranty. He could have charged me for the costly repair and deceived me but he didn't. John was on time as scheduled, prompt and stayed on top of the issue until it was resolved. He even stayed and educated me on our new water softener. On Monday March 28th I stopped in to see if they ran gas lines for a grill. The lady at the desk said yes, and she was about to schedule me when John came up and said that he would come out and look at the area since he would be doing the work. I went home and John showed up about 20 minutes later. He looked at the area, then told me all about the different piping that could be used but that he would never use metal, then proceeded to tell me all the reasons why. He told he his life story which took about an hour. I didn't want to be rude so I listened. He then told me that he would go into the office the next day and work up an estimate and call me that afternoon, which would have been Tuesday afternoon. We walked into the house and he proceeded to carry on a conversation with my son and granddaughter at which point he used the "F" word in a joking manner. He left after I opened the door and said he would call me tomorrow. I have never heard from him. This is the second negative experience I have had with the company. Horrible customer service. I contracted them to replace a water. Which they said they were going to do. When they showed up. They drained the water heater, disconnected the gas line and were already to pull the old unit out. Then they tried to call me and were unable to reach me after like 10 calls. I was on Vacation with my wife. They wanted me to pay before they finished the job. I had already given them my card info. Due to there card reader not working or there office person writing it down wrong they just left my house with an unfinished job. When I called them to see if they could go back on Saturday the guy on the phone said he did not want to work Saturday because it was going to be to HOT. I asked them why they didn't just finish the job. He told me I did not pay. The whole time he's giving me attitude. He said he would let me know in the morning if he could come back. I told him to decide now because if he was not going to do it I would find someone else to. He said he would check his schedule and call me back in a few and let me know. When he called back I could his office manager (wife) mouthing off in the back round. Finally after he did not have a pair to tell me was not going to do it his mouthy wife gets on the phone and tells me she does not want my business. So I said ok goodbye. I got it done the next day by another company that had great customer service and wanted to do the work.At a lot less price then quote by Maricopa Mountain. AVOID at all cost. read more

If I could give them a negative number of "stars" I would. Yesterday I was verbally accosted by two members of their office staff while trying to resolve an issue with a repair they made to our under mount kitchen sink that has fallen for the third time now. I was initially told in a voicemail message that I needed to contact a granite company to fix it. When I called back I was not allowed to speak, the lady kept interrupting me, was yelling at me and then hung up on me. When I called back she picked up the phone without saying a word and hung up again. I called back a third time only to find myself being yelled at by a second member of the office staff. Unbelievable. She would not allow me to speak, kept repeating the same things to me over and over about how this isn't their area of expertise and that they fixed the sink as a courtesy to us. Seriously? Because I know that my landlord paid for the repair and where I come from we call that a business transaction not a "courtesy". It ended with the second lady hanging up on me twice but not before she screamed at me that "my f---ing sink keeps falling because the people who originally installed it didn't do it right". I was stunned. I'm still in shock that this happened. I wrote a review on their FaceBook page and a member of their staff replied to my review by implying that I'm lying about how the phone calls went and now she is claiming that they "stand by their work" and I just need to let them in so they can fix it for me. I wish I could somehow download the original voicemail I recieved here and on their FB page so everyone could hear how uninterested they were in helping me. I'm still in shock that this even happened. I've never had such a horrible customer service experience in all my life. They will never get my business again. read more

I have used them in the past however something bothered me about this company. Finally I was able to narrow it down and it's the bad customer service on the inital call to them. Whoever picks up the phone seemingly is annoyed that you as the customer need to be serviced. I called early this month and when I asked questions every time I would hear a sigh. My impression is that they have had an edge on this market for a long time and think that folks who have made Maricopa their home will tolerate bad customer service. Although in the past the plumber came and was professional, I will not use or recommend them due to lack of satisfactory customer service. This time I took my business elsewhere. read more

We have been associated with Maricopa Mt Plumbing for over 10 years, they have become an absolute joke. We called for a small water leak under the house (they don't like going under the house anymore). He quoted us $300-350, we agreed, we were desperate. He claimed it would take several hours. It took 13 minutes, he re-used our original Shark-Bite connection, didn't replace any water lines or verify if anything else needed replaced, however he gave us a break and only charged us $300. And 3 weeks later it burst. We called back, he's on vacation and hasn't bothered to return our calls. We called Brutinel's in Casa Grande, they came out, gave us a professional estimate, spent over 3 hours, fixed the ruptured connection, replaced several water lines, replaced all the connections & valves for the laundry area, inspected the entire length of the house looking for additional weakness and charged $377. Wow what a difference in attitude and their work is guaranteed for 6 months. Don't get screwed like we did, do yourself a favor and do not ever use Maricopa Mountain Plumbing. read more

On October 24, 2012 I paid for permitted gas lines to go from my meter outside to the inside of the house to hookup my gas stove and gas dryer. I wanted it permitted to make sure it was legit should I ever move. I also had to pay to repair the drywall they had to cut in order to put the gas lines in. So on top of paying $1350.00 for a permitted gas line I had to pay to fix the drywall repair. Fast forward to April 2013 where I called and stated it was taking an absorbent amount of time for my stove to heat up. I was scoffed at and told it's an appliance problem and not their problem and to call an appliance repair. I did just that but the appliance repair guy couldn't find anything wrong with the stove. I'm sure he would have had he pulled the stove out to take a look at the gas lines and the connection to my stove. So fast forward now to March 2016. I'm been getting very bad headaches, nauseous a lot, and some pretty gnarly bloody noses. I wasn't sure what was causing this problem and only after having other work being done and my stove needing to be moved did the gas smell appear. I called out the gas company who turned it off and explained the leak was from the gas lines inside my permitted wall. Needless to say, after the incident in 2013 I didn't feel comfortable calling them to fix their error because one they made the error and two they tried to brush it off like it wasn't their problem. So needless to say, the certified, new plumber told me this: Incorrect tape was used to seal the gas line joints and connections with water tape, the one line to the stove had one thread on it, it was leaking in two places, the gas line itself was so loose that you could swing it side to side, and they used a refrigerator mount to secure it which did not work at all. Tell me, would you use the same company to come repair something that they didn't do right the first time? I think not. Also, I'd like to know how this actually was signed off by the City of Maricopa permit department! Frustration. But at least it's fixed now and I feel a lot better. read more
