I sometimes like to ask for a recommendation when I can't decide and Iona's tip was spot on. The cocktail menu is extensive; there's something for all tastes. This was delicious. - Not too spicy, not too sweet. Followed up by the cherry nuts shot with black cherry rum and amaretto. This cherry-lover approves and this served as a dessert to round the night off to a better end. Was it okay that they had run out of shot glasses and opted for a short cocktail glass and also topped it with a tonne of cream? Umm, YES. No disappointment here. Service was attentive despite the bar overflowing on a Friday night. This was just what we were after and is a wonderful spot for a drink. You'd be missing out if you didn't have a cocktail. The restaurant is somewhat small and since it's not in the city center, I imagine most tourists don't even know it exists. Yet, we got the last table when we were there as the restaurant was fully occupied with people who seem to be regular visitors. There were only three servers visible, yet they were friendly and accessible (though you may have to raise your hands to get them to notice). I had the calamari fritti for starter, and it's done right: lightly battered, not greasy, and crispy. For main I had the pollo milanese, and it's also done right. The chicken fillet is juicy with just right layer of breadcrumb. The mini potatoes are roasted to crisp... nicely done. No sauce, no cheese! And that maybe the special part of my dinner. And finally, a light dessert of Italian coconut ice cream in a coconut shell. I'm a fan of Fabio--the restaurant.

The waitress recommended the risotto, and I can now see why. The pasta is the perfect temperature, coupled with the crab and Parmesan, it's the perfect blend to make your tastebuds dance. I can't stop licking my lips haha. So happy to say that I had room for dessert! The Sticky Toffee Pudding was recommended, and yet again, another perfect choice. Toffee was poured on top of the dessert, and it was hot, making the dish that much more enjoyable. Ok. I not only LOVE the food, but I finished all three dishes completely. They worked off each other very nicely and when I don't even have leftovers to take home, it is THAT good. Overall a joyful and delicious experience! If you ever take a trip or you are LOCAL to Scotland, definitely stop in here.
