Wish I could give it zero stars. The worst nail salon. I had called to reserve a time and when I got there, they had booked three other people at the same time. The woman who did my pedicure was in such a rush to get me out that she didn't fully remove the old nail polish and then she started to put on the wrong color until I stopped her. The worst part is that in her rush, she cut my toe with her clippers. It was very painful. It is not a very clean place either. Will never go back. read more

It's been a long time since I found a Nail Salon worth writing about. This is a wonderful small studio operated by a small staff of professionals that are not rushed and really want you to be happy. They took their time sampling the colors that interested me. AND, I was treated like a Princess, given the royal treatment with a heater ( it was a cold day) and bottled water while I was there. This place is not terrible like the ratings suggest. It really DEPENDS on who does your nails. Like many salons you have talented people and not talented people working there so the trick is to find out who they are and who to avoid. I have been going here for more than a decade and I'm extremely happy. COMMENTING on the post below... As for the bathroom comment without washing their hands. I believe that is Jennifer. I have to give a shoutout to this nail place. My hands and feet were absolutely wrecked after a long vacation with lots of walking followed by two weeks of intense work stress and accompanying nail biting and skin picking. Everyone was really nice about it and worked around my injuries. Suzanne was meticulous with my pedicure and gave me one of the best and most relaxing pedicure massages ever! They also have great massage chairs. I did not get the name of my manicurist but when I noticed that one of my nails was patchy while paying she redid it. I mentioned that I wished I hadn't chosen a matte topcoat and she was able to magically restore the color to a shine finish on my hands! It was kind of her to make sure I was 100% happy when it was my fault for picking a bad combination (bright red's gotta shine!) and especially since it was already 45 minutes after closing time by then. read more

update: 10/07 I have to change my review of this place due to the fact that I was stuck one day and was on my way out on a date and I needed to get a repair done on my nails. I went to a different person this time and I told her about my experience and she was wonderful. She did a fantastic job and asked that the next time I need a pedicure to come and PLEASE give her a try. I did that today and she did a fantastic job!!! Her name is Sandy. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Quite possibly the WORST nail salon in the whole Universe!!!! This place would of been so easy for me to like since I work in the same building as their location.... sooo perfect so you can imagine I tried everything that I could to like them...... These ladies are amazing. So sweet. I was a walk-in and they took me in with no problem. It's nice to have your nails done with a smile and kindness from them, which is sadly not too common in the industry. I will be back for sure. And their mascot dog, Mimi is adorable. Very nice women, but not the best experience. The manicure it's self was not very good. There was a woman in their with her wolf dog (I love dogs!), but so not sanitary. And the process took sooooo long. They need to step it up, unless you have nothing to do that day. read more

This is my go-to pedicure place. I can always get in last minute, their massages chairs are great, and the women are really friendly and take a lot of time and care with the pedicures. Great leg/foot massages too! Not the freshest choice of polish or most luxe salon, but definitely my neighborhood choice. read more

I GOT A FUNGAL INFECTION HERE!! As a nurse, I often caution people against getting pedicures due to the risk of fungal infections (which can also occur with manicures) which destroy your nail(s) and are very hard to get rid of. When I walked in I noticed they didn't use bags to line the bowls where you soak your feet - these are important as antibacterial sprays won't address a fungus once the bowls are contaminated. I was under a time crunch before going on vacation so had the pedicure against my best judgement. A week later, when I took the polish off, I noted that one of my nails was discolored. It was a fungal infection and 8 months later I'm still trying to treat it as they are very difficult to get rid of. I don't want to bash this place, but they need to take better precautions and the fungus likely is still present at their facility. Learn from my experience :/. read more

I agree with the zero star rating. This place is a joke. I went one day, mostly because its close to my house and was the only thing open. The service was terrible, the salon was dirty, and the pedicure was in total 30 minutes and probably the sloppiest and worst i've ever had. Still, the lady that did my toes was very nice and quoted me a cheap rate when i asked about coming back for a manicure a few days later. I made an appointment and returned on the day I was scheduled. Not only were they not even close to being ready, but gave me serious attitude when I asked what happened to the appointment I made. I just had a pedicure from Suzanne and as always it was wonderful. The massage alone is worth coming here. There was a Dr. having his nails done in the chair nearby. I love the nail polish (I usually have purple) and how long it stays on. They are very professional and I highly recommend them. I have to comment on the Fake review by Hope H and say how sad it is that this is allowed. "She" has 10/14/2018 as her date on yelp and then "she" says it was a fungal infection and 8 months later "she" is trying to treat it. Call me crazy but today is October 23, 2018. Was "she" visiting from Connecticut last March and just decided to write a review from 8 months ago and remembers the name of her salon. Her first? It is hard enough in these times to make a living....... Suzanne, Jennifer and Ann of Marin Nail Care work very hard, have a very clean place, are kind, fair and always welcoming. I have been going to Marin Nail Care for years, and always have a very professional job done by the very friendly staff. I have silk-wrap nails, which is a very involved process, very labor intensive, but Sandy and Ann do a very professional job. I travel a lot in my job, and have to have perfect nails, and the job they do is excellent and lasts for 3-4 weeks. I also have enjoyed Jennifer, who does pedicures. She is very gentle and thorough. I've even gotten my husband in there and he is a convert to having his nails done. They have wonderful massage chairs that he loves, and it doesn't feel like too much of a "girlie" place, so he feels comfortable. I highly recommend Marin Nail Care! One of the sloppiest manicures I've had. I had to ask the manicurist to repaint and/or fix many of my nails because she wasn't coating the nail evenly with paint. She obliged but didn't really fix the problem the second time around. The shape of my nails look great so it's such a shame the paint job is so crappy! Wow, the ratings truly deceive how positively lovely this place is! The lovely ladies who work there are always beyond accommodating in every sense-- if they can't fit you in for a drop-in right that moment, they'll do their very *best* to fit you in as close to within the hour as possible, and they do an *excellent* job of doing my nails *exactly* how I want them done-- colour, shape, and style. There was only *one* time out of the several times that I have had my regular pedicure and my gel manicure there in which one of my nails (my thumb, which makes sense upon second thought!) was not held under the UV lamp for a long enough exposure period of time, which prevented that particular nail from being able to dry. However, it was my fault for going into the salon shortly before they began to close the salon, so I had to wait until the next morning to get it fixed, as to which they were only too happy to fix the problem beautifully and quickly! :) This is my go-to nail salon when I'm in Marin County! read more

These group of women are always very accomodating. I always get lucky b/c whenever I show up or call I am always able to get in. (they've been in business since '88) I occasionally get pedi's, but if you're ok with a so-so job, then this is the place. As the person that generally does it, does just that.... an OK job (jennifer). So thats why I jsut generally get a polish change on my toes. Other than that, if you get acrylics or wraps you'll get Ann or Sandy. Ann & Sandy will do your mani/pedi, you just have to spefically ask for them. read more

My friend recommended that I go to this salon and ask for Sandy. I scheduled an appointment for a manicure and pedicure and it was a great experience as my feet are tough and dry. She took more time and care with my feet than anyone ever has and never once cut or hurt me. She is definitely skilled as a manicurist and I have scheduled my next appointment with her. read more
