I think that Christina missed YELP'S statement at the beginning of each review: "Many businesses are doing their best during COVID. Thank you in advance for taking this into consideration if things didn't go as planned." Listen, we are ALL trying to navigate these uncertain times. Things are constantly changing day to day minute to minute. There may have been reasons that were given by the California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology for not being able to do business during the time Christina had requested an appointment. I find that Christina's review was based on things that weren't in Marion's control. Wonderful for hair extensions! I found Marion on Yelp and got hair extensions for the first time ever, after much consideration. I have been considering them for some time now, but was nervous. I met with Marion and talked about the extensions process and then scheduled my appointment. I looove them! I would highly recommend anyone considering them to come here and get them. I am originally from the Bay Area looking for a good hairstylist in town and I thought she would be great. I asked about extensions, color, and cut. It was weird, as soon as I told her I wanted she just dropped off. I guess she has so much business that she doesn't want anymore! That's just not good business sense. I say if your looking for a good hairstylist don't contact this woman. She obviously doesn't need or want new business. I'd like to update my review. She responded to my original review and says she is not taking new business because of COVID. Then why would you contact me back, giving me your cell phone number and asking what services I need? You should just have simply stated then that you are not taking on new clients. Instead you make conversation with me and then chose not to respond. What kind of business is that? I've been seeing Marion for years. Not only is she incredibly accommodating as far as my wishes for my hair, she is about the nicest person you'll ever meet. She always listens to me and takes into consideration what my intentions are with my hair, and usually exceeds my expectations. If you are looking for a stylist that can work wonders with your hair, I highly recommend Marion. Every cut and style I've had from her has been amazing. 5 Stars doesn't even begin to give justice to how highly I recommend Marion. It truly brings tears to my eyes, how blessed I am to have found her. If you could see pictures of my hair "before," and "after," you would see the MIRACULOUS transformation that only Marion made possible. I came to Marion with the most damaged, broken at the roots, over processed, most unhealthy, and devastatingly unattractive hair possible. My self confidence was shattered and it was truly painful. My very first visit to Marion, she made me feel welcome and took her time to really assess the situation/quality of my hair. She was 100% honest and made it known that she cared more about the integrity/health of my hair than over making a profit. Immediately, she fixed my blonde to a beautiful tone and shade, and helped nurse my hair back to health. To help mask the severe damage and broken pieces all around the crown of my head, she installed beaded row extensions and blended in my broken ends so that while they grow back, I get to have beautiful natural healthy long hair. Very poor business etiquette! Made an appointment in which I was on time for and Marion forgot about the appointment and could not see me. We scheduled for me to come back the next day, only for her to send me a message that evening to cancel again. I would rather someone just say they do want to do the work then waste my time. I am not sure how someone can run a business in that manner. I am extremely disappointed. To comment back to you... I can totally understand that stuff happens cause I too am a mother of 2. Had I not already waited for over a week for the 1st appt to then be cancelled on at the last minute for the reschedule. But I to have a life and schedule. I spent a lot of time finding and deciding who to let work on my hair so I was disappointed. You clearly do great work as other reviews have attested but the whole situation left me feeling some type of way and that is not how this type of relationship should start.
