Definitely was worth the splurge. The only disappointment was the shrimp dish we had. The shrimp themselves were great, but it just seemed too salty for us. The crust had a nice char and chew, and the toppings were generous. I enjoyed it, although a couple of my coworkers were a little less enthusiastic. For me, the smaller plates stood out more. The room was lively, and the mix of vintage plates, copper-toned tables, and simple details gave the space a lot of personality. I also liked how naturally the menu lent itself to passing plates around and trying a little of everything. I'm glad we checked it out, especially because Lardo comes up often when people talk about eating in Mexico City. I'd happily come back and explore more of the smaller plates.

There was one long stretch of hall that probably had twenty or more little Independent restaurants. Everyone had pozole and pancita which again was something relatively new for everyone. We found one special restaurant and we all at pollo asado con feiiles and arroz. Two large pitchers of Jamaica juice was included. The service and food were great. We are so glad that we were able to check this joint out. Its a bit unassuming from the outside and they offer some patio seating (with a cover) and then it opens up into a very modern/clean restaurant interior with the bar being the focal point. They also have a 2nd floor which i imagine is opened up during peak/busy times. The service was very rapid and very good english spoken by the entire staff. Loved the interior vibes and it just made me settle right in. The menu was broken down by Apetizers, soups, salads, main plates, etc. They also have a great adult beverage selection and they even have a childrens menu. The mezcal drinks were absolutely brilliant and we kept those flowing throughout the meal. For food, we went with the Huitlacoche Fondue, The tortilla Soup, the duck enmoladas, the chamorro tacos, and the catch of the day and a children's quesidilla as we wanted to try it all :). All the food came out promptly and i'll make this simple... this was our MOST enjoyable sit down meal during our entire CDMX trip. The quality of all the ingredients were fantastic. The fondue was absolutely delicious and a perfect way to enjoy a piece of fungus :). But it doesnt taste weird at all it was fantastic and so addictive.  The soup was absolutely refreshing and i loved the thoughtfulness of how they split up the bowl for two adults as they knew who was sharing. The kid's quesidilla which was a bit of a joke but it turned into a fantastic little plate with high ingredients and the guac that came with it. The chamorro Tacos were absolutely tender and well seasoned and so simple but just made so well. Left quite the impression for an upscale taco. The Duck Enmoldas was ABSOLUTELY fantastic. The two mole (black and green) sauces were absolutely the BEST ive ever had. Perfectly delicious and the duck was really lovely. The catch of the day was also a really well executed seafood item that felt fusion eque. Loved all the flavors and the ingredients again were perfectly flaky and tender.  Honestly this was an absolute delicious experience. Absoultely my favorite sit down meal during this trip. I also appreciate wine and mezcal options from vineyards and distilleries throughout Mexico.

Ordered 4 lamb tacos, chile en nogada, cooked chicken in green sauce and a fish dish (forgot name, little spicy) then a coke, horchata and a pineapple drink. We got chips, cheese, sauce while waiting. Those were all nicely done but average. Dishes out maybe 10 min later. All presented well and hot. We shared each dish. Lamb tacos nicely done, little dry, but they give you some guacamole, a brown sauce, along with the green sauce and cheese with the tortilla chips. Nice, not fatty. Next was the chiles en nogada. First time tried this and really enjoyed, many flavors and nicely flavored beef. In general little on sweet side, so probably couldn't eat more than 1. The chicken in green sauce was a homey, comfort food. Nicely cooked chicken leg and thigh was an ever so slightly spicy sauce. Also came with tortilla wraps and Spanish riceLastly was the spicy baked fish. Done well, fell apart pretty easily, was spicy, but not too much. Pineapple tastes freshly squeezed and horchata was a super solid example in every way.
