I brought my wedding dress here and deeply regret it. First, the dress was returned to me slightly yellowed with a yellow water mark through the train that I had to get out (didn't notice it before bringing it home). The bustle she added was a flimsy piece of ribbon with loose ends that did not hold up the dress on the day of my wedding. I also called once to ask about the dress and they did not know what I was talking about and said it would not be ready in time... so overall, go somewhere else if you're getting your wedding dress altered. read more

This place does incredible work. I brought in an embroidered patch that I wanted to have moved to a new jacket. The patch had been on a previous jacket that had worn out. When I had the patch put on the original jacket (by a different business) it was a decent job but, when I compared that job with the one Marin Designs just did, it was like night and day. Marin Designs attached the patch with such precision and attention to detail, I was impressed. I know it sounds like a simple job but, there is something to be said about someone who takes the time to make their work look highly professional. The price was very reasonable, and the job was done in a timely manner. This will definitely be my go-to place for any future alterations or sewing jobs. read more

Martha is quite talented. I brought her a wool sweater with a bunch of moth holes which I really didn't want to toss. She fixed it for $15 and you can barely tell there were ever holes in it. I've also brought her pants to hem and a cashmere sweater with a small hole. She only charged me a couple of bucks for the small hole in the sweater! The pants were hemmed perfectly. When it comes to clothes I am very buy it for life oriented. I thrift a lot of higher end items on the cheap and then if they have small issues that need fixing, I bring them here. Now I'll be able to keep a lot of these items in my closet for years to come and for a reasonable price, too. Even better, this place is an easy walk from my house. read more

Norma did such an amazing job and she completely saved my wedding dress. The wedding dress that I bought was ordered in a size that was at least 2 sizes too big for me. However, I didn't realize the mistake until I received it, and by then, the dress was out of stock in my size. I was heartbroken (I was in literal tears over this) because it was a dress I truly loved and I thought I would have to find another dress. The store where I bought the dress recommended I go to Norma at Marin Designs and I'm so thankful I did. Her prices were so reasonable (she could actually charge way more than she does for the work she provides) and she let me come in multiple times to her shop so we could get the fit just right. The dress now fits me perfectly and I can't wait to wear it at my wedding. Norma was actually going to charge me less than the price she quoted me, but I insisted on paying more because I knew how much work she did on my dress. After picking up my daughters bridal gown and my mother of the bride dress today, I couldn't wait to get out this review. Norma is simply a fantastic listener who takes pride in her craft. We had multiple appointments over many months as our body weights shifted and we continued to need alterations. I was blown away that Norma could take a dress that I bought when I was 25 pounds heavier and alter it to perfection for our big day. I can't wait to wear it. The bridal gown alteration required a complete back redesign and bustle and came perfect. Incredible,professional, extremely talented ladies. Goddesses of their craft, if you can imagine it, they can do it. They have fixed dresses, skirts, pants, even bedding for me and my entire family, all in a timely manner. They have made table cloths and various other items for my children's school. These ladies genuinely care about their customers and treat them like family. Many afternoons discussing ideas with them have turned into visiting with friends! I can't recommend them enough!
