I had such a great experience going here for my pregnancy. Dr. Warren and her team of nurses practitioners and nurses were top tier. From the beginning of my pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum the care was so much better than the care I received from my first pregnancy. They take care of a lot of women and I was so impressed that they are able to handle the amount of personnel with the level of care and attention. I highly recommend this clinic! read more

I have been a patient at this practice for four years, and while the providers have been good, the administrative side has been consistently frustrating. In those four years, I have not been able to reach the reception or billing department by phone even once. Calls either go unanswered or are disconnected almost immediately. Resolving even simple issues has always been unnecessarily difficult. My latest experience was unacceptable. My original appointment was canceled by the practice. I received at least three text messages and multiple emails confirming that the appointment had been canceled. Then, about a month later, the practice scheduled me with a different provider without my agreement. The text message specifically instructed me to reply "1" to confirm the new appointment, and I never replied or confirmed by email. Despite never accepting the new appointment, I was charged a no show fee. A medical practice cannot cancel an appointment, repeatedly notify a patient that it has been canceled, and then simply place a new appointment on the patient's calendar weeks later with a different provider and charge a no show fee when the patient never confirmed it. I hope management takes these issues seriously because they have significantly impacted my experience as a patient and has been extremely disappointing. read more

This place is by far the worse OBGYN in all of Virginia. Dr. Lani Warren is rude, nasty, miserable and complains all day long. She has no bed side manners whatsoever. They rush care, cancel appointments, and talk about patients right through those thin ass walls they have. Dr. Warren doesn't care about any patients needs or concerns, she just want their money. She sit around all day allowing her MA's to sign off on all her orders and put in her orders during visits. She calls around to her little puppets and they all follow suit. This practice will never be ran properly because Dr. Warren thinks her patients are just money and her MA's are NURSES. They have had so many MA's walk out of this place because of her stupidity and rudeness amongst the staff. If you all are looking for an OBGYN, Marina Shores is not it. They understaffed, non caring, doesn't answer phones, complain about seeing patients if the referral is different from what the patient is coming in for, complain about shit not being done because her miserable, underlying ass won't do her job. The most nastiest doctor's award goes to Lani Warren. She should definitely look into why they can't keep people past 1 week instead of worrying about irrelevant things in the office that her and her little pets should be doing. Let's not forget the NP Brenda and the office manager Tammy. They are both just as worse as Warren. One minute they cheesing all in your face, but the minute you turn your back they jumping in Warren ass about something they should be doing in the first place. The office manager can't even keep a decent staff because she let the Dr tell her wtf to do so she can keep a paycheck. So, if y'all looking for OBGYN care, RUN CLEAN AWAY FROM HERE. I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Dr. Warren's Marina Shores OB/GYN practice over the past two years warrants one. I visited this practice strictly for gynecological care and saw two different nurse practitioners during that time. Unfortunately, neither demonstrated a strong depth of knowledge or took the time to ask meaningful questions about my health. At one appointment, I was actually told I would need to schedule a separate visit if I wanted to ask questions--an approach that feels completely out of step with patient-centered care. The physical environment is also problematic. The exam rooms are extremely small and offer little to no privacy; when the door is opened, it feels as though the entire hallway has a direct view inside. More concerning, however, is the overall lack of professionalism and organization within the practice. During a recent visit, while a waiting room full of patients--including several pregnant women--sat waiting, Dr. Warren called the front desk to say she would not be in until 10 a.m. and instructed staff to clear her schedule until then. There was no acknowledgment or apology to patients. At the same time, front desk staff were openly and casually speaking negatively about both patients and Dr. Warren while patients could hear them--behavior that is completely inappropriate in any healthcare setting. My family has also had negative experiences here. When my daughter attempted to get a birth control implant, it required three separate visits due to repeated administrative errors (failure to order the device correctly). From a clinical standpoint, the care has felt reactive rather than proactive. Routine evaluations I previously received elsewhere--such as a cervical ultrasound to monitor ovarian health and confirm IUD placement--were not offered and instead required me to advocate for myself and justify why I believed they were necessary. Most recently, I reached out with a straightforward question about prescription dosing. After speaking with two nurses who could not answer it, I communicated with Dr. Warren via the patient portal. Her responses were condescending and dismissive. After multiple exchanges, she ultimately provided a simple, one-sentence answer--but only after implying that I was asking too many questions and directing me to schedule an appointment if I still "didn't understand." This was both unnecessary and unprofessional. Overall, this practice appears poorly managed, with consistent issues in communication, organization, and basic patient respect. Between the lack of thorough care, administrative errors, and unprofessional interactions--including from Dr. Warren herself--I cannot recommend this practice. read more

the front desk receptionist to the left with the short hair literally came up and at me as if she was about to start a physical altercation. Her coworker had to physically and verbally restrain her. I was in shock as I have never seen this type of behavior happen in any setting that I have been in, much less a doctors 'Z. She was visibly upset before I entered, then once they informed me that for the second week in a row that my appointment (scheduled on advisement of my oncologist) to review substantiate ovarian cysts seen on imaging by other clinicians was cancelled . Coming from Croatan to Shore Drive, I received no prior communication, there was no effort with an empty office to see if another provider would see me and when I offered to wait, there was no chance because one appointment was scheduled every thirty minutes before the physician left at 3pm. The last time (last spring) I did see the physician she gave me a peri menopausal patch without doing bloodwork and no ultrasound to look at the cyst she was informed of when the appointment was made and in office. read more

My wife has been to this office twice, and both times she encountered staff who were not only unprofessional and uninterested, but also came across as frankly incompetent and poorly informed. The first visit was for her 20-week anatomy scan. We were warned that if she was late, she would be charged $100 for a missed appointment. Yet after checking in, completing paperwork, and being taken back, she was told the ultrasound tech wasn't even there that day and would need to reschedule for the following week. At the rescheduled appointment, the experience was just as bad. The staff barely spoke to her during what was supposed to be a 30-45 minute anatomy scan but lasted only six minutes. Instead of offering reassurance, the ultrasound tech increased her anxiety by saying she would have the provider refer her to EVMS (a facility for high-risk pregnancies). Naturally concerned, my wife asked for clarification, and the tech only responded, "They just have better equipment." Confused, my wife went to the front desk to ask about the referral. The staff there told her the ultrasound tech should never have said that in the first place. This level of disorganization, lack of communication, and outright ineptitude is unacceptable--especially in such an important stage of pregnancy. Needless to say, we will not be returning read more

I love the ladies here. But I cannot ever get ahold of anyone over the phone at this office. I have been calling everyday multiple times a day for days straight and nobody picks up the phone. It stresses me because I can't contact any doctors. What if I was pregnant and I had some sort of emergency? It just makes me feel bad that nobody respects me enough to pick up my calls. I'm feeling really disappointed and frustrated. I love the ladies here and the clinic. But I know if there was a real emergency, I'd have no way of telling my doctor, because nobody answers the phone here. If you're a high risk pregnancy, don't come here, in fact it makes me feel unsafe knowing I can't get ahold of anyone in my care team at this clinic if needed. Good morning, I'm writing this review due to the poor treatment of my wife during her pregnancy. We have been in Norfolk for about 7 months. We've been sticking it out at the OB to make it through our last pregnancy. The Nurse Practitioner (I won't say any names but she will know who she is) that we were assigned has been the most unprofessional nurse practitioner that I've ever had. Here are some examples: She leaves my 9 month pregnant wife laying on the table and walks out of the room without attempting to help her up. She accuses my wife of having medical issues that have never been a problem in the past and then goes and gossips in the nurses area. Instead of trying to help my wife she would rather come in and argue in the most unprofessional manner. We've gone 38 weeks and not once until we threatened to change providers did she offer to check my wife's cervix. Instead of torturing our already hormonally imbalanced pregnant women how about you do your job and help them. It takes a lot for me as a guy to write a review but I just want all the new moms out there to know the way we were treated and what they might have to deal with if they are assigned to this child of a "doctor". I love this place. I've been coming here since I found out I was pregnant at 6 weeks and am now 30. I work a dangerous job and really needed a doctor's note to get on light duty, they managed to get me in for a very brief visit as soon as I explained my situation. It was short but I was SO THANKFUL to them for working me in, I was so stressed every time I was at work. I've seen Dr. Warren twice and nurse practitioners/ midwives every other visit. I'd imagine I would see more of Dr. Warren if I was high risk, which I'm not, so I'm not complaining! Dr. Warren and everyone else I've worked with there have been lovely. I've had my appointments rescheduled but that sometimes just HAPPENS people. Double booking happens, someone who really NEEDS to be seen might need the time slot, everyone there also has a life and may or may not need to NOT be at work when initially scheduled to be. I get the email and a voicemail that my appointment time has been changed (usually by no more than 15-30 minutes) and would probably actually have been told directly if I actually picked up the phone for numbers I don't know. I also have never had an issue getting them on the phone. Sometimes there's a hold time. Probably because there are people IN THE OFFICE and other people trying to call. If I can't get through, I leave a voicemail and they call back. The office is clean. Sometimes there will be a hair on the floor because, this might come as a surprise, but a bunch of women are in there. God forbid someone sheds a hair. It's very well kept and cleaned to a very reasonable extent. I read a review about not getting a cervical check. Some practitioners don't consider them a routine part of exams. A lot of women refuse them anyway. I don't know if they're typical at Marina Shores but I imagine you can just ASK. Like I said. I love this place. read more

I had the best experience at Marina Shores today. As someone who has over 20 pap smears in my lifetime, this was the most comfortable experience. I definitely loved coming here throughout my pregnancy. The staff is very friendly and they answered all of my questions. It's very clean, always smells good, and there's always calm music playing. I also loved looking at the beach themed art on the wall. I never waited more than 5 or 10 minutes. I hate needles but whenever they had to draw blood, they were very patient with me. They gave me a list of vaccines that they recommend during pregnancies. These ladies are amazing and attentive. I highly recommend this place to everyone! Thank you guys for everything! read more

Lab worker was asked about what tests they were going to do with headphones in and smelled of weed, completely ignored my wife and didn't even take a lab making us miss a crucial test for genetic defects that is routine. This office staff is incompetent and rude. i had an appointment at 8am amd was told upon arrival the doctor wasn't scheduled to be in. The office left me a voicemail yesterday afternoon that Dr. Warren wouldn't be in. I traveled from out of town to attend this appointment and it was very upsetting the doctor wasn't in ans no one else could see me. Thay should have continued to try to reach me but felt that one voicemail was sufficient. Rescheduled 3 times for IUD insertion. The first time they told me I had to be on my menstruation cycle and the second time the OBGYN scheduled a surgery on top of my appointment and the third time someone within the office had the key who didn't go to work that day. I guess only 1 person has a key in the entire office. The front office is completely disorganized. Appointments aren't honored or kept and they can cancel when in office. This is the worst place to be during your pregnancy! Their ultrasound is off the reality! My friend had an ultrasound at 38 weeks and told her that the baby has 7lb and they induced to give birth that day to find out the baby have only 5 lb! Save your money for a better ultrasound! It happened twice, two different situation when they've said the baby is too small and you need ultrasounds at different places because they don't have a good technology! Then to find out that the baby has a normal weight and their ultrasound technology is outdated! Just money spent on ultrasounds everywhere! At 36 weeks, they've tested for an infection, and they are not providing the results which is bad! My friend found out at the hospital that she did not passed the test and they had to put her on antibiotics during the delivery!!! Crazy! Dr Warren was supposed to assist the birth but she did not, even she was at the hospital! She directed another doctor to do this! One time a nurse said to google for information on how to use a product, then why you pay to be seen by Obgyn? If you are never be seen by an obgyn and the nurse is not helpful at all? If you are pregnant, you need to use google as an obgyn? They cancel your appointments consecutively without rescheduling you! More, they are charging you money but they are not taking it off the billing system!! Then you will receive bills in the mail saying that you have payments, even you have already paid for the visit!! And on top of that, they are talking your private information in front of other patients! Their rooms where you are examined are not cleaned or sanitized, you are going to see hair on the ground and the weight dirty! That's gross, in the era of covid and all kind of diseases! The front desk lady who is taking care of the financial department is lying to you that she is taking care of your payments but she is not, even you make payments at the office with receipts, she is not taking off the payments from the system, you will get bills in the mail saying that the payments were not been applied! It's a very nice office. Clean and pleasantly appealing to the eye. Very pleasant staff that made me feel welcome. With my old OBGYN, I would wait over an hour just to get called back. After waiting 45 minutes in the lobby and reminding myself in my head that 'being more patient' was one of my New Years resolutions, I finally asked the front desk what was going on as I had an appointment. Apparently, I wasn't checked in. After a curt apology from the receptionist, I sit and watch even more patients get called ahead of me. I finally stand up and ask why other new patients were being seen ahead of me. After some confusion and the receptionist finally informs the nurse that she made a mistake not checking me in an hour ago, one of the patients who had been called, gives me her spot. Fast forward to a week later when I try to return a phone call from their office and am put on hold for about ten minutes before I have to hang up and call again. This time the excuse is that she had picked up and not heard anyone which is strange since I had spoken to someone already that had placed me on hold. The doctors and nurses may be great. My appointment was rather easy once I got past the front desk. However, the organization and representation of their business is greatly lacking in training and development. I've never been made to feel so irrelevant by a health care provider as I was at Marina Shores. My first visit was amazing! But little did I know that health care provider left the practice. I attempted to schedule with her again and was told I was, until I received a call needing to reschedule my appointment because she "wasn't available". During my rescheduled visit the Nurse Practitioner was cold, did not communicate the procedure at all, and had no empathy for the pain I was in. The horror stories I could tell you about that visit! Despite this I scheduled my next appointment thinking the visit was a fluke. The next THREE appointments I attempted to schedule had to be rescheduled each 2-3 times. It was until my last reschedule did the receptionist "slip up" and inform me the original nurse practitioner I loved so much and had been so desperately trying to see again had actually left. If you call to ask questions expect attitude, a lack of catering, and likely no really answer. Try any other OBGYN before you come here! read more

If you want a stress-free pregnancy, look for another Office! There are many problems at this office! If you still ignore the reviews, then good luck! One of the rooms in which you are examined is dirty, the room on the left next to the restroom! Your appointments ( multiple times and consecutively ) are canceled without any explanation, and they will not reschedule you. I had to go there in person to be sure that the schedules are made! one time Bethany welcomed me with "why you came in person, did you call us before?" Terrible! You will receive a robot message from myprivia in which you are informed that the appointment has been canceled for no reason, and when you want to call back to reschedule, you cannot talk to anyone on the phone! Sometimes they cancel your appointment an hour before, when you are on your way to the office, and you have already asked to be off from work and unpaid! But if you want to cancel your appointment, you have to do it far ahead, more than 24 hrs; otherwise, you will be charged $50! Good luck if it's during the weekend because you cannot do anything! If you have an emergency and want to notify the office and leave a voicemail, they will not answer back! I had to drive there twice to get in touch with them because they don't answer the phone!!!! Another time the voicemail was full and unable to contact the office at all, I had to go to a regular doctor's office who is not an Obgyn for help, but I got the help I needed, and then I decided to leave this office! I understood why they asked for an advance, and I understood that some people don't pay for various reasons, it wasn't my case, I pay everything I have to, and that's why I accepted, moreover they said that I could use this credit later and it wasn't true, the lady from the financial department lied, this was another reason why I decided to leave this office. I paid all my bills, including the one for the genetic tests and my husband's tests which are sent by a different company; I paid my bills from other offices where they sent me for 2 additional ultrasounds and a doctor's visit because their ultrasound is terrible, they have poor equipment with bad results! I paid a lot of money, and after a while, I started to get bills in the mail from their laboratory stating that I owed a large sum of money, and I asked them 4-5 times to use that deposit/ credit, and I pay the difference that I still have. Both Bethany and the lady from the financial department (the latino) said yes, they would deduct the credit, and they did not! When I left the office and transferred to another ob-gyn, AGAIN, I asked them to use that credit balance and to tell me how much I owed, I went to them personally at the office, and Bethany said yes, she could deduct the credit and told me how much I still have to pay. I gave my credit card, and she deducted from the card the final amount due, which was not even the real amount I was supposed to pay! I found out when I called the Myprivia department that they fooled me and the bill should be paid online only or by check directly to them!!! Otherwise, the money stays in the ob-gyn office! That's a big SCAM! Pay the bills online and do not accept to pay cash upfront or anything as a credit because you will be screwed! At this office, the doctor is unseen, and you are seen by nurses. Some nurses are really nice to you; they will answer your questions (the blood test ladies, or Jennifer Bernabe), but some are really nasty and not helpful; they will ask you to search online for information about pregnancy! The worst medicinal facility I have ever had the sad misfortune of being sent to. Where to begin... I'll begin with Julianna who claims she is in charge. Abhorrent behavior. Rude, her cheeks literally turning blush as she spoke with me while gritting her teeth with attitude when, after I politely waited until the entire line cleared (even everyone that showed up after me), I approached the desk because I was mid-Conversation with another member of their staff when the call was dropped and I never received a call back. It took me less time to get my children ready, drive to their office, wait for the entire room to clear than it did to receive a call back, which never came. unfortunately this is just one of the many occurrences that have happened with this office and I have never once received an apology. Bethany is another rude woman there at the front desk. She likes to giggle when you walk away but says absolutely nothing to you directly. Both of them didn't even wait until I left the facility to gossip about me in front of my 2 children. Again, saying nothing to my face. Shame on them. Cowards. Unprofessional. Bethany actually switched seats with Julianna after not acknowledging me. I was finally acknowledged, and rudely, after several minutes and me speaking up. I have always approached the staff with respect and even kindness in the beginning despite being treated as if I am a problem patient when I am not. I called the office often because I am dealing with uterine issues. It's painful. I am not a problem patient, I am just advocating for my care from the office that is supposed to be providing it. I have been treated like I am such a bother when trying to clarify why one nurse told me a shot should be in my stomach and come back in 2 weeks when the other told me the shot goes in my arm and if I'm not feeling better in 2 days, to immediately come back in. Still no clear answer to that other than they blamed the supposed new girl. Another time I couldn't get in touch with the office for days when I had an allergic reaction to a medication and needed a new one prescribed. I handled the allergic reaction, I know that is not their job, but providing me with a new medication for an infection in my uterus is. I was also misdiagnosed with PCOS. What a stressful 2 weeks that was. Then I got my blood work back and I don't have it. They keep telling me to go to the ER for the pain in my uterus. Which I have told them time and time again I have done. They can't do anything for me because I do not have a fever or rupture. But their office claims there is nothing more than can do for me. They are an OB-Gyn office and I have a reproductive organ issue.. lol... what... They also forgot to give me a Pap smear during my wellness visit. I had to come back a separate time for that. I was only a patient of their office for 2 months and it should have been less. I only made it that long because my husband is only military another 6 months and it's a process to get a referral for a new OB-GYN especially mid-issue. If you know, you know. I have seen people besides myself upset at their office. It's not just me. Save yourself the stress, go anywhere else. I have tried having the actual person in charge get in touch with me, messaged their fb page, they don't care. They'll leave you on hold for 30+ mins just to tell you the nurse won't talk. I do not and will not ever recommend this OB office at all for several experiences that I've had in the short time I've allowed myself to follow this practice. In my time with them, they've wrongfully documented my information which would have influenced my billing if I had not caught the discrepancy in time before they submitted to my insurance; they also did not disclose all necessary information before important appointments which ended up causing them to send me home after waiting in the lobby/back room for over 45 minutes and missing work; have also been unprofessional when scheduling appointments and answering questions; and would schedule visits and change dates of visits without letting me know causing conflict with my job. I only found out when I would receive the appointment reminder text on my phone. I also had a different caregiver when I first started and had come in a few weeks later to find out she no longer worked there. When I asked where she went, I was told that "she couldn't handle the dynamics of the office and quit." My biggest complaint was the issue of it taking SIX tries and 3 different healthcare professionals to unsuccessfully attempt to insert the IUD same day which was extremely painful and uncomfortable only to reschedule for a couple days later and have the doctor come in and insert it without issue in five minutes. Lastly, my IUD insertion card does not even have the right date of insertion or right date for re-insertion for the future. I will never go back and I urge you to look elsewhere when finding a practice to trust with some of your most important female needs. read more

Initially when you walk in, you are greeted with, " ultrasound or lab?" They do not ask whether you have an appointment, what your name is or anything. You sit in the waiting room and look for something that might amount to a system they are following is regards to seeing patients; which apparently does not exist. I would recommend finding other OB care. This is my third pregnancy. I feel as if I am treat as a number here. Hey never tell me what to expect at my next apt. Referred me to EVMS without ever telling me or telling me why?!!!! I never had any complications with my other two pregnancies so here I am a few days after a apt where I was told everything was good getting a phone call from EVMS to set up an apt I ask them why they said I need to call and ask my Ob I call the ob there's nothing in my file..:.. I was beyond upset. Also last apt I showed up apparently it was my sugar test NO ONE had told me this!!!! The NP comes in checks my size and heart beat of baby then tells me if I feel contractions to do this and if they don't stop go to the hospital. I said no I will stay home until my water breaks this is my third pregnancy. She then tells me my water might not break? Then I am sent to wait in the lab lobby for about 30mins for my sugar lab work.... I am changing my OB in my third trimester because I feel not informed. read more
