After spending many months searching high and low for a boat that was just right for me, and having several bad experiences with dealers I had made up my mind I was going to look for private sellers so at least I had a chance of not being taken advantage of. A friend who was helping me came across a boat for sale at a dealer in Osprey and suggested we go take a look. It was an hour drive to a dealer, but I hesitantly agreed Although the boat we went to look at was a little rough cosmetically I was confident I could bring her back to her former glory. Since I first bought my Parker boat powered by a 115 hp yamaha outboard I could not find a repair shop to service it and explain the work I that had to be done. Matt called me on a daily basis explaining what had to be done. When I picked up my boat he showed me parts that had never been changed by previous mechanics,. I went into my files the bills never showed that Matt's work (and he showed me the parts had never been replaced). Three out of four sparks showed no replacement. Met Matt and the guys when I needed an emergency plug for my pontoon. They did not have the plug I needed for permanent fix, but they provided me with a plug and helped me dig out broken plug. Matt actually called me when another dealer didn't respond to my carolina boat build-a-boat inquiry. He was very easy to talk to on the phone, gave me more time than would be expected, just came across as the kinda guy you would want to do business with. So much so that my next free day i drove down(he didnt know i was coming) to meet him. again - he impressed with his patience - considering i had recently herniated a disc and didnt know when i would be able to make a boat purchase. he made recommendations - what options were worth it/which weren't - the Marine Outlet Center is not right around the corner from my home base but I'm thinking the trip may be worth it. My hurricane deck boat was having an electrical problem preventing it from starting. After having two different mechanics come out to the house and look at it, I finally found Marine Outlet Center - they came out, and within a few minutes had the boat up and running - turns out it was a loose positive cable to the motor block. While they were at the house, the also replaced the fuel filter, which due to a model change, required new fuel lines to be run - I have no idea how they were able to hook up some of those fuel lines given the tight spaces within the engine.
