I feel kind of stupid reviewing my dentist, but once the Yelp itch starts, you can't get relief until you review every damn place you've ever been to in your life. I mean, for hell's sake, I once reviewed a Time and Temperature sign in Bowling Green, Ohio. Anyhoo...I've been going here for five years, as long as I've lived in Lakewood. I got a crown four years ago that has never given me trouble, a historically good sign that you have a solid dentist. And I even heard her complain to me once about dentists that pile on unnecessary services. So that's pretty cool. AND she actually had current issues of good magazines, not just a copy of Field & Stream from 1997 like my old dentist. read more

I think this place was recently bought out as Dr Albano is close to retirement. When I went, it was clearly a mess and in transition. I was a new patient and the hygienist had a lot of issues taking the x rays. At one point another hygienist came in the room without wearing a mask. Saw a few other hygienists walking around the halls without masks on, so COVID or patients are not taken seriously at all here. This was extremely annoying, especially since my mask had to come off so I could have my teeth examined. After almost 30 minutes of x rays, the doctor took a look at my teeth and said "ok let's schedule a cleaning in a few weeks, we're out of time today". I had already taken off work and was under the impression I'd have a new patient exam as well as a cleaning that day. So I told them I wanted a cleaning that day due to a busy work schedule and they finally gave me one. Not sure if they could have charged me more for coming back or something. Overall, a weird experience. Don't recommend. Dr Albano might be good, but whoever bought her practice out is not. read more

I went to Dr. Albano for about 4 years. I finally got fed up and changed to another dentist. The dental hygienist was condescending and misleading. She would tell me about various cavities I had and proceed to belittle me about it. Dr. Albano would come in and say how great my mouth looked, and never mentioned a single cavity! This happened twice, and finally I decided enough was enough. read more

Dr. Albano was extremely disappointing. First, she had terrible bedside manor (condescending as stated in a previous review). I was quoted $350 for the work done. This was an estimate as she did still need to bill my insurance but I left with the understanding that if the balance was different it would not be by much. I then got a bill for a remaining balance of $650! She billed my insurance double what we had discussed for a procedure she told me most likely would not be covered. I called to complain but the biller did not help so I did not pay with plans on disputing if she tried to put me in collections. Well she did put me in collections for... $820?? So quoted me one price, billed me double then put me in collections for almost triple. This is fraud. I am in the middle of my dispute and am waiting for the collections agency to send me all the verifications she submitted to them. And wouldn't you know the tooth she worked on needs correcting from another dentist. Nice. read more

Good at what she does, and gentle with the stabby implements. Only dentist that hasn't caused excruciating pain when injecting novacaine. Sure, it hurts; it's a needle in your mouth after all....but the experience doesn't make my whole body shake in agony during the process, like it has with every other dentist I've ever had. Uggh. I don't find her to be rude or condescending like some other reviewers. Her voice is NOT high pitched and bubbly, and she speaks in a somewhat monotone manner.... This can be misconstrued as gruff or rude, when it's nothing of the sort. The hygienists are nice and have a good sense of humor. I'm a chickensh*t and need nitrous for actual dental work. This is the first place that said nitrous has had ANY effect on me--I'm convinced the other dentists I've seen were giving me a placebo. The dentist is a lot less terrifying now. read more

I went to Dr. Albano with a cracked tooth that had previously been filled. Dr. Albano was empathetic and professional. She took the time to show me the extent of the damage; i feared i would loose the tooth because it was a pretty significant crack and small chip. Dr Albano agreed that this was a possibility, especially when she removed the old filling. Then she carefully explained what she would do to repair the damage and, hopefully, save the tooth (no guarantee). I appreciated her honesty and I am happy to report that, with only minimal discomfort, I still have my tooth thanks to Dr. Albano's expertise. read more

I recently needed crowns on my front 2 middle upper teeth due to thinning and chipping. Dr. Albano was terrific in diagnosing the problem, recommending teeth whitening before the crowns, and of course gently handling the crown replacement. The net results are a terrific smile and a very happy customer. read more

Dentist is misleading and rude, however the hygienist was very polite. I went to a set of appointments with Dr. albano. My first appointment was for a cleaning and a filling which turned out to be three fillings in the end. First she found one. Then while filling the first one she found the other two. At that point I suspected no issues because I thought maybe she overlooked them accidentally. Then she advised me she thought a tooth in the upper front of my mouth which had a small chip actually needed to be repaired. She was very vague at explaining how she would repair it but she advised she thought it was necessary for my tooth. She rescheduled me after the first of the year so that my insurance would fully cover the correction and the office set me for a follow up appointment. This was all done because I came at the end of December so my dental benefits renewed about a week later and I was told by the staff I would have more then enough to cover fixing the one tooth. What I didn't know was that a small chip in my tooth would soon become a painful unnecessary financial nightmare stemming from the greed and misleading of Marie albano. She did not explain how she would fix my tooth but I assumed it would be some kind of slight filler since the chip was so small. This woman completely shaved my entire tooth down for a crown which was not necessary. Then gave me a small cap tooth which did not fit over the stub she left and advised I needed to come back in two weeks for the actual crown. The temporary crown didn't fit. It was painful. It was constantly falling out of my mouth. I couldn't eat. And I was angry because the tooth could have easily been saved if this woman wasn't so concerned about up charging instead of being an efficient dentist. At one point while waiting for the permanent crown I even went into the office for help because I couldn't eat and the temporary kept falling out because they never fit me for it. They gave me some Poli-grip and said to hang in there. No help at all. When the crown finally arrived it didn't fit correctly and I was left with an odd shaped tooth with a grey lining at the top that isn't even aligned with my teeth! On top of that they neglected to inform me that they added a slew of other charges exceeding my insurance limits and billed me for the excess when I was assured this wouldn't happen. Now I'm being threatened with them sending it to collections. All because this woman saw an opportunity to create a small issue into a large one to make more money. Now I have a horrible crown and a large bill for no reason. And obviously the tooth wasn't saved. Eating has never been the same. And the office is yet to resolve this. Horrible place. Do not go there. All the woman cares about is money. Unnecessary procedures and she is horrible at cosmetically fixing teeth. Do your research look elsewhere. read more
