This review starts over 20 years ago. My partner, who is a sailor and has her Captain's papers, purchased place mats that were essentially charts of local waters. Someone borrowed them. They were never returned. Five years ago, she got back to Anacortes, but the store was closed while she was there (2020 and all that madness). Quick advance to September 2025, she had to drive round looking for the store, we finally found it close to a shipyard, but its doors were closed for good. There happened to be a note on one of the doors, giving us the address where the store had relocated. Not only did she find the place mats that she'd lost, but much more... I went into the store after she returned to the car (puppy to tend to), and I found a number of things I was looking for: old coins, nautical stuff, old photos, a veritable treasure trove. This entered my list of places to revisit, and I'll be sure to find a new supply of snarky magnets (which I leave on the refrigerator door of a few deserving victims... heh heh heh). Nice place. Excellent selection, lots to see, more to buy. Enjoyed talking with the proprietress. read more

This cool store at the bottom of Commercial Street is a must-stop whenever I visit Anacortes. It's not necessarily because I need anything specific, or that I'm buying supplies for my boat (oops, I don't have a boat). This is just one of those places that's fun to wander around in. They have everything from antiques, to reproductions (um, the green glassware almost got me!), to new items to (yes) stuff for your beach/boat lifestyle. I find myself wandering around the store fantasizing about decorating my home to look like the cover of the latest issue of Coastal Living. There's also a curious giganto wall o' tiny boxes of random boat parts and hardware, much of which looks like it's been stacked there for centuries. So if you have an oldddd boat, you might find that bolt you need here, too! And while you're there, grab a Gilligan's Island metal sign and a crabpot too. They've got it all! read more

What a great day it was to re-discover Anacortes and one of its shopping and browsing cornerstones: Marine Supply & Hardware, which also houses The Alley Cat. Eclectic, intriguing, historical with new and salvaged items as well as practical supplies, clothing & garden decor. Not the huge inventory of its previous incarnations, but certainly worthy of a shopping bag (or two). And Coffee - roasted to order in the store. Added bonus is the location: it's like a perfect bookend at the end of the main street. Take time to park & walk a few blocks so you can enjoy the water views. Great proximity to some local trails as well! A big thanks also to store hosts Terri and Joanne; pretty sure they can locate any (inventory) item in under 2 minutes! The shop workers are awesome and they LITERALLY have a little bit of everything. I was in search for a telephone cord and bam, they pulled out a box of them! Prices are great and I couldn't suggest a better place if visiting the area. read more

Super funky store with everything you might need and even more that you didn't know you needed. They have a zillion hardware items, gloves, limited boating clothing, many boat items, flags, pulleys, glass fishing floats etc. that could also be great as general decor for seaside home or marine/fish themed restaurant/movie set. Really cool. Didn't interact with staff in this part of the store, but my ego can tolerate slightly aloof demeanour. Water off a duck. read more

Wow! I've never experienced sure a rude unprovoked individual (probably the store owner, who knows). Accidentally bumped into her while trying to pass her and she glared at me like I just butchered the store cat. I'm floored. Such a bizarre experience but we promptly left with no intention of ever returning. BTW, the store looked like it could have been cool but we didn't make it past the front desk. read more

I like this place, they have some old, and very little new, and some very very old! If I owned a jalopy of a boat we would be best friends, but I don't. They have a bunch of recyclable crap, and some newer crap, but the best is the antique crap. Yes the prices are steep but this shit is for a boat! If you're stupid enough to buy a boat, I highly recommend you wheelbarrow your money down here, they've got it all, and they love you@! read more

My favorite! A sailors IKEA for sure! I told my wife once we buy our house that I am purposely going to fly to Anacortes, rent a Uhaul and max out the credit card to furnish my study and yard. I might even buy the naked bowspirit and strap it to the hood for the road trip back to LA. Great people and a gem of a store! read more

Very unhelpful the guy at the counter acted like Why am I wasting his time. I could tell by his attitude that he wasn't going to help me. I will never spend a penny in this place read more
