( that's a great boat day!) we saw dolphin and lots of birds near Lover's Key. It was a beautiful day so the boat handled well with little waves. There are crazy winds here today. Earlier a run-down sailboat with no apparent power slipped from a nearby anchorage and drifted out of control near us and other boats tied up. Somehow it managed to get near the fuel dock and least 5 of the staff came running down the dock and tied the boat safely on the fuel dock. Not only did they likely save him from a worse situation, they prevented him from causing damage to other boats. The wind was HOWLING, it was POURING and I was amazed at how brave and capable this staff was. They then went to several boats (including ours) to help tie extra lines. This marina was everything we needed and more as we blew a belt on our engine just outside of the bay. The staff went out of their way to help us with on site service. The staff is accommodating and keeps the marina spotless. The amenities are just what weary seafarers need, clean bathhouse, laundry, grill, outdoor eating area, mobile pump out, fuel and an easy enjoyable walk into downtown Ft Myers Beach shops, restaurant and entertainment. what a great experience! i'm with my family in Ft. Myers for vacation, and we decided to rent a boat for the afternoon. Lots of places had boats for rent, but Moss Marine had the best looking fleet, and like someone else mentioned, the boats don't have big billboards on them. Our pontoon was a nearly brand new Manitou - excellent condition, ran perfectly, nice stereo system, etc. The service is great, the location was really good for doing boating in the bay, etc. Just cannot say enough good things about the experience. We were sailing south in the Gulf and we're having some minor engine issues. We docked at Moss Marine for the night and started working on the problems in the morning. The staff was very, very helpful! They told us where we could get supplies if they didn't have it to hand. We were able to get fuel right there and they lent us a dolly to move some heavier things around. The showers and bathrooms were very clean and there was a lounge area that was air conditioned and comfortable. We had a great experience there and would definitely visit again if we were in the area. Also, we accidentally left a small toiletry bag, but didn't notice until we were over 100nm away. This past weekend, I brought guests down to Bunche Beach to check it out and have some lunch. I have a pair of Seadoo racing jetskis and I'm an avid rider, however, the other driver is not. I anchored my jetski off the beach and talked the other driver through how to anchor and what to look out for in the process. Just as I'm explaining to make sure and not let the jetski ride over the anchor line - zip! - it was gone. Completely wrapped itself around the impeller shaft in a matter of 2 seconds. Fortunately, I yelled to pull the engine cutoff and got it shutdown before damage was done. This being my first time having this issue, I started looking at what my options were on a Sunday afternoon. Sea Tow would have been a nightmare, no local dealers were open on Sunday to even come help me. I decided to tow it over to Moss Marina using my other jetski. The dock hand met me at their floating dock and guided me into a wide slip that I could maneuver both skis into easily. I explained to him what had happened and he called for the marina manager, Gary, to come talk to me about what options I had. Gary met me dockside and we talked through options. I pulled it around so Chris, the lift operator, could lift it out of the water and we could see what we were dealing with. Chris moved it out and we got underneath and saw the anchor line and hook jammed up in the impeller. Gary immediately jumped into action and we started removing things to get to the obstructions. We were met with many obstacles, the biggest being the hook at the end of the anchor line being wedged in and the only way we could free it was to remove the jet cover and IBR system to be able to push the hook through the backside. Gary and Chris worked with me for hours to methodically take everything apart and free the obstruction. Once freed, we were all ecstatic that we could put it all back together. Chris moved it up and down on the lift to give Gary and I the right angles to work on things and we got everything put back together and back in the water to test it. It fired right up and ran perfectly. By this point it was well after the marina had closed and Chris and Gary had stayed late to help me work on something neither of them had ever encountered and worked as diligently as I did to get it running again. They could have told me sorry, move along. They could have charged me a ton of money knowing I was stranded. They were extremely affordable and exceptional guys to work with. But, Gary and Chris both went above and beyond and have a loyal customer for life. read more

My rating is based on my experience with Moss Boat Dealership. Several issues are relevant if your considering purchase from Moss. The first is they are no longer a Yamaha certified outboard dealership so the no longer can do any warranty work on Yamaha outboards. Second, Evinrude went out of business so Evinrude outboard support can be an issue. I purchased a NEW Manitou SHP boat with a 200HP Yamaha outboard from Moss. Its taken over a year to get all the warranty work completed( Corrosion on all seat and table pedestals, gauges fogged since new, horn never worked). Covid hasn't helped the supply and demand stream. The first week after purchase they needed to Re-weld the seam on one of the pontoons(Tritoon) since it was filling up with water. Repeat attempts (5) to fix a transom bilge pump (around 4 more weeks of downtime at the marina). Yamaha starter went on the outboard I found another Marina and had the boat towed to fix it after the boat sat at Moss for a week. I could add more but simply tired of complaining, there's a fair amount of human error and they have tried to make it right with the "tools" they've been given. Notice the dates of the reviews 2-7 years ago and none are boat purchases, except the 11/19/2020 review (same rating). I'm still waiting on an additional Bimini cover issue, and will like re-review after resolution. They had had significant personnel turnover for the past two years. There have some good people who are trying hard but they need business management support to become much better at customer service. For fuel at the dock the service is good. I still buy fuel at Moss. read more

My rating is on the boat dealership side of this business. We bought a band new, expensive boat at the end of May. They sold the boat to me without disclosing that the 300hp Evinrude no longer had a production company behind their motor. In fact, this motor was pushed heavily on me. Now that may not have mattered much if the new motor on my new boat ran and never had an issue, but that's not the case for me. 12 days after picking the boat up, the motor blew. I understand that things happen, but the effort this dealer put forth was an embarrassmant to anyone providing customer service. The amount of times I was lied to is unreal. Commitments were missed, communication was non-existent unless I followed up multiple times...Ultimately the motor had a powerhead replaced months after going down. Shortly after getting the boat back, another service call for what ultimately was incompetence on installing the motor. After getting the motor back, the unit clearly was missing power it had when I bought it. I bought a ~50mph tritoon that now won't crack 40mph. I set up another appointment to get this looked at. 2 weeks of it sitting in the shop 'due to weather' and several follow up calls later, they finally decided that there are no codes so nothing is wrong. They acknowledge that it lacks the speed and power it should have, but the owner of this business says there is nothing they can do and to pick the boat up. This is a highly shortened review summarizing my experience. I wish someone wrote something like this when I was researching this dealer, but all of the reviews are for their rental company or fuel dock. If you want to do business with someone that treats even 1 of their customers like this...well...yikes. read more

A few years ago my husband and I stayed here for a winter on our sailboat. It was fantastic and we loved this place. We always said this is where we would return if we were to be back in Ft. Myers area.We have heard there are new owners and after this experience we know why they are the only marina left on Estero that still has slips available in the middle of the busy season. First of all the rate doubled. We were willing to pay though because we loved this facility. My husband called ahead and secured a slip. He got in last night and this morning was told that we were not allowed to stay. The reason given to him was that they only allow boats that are fully functional. I don't understand because he just sailed it there from Marco Island. Maybe if our boat was run down looking I would get it, but it's nothing of the sort. Plus they have a boat sitting there with no mast. You can't tell me that boat is fully functional. What a bummer that such a great place has turned to this. If you are thinking of docking in Ft. Myers Beach just forget this place is even here!!! read more
