I have been going to Mark Allen off and on for a decade for chronic pain issues involving my neck, hip and back. He's a miracle worker. He's super knowledgeable, and does the much needed massage part, which I find some physical therapists don't always do. When I have a flare up, he's almost always able to resolve it in 1-3 visits. And, he's never made me worse, which has happened to me in the past. He also offers a no-insurance price. He's not on my insurance plan currently, but his care is well worth paying out of pocket for. Mark Allen is an incredibly professional physical therapist who does miracles at his nice facility. He can help heal anyone or help them recover from their injury or muscle soreness within only a few sessions with him. His sessions are very affordable and he maximizes the time during each session to help you stretch out your muscle and work on building it up. During my last session, he paid a lot of attention to my shin splints and he put these pads that were connected to a wire on my legs in order to loosen up the muscles. I know they always do their very best here to make your experience great and make sure you're healed within no time. I've only had 2 sessions with Mark, and my shin splints have basically disappeared! In 2017, I had a bad ski injury where I had a non-displaced fracture of the greater tuberosity (humerus) and a displaced fracture of my glenoid fossa (the socket the humerus fits into). I had surgery to correct the displaced fracture and the surgeon noted that my shoulder mobility and function may sustain permanent limitations. Two months post-op, I walked into Mark Allen Physical Therapy, determined to do everything I could to get back to speed. Over the next four months, I worked with Mark and explained my goals of getting back into the gym and my usual activity level. Mark listened to my goals and began treatment. Here are some of the highlights for why I think Mark is such an excellent PT and, if you are to go to him for care, that you will be in great hands: -Experience - Mark works with a patient population that covers old, young, athletes, weekend warriors, and your everyday Joe (he's even worked in a professional capacity for athletic teams). And Mark was always willing to go out of his way to accommodate you. PT is deceptively challenging, it requires a lot of work both at your sessions and at home. But having Mark encouraging me each session was significant for maintaining my faith in the recovery process. I have made a complete recovery and have regained full mobility and strength of my shoulder. I was back to lifting within six months with heavy lifting involving the shoulder in nine months. My surgeon was impressed with my results - and I believe Mark gets a lot of the credit for that. I am now a medical student and realize just how special it is to meet clinicians who practice like Mark. They are far and few between. I went to Mark Allen for physical therapy on my ankle month and half ago in Laguna Wood. It was supposed to be a six weeks program per my Orthopedic doctor, but after four and half weeks Mark said he had no more time for me anymore and left me in limbo. I think he is bored with his job and he just doesn't care for his patients. I thought that was very unprofessional of him not to complete his work. Stay away from him. At the end of August I had surgery: total joint replacement of my right knee. I had in-home physical therapy for two weeks following my release from the hospital. At my first post-op appointment at my surgeon's office, based on the movement I demonstrated, I was encouraged to move ahead to outpatient physical therapy. I intended to use a big therapy center affiliated with my medical group, having used them before; but after two days making calls and leaving voice mail with the scheduler, I found--when I finally talked with a real person--that I couldn't schedule my first appointment until three weeks out, because they were booked. I didn't want to lose the momentum I had with my rehab, as I'd been working hard. Waiting three weeks for outpatient PT did not sound like a good idea to me. So I checked on Yelp for physical therapists near me. One provider I found, I had used a few years before with success; but I was drawn to read the listing for Mark Allen, and I was impressed by his reviews. His credentials and experience, listed on his website, convinced me to give him a try rather than going back to the other facility in Yorba Linda where I'd been treated after hand surgery. Mark was very easy to communicate with by email, and helped me navigate my medical insurance benefits. I had my first PT session with Mark this afternoon, and I am delighted with the choice I've made to go with him. We have been seeing Mark Allen and known him for over 10 years. He's been a God sent to our family. I have two daughters that play elite basketball. Both have 4 medals between the two of them, playing for the USA national womens basketball team. Mark has been instrumental in the longevity of their careers. Mark Allen is an INCREDIBLY talented physical therapist. I could not recommend him more! My son had a traumatic knee surgery that left him with damaged nerves, atrophied muscles, and was completely unable to flex his ankle and therefore couldn't walk. Mark helped my son to walk again and my son was able to go on to be a collegiate athlete. Mark isn't just a talented physical therapist, he goes above and beyond with his bedside manner. It was most likely the darkest time in my son's young life and Mark helped to brighten it. He had my son laughing and smiling every single time he had an appointment in a time where laughs and smiles weren't too common.
