worst experience I have ever encountered stored my boat here in September 2025 1st: I paid for a full detail $791.00 have to use their detail company or they charge 20% fee for you to get your own detail service, asked them to call me about half an hour before it was completed so I could come and inspect it before they stored it away. received a call informing me that it's all done and they were putting it back in place (storage rack) came the following Sunday to take my boat out and the detailing was not done properly, particulars of shells were in the floor, storage areas never clwaned, garbage still in the trash cans. terribly dirty. They said oh my goodness don't worry about it will get it recleaned. they did that thank God. 3 weeks later I take my boat out on Sunday return to the marina and che back in to have it cleaned up and put back on the storage rack, I get a call on Friday from the dock master (Che) asking me "what I was going to do with my boat? I said what do you mean, he said "it's been sitting in the water since Sunday" they had neglected to take it out of the water! they said "oh our mistake, we'll get the bottom cleaned up from it sitting in the water". I came back to the Marina to see if they had actually done this and guess what, another terrible job! they said oh sorry we're going to get it cleaned again! which they did luckily. last straw was a week later I came on Sunday to take it out, and theres dirty boot prints from the strain to the bow! Total disregard how they take care of your property. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND KEEPING YOUR BOAT HERE! Obviously management could care less how their employees treat your property read more

Very poor service. Have requested warranty repairs on Boston Whaler (Marine Max Fort Myers only authorized Boston Whaler rep in area) for literally years that have still not been repaired. Emails go unanswered. Do not use for service. Have needed to go directly to Boston Whaler to get anything done and repairs still not done. read more

My boat was shipped by a trailer that needed a crane to remove from truck. After it came off I called to tell them what time I was heading over. A nice young man moved it to a place it was easier to tow with my truck. Hooked it up and was on my way. Will consider keeping it in w water there. read more

This company got involved in my personal life. They loan trucks to personal workers who used it off the clock and used it to empty my home.

Absolutely the worst customer service of ANY company I have ever dealt with. Dan in service job is to delay, not return phone calls and to blame the customer. My Sea Ray 270 SLX needed extensive repairs last year, rot in the transom 6 months later finally got the boat back. Agreed that when the motor was out to go over everything, belt hoses, replaced the risers and manifold. Since getting boat back it has been towed in twice, had dock side service twice. Much of the service work promised by dealer was NOT preformed. Rotted hoses left on motor, raw sea water pump was to be service never touched. Plug were to be changed never touched. If you want to get ripped off go to MarineMax and regret the decision forever. The actual repair to the transom was done properly but that is where the quality stopped, everything mechanically was a disaster. read more

The service department is not competent or ethical. Our Sea Ray was there for two and a half months and we spent a significant amount of money on repairs and maintenance. Our boat was filthy when it was available to be picked up. Items that we requested to be replaced were not done. Items that we were CHARGED FOR were not done. Repairs that were done failed when we were using our boat, disabling one of the engines. We were charged for maintenance that did not need to be done. When we complained to the general manager, Ryan West, he assigned a "MASTER" technician to correct the problems. Mr. West told us that he would give us a written warranty on all the repairs that were done and that we would be 100% satisfied. Sounds great, right? The "MASTER" technician did not know that there are different temperature rated thermostats which was an issue on our boat. The "MASTER" technician didn't know how to operate the trim tabs on our boat and bent them when the boat was lifted out of the water. We are now about six months into the Marinemax Ft. Myers repair saga. Repair operations that they have performed have failed causing more damage. The "MASTER" technician no longer responds to us. Mr. West's personal assistant reaches out to us to see if we're satisfied. When we tell her about the problems there is no further response. Surprise, there is no written warranty or 100% satisfaction guarantee. Find a competent and ethical repair facility and save yourself the problems and money that we've spent. You know when the top guy lies to you, that's the personality of the marina! read more

Had an incident out on river where we started taking on water. Sheriff's department showed up with pump. Asked where they could tow us. Said Marine Max. Thought to myself good luck getting help late Sunday afternoon. Met by 3 dock hands and operator. Boat lifted out of the water within minutes. Could not believe the great attitude these guys had, it was fantastic. When your one of the big boys, we tend to hear more negative comments. Thank You MarineMax read more

Took my boat in for replacement of boat deck fill/filler. Great service and friendly staff. Dealt with Kyle, Adam and Marty, they were awesome. It was very difficult to replace the part due to poor access on the inside of hull, but they were able to finally get to it. I was on a fishing vacation with my two sons In Captiva and could not get the popup fuel cap to come off and neither could anyone else. I took my boat to them early Saturday morning and they were able to get me back in the water within a few hours and saved the weekend trip. read more

We keep our boat at this marina. We came here to have inside storage. That was 3 years ago, we are still outside. Initially I was underwhelmed. But they have stepped up their game. Plenty of parking, a nice ships store at the gas dock and clean facilities, including showers and a little game room with water and coffee. The addition of the restaurant has been wonderful as well. I love the staff at the dock, they are warm and welcoming everyone tries very hard to be helpful. The downside to this marina has always been In maintenance department. I can't understand how you have this great marina and cannot get your boat repaired without waiting months and selling off organs to pay for it! If you have to wait that long to even have your boat looked at, you are seriously understaffed! As members you should pay less not more for repairs, it should be one of the benefits of being a member$!$ The other possible downside is location as you still have to travel through miserable mile to get to the gulf. On the up side, it's well marked from the water and easy to find. We are hoping to be able to join in on one of the excursions that they have. We are also hoping that they add a pool and bar!! read more

My sister had her boat repaired at MarineMax 14 months ago for a total bill of over $11,000. They pulled the engine and did major work on it and in that process replaced the starter. Since the repair the boat has been driven an additional 31 hours. In November my sister called them to say the starter sounded funny. The person spoken to said they were overwhelmed with repairs then but to call back in a couple of months. She was assured they would come out to do a dockside repair of the issue. She waited the two months, called again and now the service manager states it's out of warranty. Upon our further inspection of the starter we found that one of the bolts holding it on was laying in the hull of the boat. The bolt appears to have been over torqued and snapped off upon installation. In order to repair the starter the engine needs to come out of the boat!! Needless to say we are very dissatisfied with the service department. We will be taking the broken bolt back to them to see if they'll stand behind their repair and if they do, I will write a follow up review. read more

Several years ago I bought a 47 foot Yacht from Marine Max. While under warranty they called and said the STARBOARD SIDE EXHAUST HOSE had a recall and they needed to change it. So they had sent a mechanic out from Marine Max to make the recall repair at my house on a Tuesday. He was at my home in Cape Coral for about 2 hours. Rang the doorbell said he was done took the old hose with him. That Saturday I took the my family and friends on a yacht ride down to Naples we had 4 kids and 8 adults on board when we left our home. We idled out thru our canal out to river, then idled thru the miserable mile. When I brought Yacht up to plain, the alarms and pump switches went off. I shut down Yacht ran down the stairs open the hatch and water was rising extremely fast. I went back up to the bridge Started yacht and floored it. Note: We were in 22 FOOT OF WATER!! I was able to move to approximately about 6 feet of water before the water completely covered the engines, and flooded my Yacht. The 4 CHILDREN and 8 Adults were rescued by Coast Guard. Thank God I was able to keep calm and think fast and tried to run aground. When both Sea Tow & Boat USA came with pumps to try to pump Yacht water out they were unable to. So they called to send a Diver down and they found the problem. The STARBOARD SIDE EXHAUST HOSE CAME OFF!! They pushed it back on and tighten down the T Clamps. They were never tightened by the Mechanic from MARINE MAX. My Insurance company came out to look at Yacht a few days later. They sent out a highly skilled Surveyor out to look at Yacht were they towed it to down by Fort Myers Beach. They also concluded that MARINE MAX mechanic didn't tighten clamps down, install support straps, which was the cause of my yacht sinking. The Surveyor also obtained specs from Yacht company manufacturer. That clearly read its a 5 Hour Job to replace STARBOARD SIDE EXHAUST HOSE!!!! So I checked my Surveillance Cameras at my house to download the video of the MARINE MAX Employee at work. He was at my house 2 Hours and five minutes. Smoked 5 cigarettes, and made 4 Cell Phone calls. In total he worked 45 minutes on a 5 hour Job! I thank God that we were not far out into the Gulf or I may not be here to write this review. I was told by Marine Max because of What Happen to my Family and I they would sell me a New yacht of my choice at cost when I was ready. Well after our Yacht was a total loss it took a few years, for my family and I to get over the shock of our 1 year old Yacht sinking with our friends and kids on board. We found a Galeon 460 fly at the boat show in Miami last week. That we wanted to buy but.......THEY REFUSED TO GIVE US YACHT AT COST, THEIR WORDS MEAN NOTHING JUST TO KEEP ME QUITE! WE ARE IN SHOCK.
