My wife and I stopped in for a quick look around while we were getting to know the neighborhood a bit and ended up walking out with a heavy bag full of goodies. We were instantly greeted by the kind folks here and they made sure to welcome us to Bayview right away. The shop has everything you could need for your pet, and the staff here are knowledgeable and extremely friendly/helpful. We told them we were just getting a few things in anticipation for our pup that we'll be officially adopting in July, and picked up a treat and a clip-on dog waste bag carrier. As we were checking out, they asked us our dog's name and had a tag made for him on the spot. On top of that, we got a free bag of puppy food as a part of their current customer appreciation event. I've never been more instantly sold on a store before. We don't get our dog for another 2 weeks and I already can't wait to bring him here! This was the first of what I'm sure will be MANY visits, and I am beyond happy a spot like this will be so close to our new apartment.

Best pet store ever. Ever. In. Life. They will probably love your dog more than you do. Really. Might be possible. They will remember your name and especially your dog's name. They are really knowledgeable and can provide detailed information on the products that they carry and suggestions on pets and pet products in general. They are pretty much Siri, Alexa and Google for things pet related. They know all the stuff and all of the things. They have punch cards for cans of dog food. I love businesses with punch cards! It's old school now isn't it? Is it so old it's like a 90's early 2000's thing? I still love punch cards for all their old school, pre-electronic utility. They even let you combine punch cards if you're anything like me and you have twenty three and a half punch cards in your various wallets and clutches. Best customer service ever. Ever. Do you want to experience dog friendly Milwaukee? Go to Mac's! Do you want to experience a sense of community in the Bay View neighborhood? Go to Mac's! Sometimes Mac is found napping in the store. He's a sweet, relaxed soul with that little bump in the middle of his head like many dogs have. What is that little point anyway? My Sully beagle had it too.

Such a fun selection of small dog plush toys!

Probably my only vacations this year will be to drive myself to visit my daughter in Bayview, Milwaukee due to COVID-19. We are both greatly limiting our shopping in person, but it was my dog's birthday, and I had heard that Mac's Pet Depot Barkery was doing an excellent job with Covid safety. This was accurate, I'm very happy to report. When you enter the store, the owner's pleasant greeting was accompanied by a request to use the hand sanitizer station just inside the door, which we gladly did. It was the day that Hamilton was being released on Disney+, and the other employee was singing the songs. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Best of all, I found two amazing toys for my dog at surprisingly low prices. Even the store dog, Mala, with her adorable one ear up and one down, was smiling and happy to inspect and approve my choices. I had forgotten to bring dog treats from home, and my dog loves the chicken medallion treats sold individually at the register, so I could buy just enough to carry her through the 3 day weekend. Masks required. We had them on, because we have sense. I didn't see if they had any to provide. Go and treat your furry friend at this well run business. Pure pleasure.

    Mac waiting for a treat - he's the owner's dog :-)

**just went into the store today to discuss with a manager (she claimed she reviewed video footage…read moreof the incident) and I was told that I was the problem (the customer) and that under previous management the store was losing $50,000 and that they are so much better now. She told me that nothing would be changing and that the employee had every right to keep yelling at me even after I asked her to stop 40-50 times. Then, AFTER another customer walked in - as we were speaking - she then said that the employees would be written up and that she would have a discussion with them and they would be 'disciplined'.** Seems to be a lot of over sharing, lack of control/management, and customer service in general. What a shame. I am not the first person to hear of this behavior at this store as of recent. Complaint against: Bentleys Pet Stuff 2352 E Oklahoma Ave Milwaukee, WI 53207 Date: Monday 05/11/2026 Approximate time: 4:45 p.m. Employees: the two women with fluorescent pink hair working at this time (I have been shopping here loyally for approximately 8-9 years.) Situation: I walked into purchase cat food with my 10-year-old son, who wanted to buy cat treats. We looked around and did not see any, so I asked the employees (who had been sitting by the front door on a bench on their cell phones when we walked in), and their response (both talking to me at the same time) was a complete rundown of how ordering works, delivery for the store, how much stock they have in the back, why it's not out because they got it in that day, etc. At this point, I asked her to please stop and just finish checking me out. She then continues by asking for my phone number for loyalty. I give her the first three, the second three, then gave the last four digits. She typed in 5-2, then proceeded to pause, and so I repeated the last two: 7-0. She then says, "Excuse me, but I heard you the first time. I really don't need you saying it again to me." I then say, "This, sucks. I have been shopping here for almost 10 years, and I have never not seen cat treats, but have always been offered a solution, nor have I been spoken to/experienced this." She then (the shorter one with the bright pink braided hair, not the tall one with short hair and piercings) begins yelling at me, all while the other employee joined in - at this point, I am simply repeating "please stop" probably 40-50 times all while she is yelling at me still, and the other one is just standing there smiling at her. I then point to my son and then look at her and say, "Really with my son here," and she keeps yelling. I keep saying, "Please stop." She eventually gets to the check-out part and she tells me, "You know you can pay now, right? Let's go." And I say, "It's not up yet. I will when it's ready." While I am taping my card to pay, she says, "You know you came at us, so that's why this is happening." At which point I grab my cat food and instruct my son to walk out, and when doing so, I say, "I just want you to know I will be reaching out to District to file a complaint. As the door is closing, they both scream, "HOPEFULLY (and I am pretty sure b*tch!)."   I genuinely will never shop there again, and that sucks. When Izzy was managing the store, that NEVER happened; nothing even remotely like it happened. The fact that they spoke to me like this as employees, screamed at me, all in front of my son-- over cat treats and me asking them to keep checking out, then repeating "please stop" 40-50 times-- is just mind-blowing. When we got in the car, my son said, "I didn't think people that work at a store can talk like that. I was so upset I wanted to say something for them to stop. I am sorry that happened to you, Mom."   I would really love a phone call or something to get this sorted.

The whole staff was so kind and excited when I showed up with my dog. They offered some treats to make him comfortable, and let me wander in peace while he got his nails trimmed in back. They did a great job trimming his black nails down to a shorter length and filing them so they weren't sharp. Might be one if the best nail trims I've found in the city. We will definitely be wandering back!

It was 97 degrees today, and he was dropped off for his grooming appointment at 8:30 a.m. He has never taken more than 4 hours to groom. I hear nothing by 1:30 and call them to see what's going on. The groomer acts INCREDIBLY shady when I check in and tells me it's taking long because he has "a lot of hair" I even told her "This feels really uncomfortable" and she laughs and assures me all is well. I should have known then. By 4PM, I again still hadn't received a single phone call, text, or update. After nine years of regular grooming, no groomer has ever kept him anywhere close to that long. I completely understand that giant breeds are physically demanding to groom, which is why I always tip generously--typically 40% or more. I've even had groomers ask if I was sure I meant to leave that much. My gut was screaming at me to go check on my dog so I did. I rush over to discover that my dog has been sitting in the back ALL day and they were only just beginning to start his cut. AFTER EIGHT HOURS. Instead of receiving a sincere apology, I was met with excuse after excuse: the groomer was new, he has a lot of hair, giant dogs take longer, etc. The manager was so incredibly nasty and dismissive, and the groomer even giggled during our conversation. "I told you I was junior hehe!" as if I heard her or even knew what that was supposed to mean. If it takes you three days to groom a dog maybe reconsider your profession. What was borderline abusive is what happened after I left. My dog immediately pulled me toward the nearest patch of grass and desperately needed to go to the bathroom. After being there for eight hours, it was clear he hadn't had a potty break ALL day. He is a SENIOR DOG. No dog should be left in a crate for an entire workday without communication to the owner. If they were running that far behind, someone should have called so I could have picked him up or rescheduled. Instead, he spent the day waiting while I had no idea what was happening. They clearly do not know how to manage their appointments and all of the dogs pay the cosequences in their grooming sweatshop. My dog was EXHAUSTED, so thirsty and so hungry for being forced to stay there ALL DAY while they took dog after dog instead of him. SHAME ON YOU PETCO. I won't be returning, and I strongly encourage other pet owners to stay far away as they obviously do not care. They tried to block my Petco account so I couldn't provide feedback but don't worry gals - I'll share my story across every platform I can find.

I've been here on many occasions and rarely leave without something to bring home to one of my three aquariums and/or our backyard pond. They have a vast array of freshwater aquarium fish, snails etc, as well as salt water, and fish for outdoor ponds (you'll make your way out the back door for this). They have pond plants, aquarium plants, rocks, driftwood, and more. Pretty much everything you might need for your set up or to get set up, they have. They are well staffed and their staff is incredibly knowledgeable. If you're unsure what you're looking for, or having an issue with your aquarium that has left you flummoxed, they can definitely help you through it. One of my favorite things is they have all their plants well labeled (beginner, intermediate, advanced), so you know which ones might require special lighting or co2. This is so helpful to ensure your aquarium is thriving. The only thing I'll mention is their fish prices are a little higher than some of the other aquarium spots in town. It's nice, because they're a one stop shop with everything you need. But, something to be aware of. Big fan of this spot! Get to it!

I've had the good fortune to volunteer at these and after servicing roughly 900 pets at a recent clinic, I was thrilled to have done something so impactful.
