I live on the edge of Cheektowaga near Amherst, so coming to town hall is about a 10/15 minute drive for me. You can take care of your typical legal business here, such as tax payments, dog licensing, etc. I've visited here twice for both of these reasons. It's a semi-dated building on the inside, original architecture mixed with some 80's elevator system or something (I don't know the exact date the elevators were put in, I'm just making them seem old here). If I recall correctly, part of the building was under repairs during my last visit. There's plenty of signage telling you where you need to go, at least! As long as I continue living in the town, I'm sure I'll find my way back eventually.

This property consists of the Lancaster Youth Bureau, Lancaster Senior Center, and bandshell, used…read moremostly for Lancaster Town Band concerts. The concerts take place every Tuesday nights at 7:30 in the summer and are free. The program is 1 hour long and the music is a good mix of popular, show tunes, patriotic, and a classical piece, and they always draw a large crowd. They feature singers as well and each concert is themed. There are a few benches, but most people bring chairs or a blanket to sit on to watch the concerts. The concerts are dog and kid friendly too. High schoolers walk around to sell candy bars and sometimes there are 50-50 raffles. Clean bathrooms located inside the Youth Bureau to use during concerts. Additionally, there's also plenty of free parking in their parking lot, but also on-street parking on the adjacent streets (Oxford Ave, 1st Ave and 2nd Ave).

This is a quaint old…read morebuilding that houses town offices such as the Town Supervisor, Town Clerk, Assessors Office, etc. Next time you attend something at Island Park or the Williamsville Library, take a look The outside is more historic looking than the inside which is just plain vanilla hallways and mostly closed office doors. With a building front that has such grandeur with massive steps and pillars, the inside is a bit of a disappointment. But if all you care about is to take care of town business, the interior meets the bill.

Went here with my to-be hubby to get a marriage license on a Wednesday afternoon. We were asked if…read morewe had an appointment, but we did not. Being from out of town, we were not aware that these things require appointments, and really couldn't afford extra time to come back. Not to worry, the gals said they could handle us right away. The lady that took all of our information and printed our license was friendly. She obviously still likes seeing the couples that come in and was excited for us, even though we must've been her umpteenth couple. She recognized that, for us, this was a monumental moment in the process and honored that. All in all, the process took about twenty minutes (there is lots of information to be provided from both people.) I was surprised at how easy and how pleasant our experience was with any sort of bureaucracy. Thanks, Brighton!

There is one Town Hall which covers the Village and the Town of Ellicottville. The Ellicottville Historic District, Ellicottville Town Hall, and Jefferson Street Cemetery are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. 1675
