When my regular stylist couldn't see me I was desperate for a cut so I decided to give them a try based on their good reviews. I ended up with Holly and while cutting my hair she mentioned adding some face framing highlights. It is not something I usually get but I decided to take the time and treat myself and was pleased with the results. Holly even pushed back an appointment to give me her full attention. I ended up buying the salon brand shampoo and conditioner and really like them. My hair is thin but it is much better with their products. I also started using Perfect 10 styling products which Holly used on my hair. I actually started embracing the straightness of my hair and invested in a Dyson Airwrap which is an amazing tool for getting it smooth and shiny. Lots of signage Now, it's been a long time since I've got my hair done nicely. I really have been wanting balayage and my hair has never been dyed. Last time I dyed it was over 10 years ago and it was a nightmare experience. I had a hair stylist that used to cut my hair and she was amazing and it was so nice and relaxing to come in and chat with her and she knew my hair so I was hoping to get a similar reaction from this experience but I did not get it. Giana technically did a good job. My hair was balanced nicely. I did ask for caramel/honey coloring and it came out much lighter. I know this can be for several reasons and color is something that is dependent on how your hair reacts. But I just wish it had been like discussed like hey it's looking a lot lighter but it looks really good etc. Mostly there was no talking like at all throughout the appointment. I tried to make conversation and it just fell flat. I ended up just reading my book instead assuming maybe she just wasn't chatty but then she seemed chatty with the other stylists. When I was done she seemed like extremely happy to be done with me. She never even was like wow it looks so nice look how it came out. And she knew how apprehensive I was about the appointment coming in and that I had a previously horrendous experience. Also when I saw her after my appointment like while I was paying she seemed like 10x more energetic and happy so it was weird she just like really didn't like me I guess. ‍ So, technically it was done fine. But it wasn't a friendly experience. It was very mechanical and when I think of a salon I think of a friendly comfortable place that makes me feel welcome and this just did not have it. Now I gave it three stars because maybe she was having an off day or something. But I'll probably chose another salon for maintanence which is a bummer because I would have liked to keep the same one.
