Neighborhood restaurant, close by, and good food! At supper there is always a big crowd! So many…read moremenu items to choose from. The Joe Namath burger is excellent! I wonder if he has ever had one? The buns are just right. Not real thick to take away from the burgers. The fries and onion rings are the best around. Wait staff is always attentive and willing to go the extra mile for requests. Frank has been there forever and always has great suggestions if you can't decide. He is "Bowser's " mascot! The roast beef , fries and gravy are second to none! If you haven't tried the steak salads be forewarned they are HUGE! Some unique items using brisket. Yes there is the best brisket you will find nowhere. AND you can see where the smoking of the brisket and pork happens as you walk in the door!

A bartender at another local restaurant in Monaca actually recommended this place to some guys who were at her bar and so I inquired about it. Finally managed to stop there today. They do have an easy online ordering system. I was told that it would be 30 minutes, but it was maybe about 20 until it was ready. I tried the two meat plate with pork and brisket, and I chose the sides as barbecue baked beans and coleslaw. I also ordered the capicola sandwich, but as a wrap, you can make any of their regular sandwiches into a wrap if you don't want the regular bread. Their Pittsburgh style sandwiches are all made like Primanti Brothers sandwiches with the coleslaw and the french fries fries on them. I actually really enjoyed the wrap. The baked beans are at least three different types of beans and they are smoked & flavorful. They were quite tasty. And the coleslaw is good too, they cut the mayo with cream cheese. The meat flavor was OK and we finished it, but today both our meats were slightly dry even after putting BBQ sauce on them. They do have lots of beer on tap & in bottles as well as some liquor. There are some high top tables, and then there are lots of regular tables made for larger groups. It's definitely an old school type place, BBQ dive. All staff is friendly & online ordering was easy. The sign of front says that you can call the number and they will bring your takeout order out to you in the parking lot. I went inside because I wanted to check the place out. I'd stop again if in the area I'd give it 3.5 stars actually due to the meats being dry. They do have smokers in the parking lot, but there were no ribs on the menu today.

This cute pub is divided into three areas to accommodate everyone's fun visit. The bar area has…read morehigh top tables for enjoyable get togethers, while thru the open door way are low top tables which aid in providing a more intimate atmosphere. There is also a big patio area which is wonderful for a warm spring day, or a cozy summer night. The menu contains unique items amongst its standard fare. We went with the "Polish bowl", the " Italian bowl" and the cheesesteak. The Polish bowl contained pirogies that would rival any church lent takeaway. Accompanying them was kielbasa, sauerkraut, bacon, with side of sour cream and butter. Large portions, delicious taste. The Italian bowl consisted of four enormous meatballs. The flavor reminded me of my mom's who was taught by her neighbor who was from Italy. So very delectable. I took two of the four home and made two meatball subs from them- again, so enormous. The Grumpy Beaver does not skimp on quantity, but maintains a very high level of quality. The cheesesteak equaled two you would receive from anywhere else. The inclusion of sirloin, Swiss cheese accompaniment, and the local Mancini bakery bread ( long roll) will stand against anything you get from Philly. This was scrumptious. For dessert we chose a Dubai torte, and a banana peanut butter pie. Both did not let us down, with the heavenly flavor exploding in each bite. Our waitress Gabby was sweet and very accommodating. We will be back, and you should try it!

As for their catered food, I am totally biased. I have been chasing chef Greg Powell around Beaver County for ages, wherever he is cooking up his food. I was delighted he is the kitchen genius at the Grumpy Beaver Pub. From start to finish, it was a smooth running event space experience!
