My manicure and pedicure were pretty good. A little rushed but the space was nice and the chairs were comfortable. The issue was with sanitization of the pedicure bowls. The bowls were not lined with the plastic liners. As I sat there I did not see any of the pedicure bowls cleaned or sanitized or even rinsed in between clients (at least 4 times). Just drained the old foot water and refilled! Again, there were no disposable liners. This is a very serious health hazard and is putting client's health and their business license in jeopardy. I scrubbed my feet in the shower with tea tree oil and under my toenails as soon as I got home. Crossing my fingers that is enough to prevent a fungal infection. I would happily wait a few minutes for the bowl to be sanitized rather than risk infection. read more

It was my first time going and I asked for tip extensions. I think the pictures speak for themselves- the polish was thick and uneven, as well as the manicure itself. I went to this salon for over five years and recommended them to countless people but their service has taken a nose dive. I think it's a mixture of lack of staffing and being overbooked, but my last three appointments have been close to an hour late! I work around the clock and have back to back appointments, so I found myself changing all appointments for the rest of my day. There is no apologies, until you are seated and your receiving the service. The pedicures have been rushed, my toes were barely cut, they either skip the leg massage of barely scrape the bottom of your feet. My pedicures are not lasting more than 2.5 weeks and that's if I'm lucky. Time to move on. read more

Typically it is just the first layer of polish that is removed this way, and then acetone is applied to remove the remaining layer of gel. We had an appointment for 2 pedicures at 3:30. Arrived on time and saw that all workers were busy.. No greetings from anyone. Waited over an hour before we were seated. the water in the basin was so cold I yelped in astonishment. The woman who started working on my toes was clearly in a hurry, cutting one foot toenail shorter than the other leaving ugly holes in the corner of my toe. Overall impression: Professional, clean, well-priced, and friendly. My mom and I went here on a whim as I'm only in town visiting her for a week, and we went because of the good yelp reviews. They're very busy and they do their best to sit you and get to work as quickly as possible, but we did have to wait a bit for our appointment. For that and having to tell the manicurist to turn the curing lights on multiple times is why I took one star off. Otherwise, it was a pleasant experience. It's a small shop and by no means fancy, but it's clean and all the tools they use come out in sterilized packaging. We booked an appointment day-of and they had great availability, so it was also very convenient. I saw some people complain about the prices but I was ecstatic to see how cheap it was, though that might have something to do with being from the ever-expensive land of western Canada. Nonetheless, I think the price is a bargain ($30 for a gel manicure -- usually around $50 where I come from). You can definitely tell that the manicurists put in a lot of attention to detail; they look very focused as they work, as if they are creating the one manicure to rule them all. Definitely a job well done, and it's always nice when it's starts off with a "hello, how are you?" and an offer for tea or water. I'd definitely return to this place if I'm ever in the area again. They take pride in their work, they treat customers very politely, and the atmosphere is comfortable. I understand why this place is highly rated. The salon was very clean, comfortable, and it actually smelled nice (probably due to proper ventilation since the door was open, so it didn't smell like nail polish or chemicals like most establishments). The staff is accommodating and friendly. I called to make an appointment but had to leave a message since they were closed. My call was returned when they opened the next day, confirming my appointment. When I arrived, I was instantly greeted by the manager Tham and was offered hot tea or water when she sat me for my shellac manicure. She did a great job and would always check with me if I wanted my nails done a certain way (some wouldn't care to ask). The massages were relaxing and went on for a good amount of time too! (My favorite part of getting my nails done) Overall, I'm happy with my experience. The price was great for the service received. In addition, Tham offered some advice for nail care, such as allowing your nails a breather to keep them healthy which shows she truly cares about her customers. read more

I love this place. I've tried almost every nail salon in Marin and this is my go to. Since I found them about a year ago I haven't gone anywhere else. I've had their pedicure, manicure, and gel manicure. Their quality of work is exceptional, I've never left with a less than perfect mani/pedi/gel. I've had David do my gel manicures and they've come out flawlessly each time. My gels typically last anywhere from 2-4 weeks depending on how nice I am to them. The pedicure baths are clean and their polish selection is great. The tools that they use come in sterile packages that they open right in front of you. When you walk in the door they offer you water or tea and there are rose petals and lemon in the foot baths. All of the staff members are friendly and do amazing work Make an appointment!! #1 tip to getting a good service and not feeling rushed. They are always jam packed (I've even seen them turn people away because they were so busy). Although you might not get an appointment the day you want it hold out because it's well worth the wait. My pedicure was good, at least! The lady was patient with my ticklish feet, and made my feet look wonderful. But then came my acrylic fill. I was handed over to another lady who was rushed and didn't listen when I told her I wanted to keep the length, nor did she put much effort into the shape. She made me bleed a few times. My daughter asked me to join her for a mani-pedi and picked this salon as it was nearby and had good reviews. This was my first time ever getting a manicure and pedicure simultaneously. I loved the hot neck warmer they draped over my neck and shoulders the moment I sat down in the chair. The hand massage I received from the young woman doing my manicure was wonderful and she was very gentle and thorough dealing with my unkempt fingernails. She was also very patient as I decided I didn't like the color nail polish I'd chosen for my fingers. I appreciated the foot bath, massage and pedicure given by a different woman. Best Mani Pedi yet! I've been all over Marin looking for a place for a decent Mani/Pedi. My sister and I were there for about 2 hours. 2 hours of magic. We sat down in the über comfy massage chairs and it took maybe a minute for the kind ladies (sorry I can't remember their names) to get started. Our feet were put into a hot water bath with lemons and rose petals then it was business as usual until the massage. I'm pretty sure they massage our arms and legs for at least 15 minutes each. Absolutely without a doubt the best nail salon I have visited. Even in the middle of our mani-pedi I turned to my friend and said, "We have got to give this place an awesome yelp review". Seriously! My best friend and I have been getting our nails done together for years at Orchid Blossom in Novato, which in our opinion isn't a BAD place...but it was never relaxing in the way having your nails done should be and I never walked out of that place not bleeding somewhere, being in some sort of pain or feeling 100% satisfied with my nails. Feeling adventurous, we decided to give this place a try after reading a ton of great reviews. And wow. I had originally asked for a set of acrylics albeit having fairly long nails (I believe one had broken and was a little shorter than the rest), but the women helping my friend and I both told me I had such beautiful nails and didn't want to ruin them with acrylics. Instead, they suggested a gel set and helped me pick out a color similar to the one I had originally picked out for both my toes and fingers. I ended up going with a really pretty sparkly lavender color that they said they mix up themselves. My friend wanted acrylic claw nails. Her acrylic set/pedicure was $50, my gel set/pedicure was $60. Worth it. They did an incredible job. We were both so pleased and relaxed, we hardly even spoke to one another. The leg/foot massages they give during the pedicures are so long and nice, they really do take their time and even when more people started coming in, I never felt rushed. The woman doing my nails was very sweet and made sure to confirm which nail shape I preferred, how short I wanted them cut, etc. And, yay, no cuts or scrapes! And my friend's nails came out FIERCE. So if you're looking to do something more edgy, go for it. They can do it. All in all, it was just such a pleasant experience. The salon as a whole had a great vibe, I noticed a group of three other girls came in while we were there to have pedicures done and catch up, and it seemed like everyone in the salon was really happy, spending quality time with their girls and relaxing, the way I would imagine having your nails done should be!
