I started using the Pet Apothecary to get my Sasha Beagle's antibiotics for a bladder infection as…read morethe multiple human pharmacies I tried were very confused by the prescription. The good people here filled the prescription quickly and I was able to pick up immediately. This pet pharmacy compounds their own medications and can make them in a variety of forms (liquid, pill) and add flavors to make administering much easier for pet owners. Sasha was recently diagnosed with TCC (transitional cell carcinoma) and must have a special prescription that had filled here. I am confident with the staff's knowledge and resources, that they will continue to provide excellent service for as long as I need to obtain my peanut's special medicine. When a vet calls/faxes in a prescription, a staff member will call first to verify and inform you of the price. I am unaware of what market prices are for the medications I have gotten filled, but I do know that Clavomax was MUCH cheaper here than through the vet office (like 1/3 or less the cost). The only issue I have encountered is the hours - they are only open 10a-5:30pm Monday through Thursday, and Friday until 4pm. With my work schedule, it can be difficult getting there before they close to pick up my pup's Rx. Of course, my baby comes 1st so I will do what it takes to get there!

Once you're in and doing the job it's not that bad. The only thing bad about the job itself is the clients being incredibly rude and you literally get screamed at either on the phone or in person. Now, let's get to the staff. Some are nice, some are two faced. One of the customer service reps walks around like she's a manager when she in no way shape or form has the title. But, speaking of managers. Lets talk about the head pharmacist who doesn't like to deal with client complaints, and talks down to you because you did all you could before trying to get her involved, and when you got her involved in said client/customer complaint she doesn't want to deal with it. Oh, and don't expect her to be at her desk located in the compounding area, she likes to hide away in her office and barely help the other pharmacists. Her attitude is very rude and passive as well. It seems like most of the staff come and go as they please, show up whenever they want and blame it on their children. But when YOU bring up personal life issues happening outside of work that you either have called in for or need to leave early for its okay at the time, but when in reality it's not. The company is backwards and quickly going down hill now that optio took over. Anyone who reads this review can clearly tell I'm a former employee who was done wrong and dirty. My advice, don't get your compound medication for your pet at this pharmacy. Go through Chewy or another source. They are over priced and honestly don't care about your pets health. ‍

While he can be anxious during grooming, multiple professional groomers have handled him without any issues. This staff clearly lacks the training or patience to work with anything other than a perfectly compliant dog. They shaved him down before even bathing him! Then called me about an hour later to pick him up because he was "difficult." He received no bath, no nail trim, no proper grooming--nothing--yet they still charged me. Charging for an incomplete, failed service is unacceptable. The groomer was rude and dismissive, even suggesting I "take him to the vet since he is "old" which made no sense given that this same business groomed him six months ago without any problem. No other groomer has ever had an issue with him. The manager was equally unprofessional and showed zero empathy, repeatedly stating, "You were given a service so we charged you half," instead of addressing the situation. My dog was also left sitting in a kennel before they even attempted grooming, despite us arriving on time. He came back visibly stressed and shaked and basically traumatized. No wonder people are running away from chain pet stores for services. This place should not be offering grooming. They're not equipped to handle different pets. I strongly recommend going elsewhere

While I was there I looked at the cats for adoption and inquired about the adoption process and I was surprised at how easy it is and a filly fixed 3 year old cat with all its vaccines is only $40, I have been adopting cats for years from shelters and never paid that little ever so it's very affordable. The young woman with the glasses was very helpful on the adoption process and I asked some questions that the regular person probably wouldn't ask and she was honest about not having the knowledge on some of my questions. I got a discount as a first time customer on their site and the filter was promised to be delivered in one day. We left for dinner that evening where I received an email and a text stating that my order had been delivered. On returning home and searching both entrance areas I found no order anywhere on our property. I did chat with their service representative, who looked up the order and agreed that it had been listed as delivered, but there was no attending photo on the text or email which was their usual requirement. He replaced the order at no charge and it was delivered promptly the next day. It was disappointing that the item hadn't arrived as promised due to either the DoorDash driver not fulfilling their responsibility or delivering it to the wrong address. But the service PetCo provided via their service representative was exceptional. This won't stop me from ordering items from PetCo in the future.
