After I had the mechanical work done, I called Wally up, again, to get my boat detailed. Inexpensive again, but not cheap! The work was excellent. The outside of the boat looked as good as when I purchased the boat used a few years back. The white was WHITE and the blue was BLUE again... all buffed and gorgeous! I whole heartedly recommend Wally's Marine. One more thing, no attitude. Wally is a real, salt of the earth, kind soul. I enjoy working with him.

This is a Grade A, world class, first class experience - thank you! We could not be happier with our decision to join. The children started in the pool and hot tub while the dads got the boat and dock orientation. Moms were chilling by the pool, enjoying conversation and pool side beverages. Our boat was brand new, super clean and ready. It had all the modern features including navigation, mood lights and a wireless phone charger. The dock side changing room, showers and bathroom are super clean, well appointed and require a members' code to use. Gunnar and the dock team helped us get on board and leave the dock. We cruised directly to Meredith and loved seeing the town from the water. Then back to Akwa then out again past Governor's Island, the Witches and into the Broads. We had the lake mostly to ourselves and everyone loved the views and quiet engine. Then we sped back to Akwa for conversations, cocktails, dinner, swimming in the pool, playing volleyball, bocce and the hot tub. Our Recommendations: Lobster Roll & Calamari. When I arrived, everyone seemed to be on their lunch break and annoyed by the "interruption" of my visit. They quickly had me sign the receipt and sent me on my way with my boat. They failed to mention that they did not put the BATTERY back in the boat. (Not sure how they tested it after the tuneup if they never put the battery back in the boat). Anyway, it was not until the boat was off of the trailer, and sitting at the boat launch dock trying to turn the thing on (on a lake that was 30 minutes away from the Marina) that I noticed they failed to put the battery back in the boat. When a call was placed to ask that they rectify the situation, I was told that no one was available to bring the battery to us, and that we would have to come down and pick it up. The owner would not speak to me because he was too busy "showing a boat". Seeing that it was 4th of July weekend and one hour had already been wasted waiting for calls back from the marina, we pushed the battery-less boat back onto the trailer... a very aggravating inconvenience.... and headed down to the marina. The owner then called us back as we were en route and instead of starting off with an apology, he said that he wasn't going to listen to me yell at him. Not the best way to handle an aggravated customer before even giving them the chance to speak. He also told me that the paper work I signed said that the battery was still charging and I should have checked it before I drove off with the boat. SERIOUSLY??? I'm sorry, but please forgive me for assuming that when someone tells me the boat is "ready", it means that the battery is back in place and connected. He also was stupid enough to tell me that the battery in the boat was old and it was on its last leg. I told him that we had another problem, because I purchased the battery FROM HIM last year. When we arrived, the owner (who was visibly annoyed) walked us right over to our charging battery and pointed at it, saying nothing. I looked at him and said... "Yes?" He said "We don't sell this battery so you didn't purchase it here." This was VERY interesting to find out, seeing that I said "hello" to the gentleman (Tim) who had installed it for me last year at that marina. When I asked to see a copy of that receipt, (because there were clearly even more issues with his operation than I previously thought) he quickly said that all of last year's receipts were at home. So I'm still left here wondering whose "old battery" he sold to me last year, if they do not carry or sell the type that he put in my boat.

It is run by a very sweet, kind, friendly yet professional and accommodating young family. Jessica and Bob are wonderful as is their office person, Ginny. They are always happy to help in any way they can. Nothing ever seems to be a bother to any of them and they treat everyone with the same friendly smile and respect. We purchased our beautiful new pontoon, last year, from Melvin Village - who, BTW, made the entire process non-complex - they were simply FABULOUS! Torn between renting a mooring or going "valet"was our most difficult decision but when meeting those at Ambrose Cove - it couldn't have been easier and we could not be any happier. We have needed some boat service. It was all done timely and has always been top notch. The valet service is simple and convenient. I LOVE IT!!!! We also store our boat here in the winter and after our first winter - well, we will have many more coming! Whenever we show up at the marina it's like showing up at a family member's home (you know - family that you WANT to visit LOL). They are always so upbeat, friendly and naturally make us feel so welcome.
