While there still weren't many people in the place (rather expected for midday on a Tuesday!), the vibe was much more pleasant. Perhaps I just caught the staff on an off day last time? Either way, it was a very enjoyable visit. However, I would still absolutely prefer if there were direction signs to the bowling/restaurant/skating that weren't just printed on the floor, given the low lighting makes them hard to read!

If you are a teenager group or a family looking for an activity on a rainy Sunday, this might be a fun place to go. The good thing about ice rank is that it is indoors and unlike any other place you even can go ice-skating in summer. The equipment all can be hired at the reception. Funny enough I was invited to a birthday to Queens. Even though it is original I did not really enjoy, as we were all grown up girls skating one round after the other. Not to mention this was summer! But pop icon Madonna and Guy Ritchie celebrated their son Rocco's 6th birthday at Queens then I am sure it I good enough for you little ones!

Hammersmith Apollo, now known as Eventim Apollo, is large and in charge. The size of this venue is so deceiving from the exterior. Who knew such a large theatre existed, literally, a few feet from Hammersmith station? Side note: Our seats were located in Circle Block 4, Row H. So, the second row of the second balcony. And located next to the hallway wall. I would say that they were in an unfortunate location. In the middle of the theatre but next to a wall. Our seats were a bit too far back for my liking. It was hard to see the comedians and, at times, the sound was a bit too loud/muffled. I think if we'd sat any further back, this review would be written slightly less positive. It's a big venue and a big stage and a single person on stage looks like an ant. We arrived about 30 minutes prior to start time and the bars inside (multiple bars on multiple levels) were packed. We skipped drinking and went straight to our seats. The ushers were friendly and guided us to our seats - no issues there. There were also no issues with row or seat numbering in our section though I do know that this theatre recently underwent £5M top-to-bottom renovation which was completed in September 2013, so perhaps this issue was sorted during the refurb. It looks fab. The seat width was great but the legroom, not so much. The seats have an unnecessary generous rounded back to them and since they are staggered (to prevent people staring at the backs of heads), the rounded seat-back falls right at your knees. I can say that after 1.5 hours of sitting, I was ready to get up and stretch my legs. And just as I had that thought, intermission hit BUT due to the location of our seats and the short 20-minute intermission, we actually never left our seats. Would I return to the Apollo? Of course! Would I pay extra for seats closer to the stage? Yes.

Sound quality seemed excellent. Matinee seats were not too expensive (£10) but I think in the evening you're close to West End prices. Some gripes: the snacks range. Popcorn not particularly fresh (it cannot be as it is in sealed bags). Giant bags of chocolate not readily available. On the plus side, there is delightful bar downstairs you can access without going outside. I saw the Hobbit here in 3D. No fault of the cinema, really, but I wouldn't see the next instalment in 3D. Due to the camera used in some of the scenes the lighting made it look more like a cheap BBC sitcom than a beautifully shot epic fantasty film. See the Qype User reviews for some fascinating information about the history of this building as a recording studio - a great shame it was shut down, and a pity it couldn't have been an awesome Stax-style museum, but the cinema conversion is certainly not a total tragedy.

The really cool thing about this place is that there is no time limit during the week, so your kid can play there all day ( well, from 10:00 - 18.00). During the weekend its super busy and the kids can only play for max 2 hours- thats why we like to go during week days. There is also a Cafe area for the adults with free Wi-Fi, toy shops, organic food, drinks, coffee etc. The staff is nice but they have a couple of ladies that remind me of witches and they look very bored with their lives. One of them can be quite rude sometimes. They organise birthday parties ( with different themes-dinosaurs, hello kitty etc) and they have all kinds of deals. The parties include meals and party bags. Other facilities include separate children's toilets, disabled toilets, baby changing room and pram park. They provide baby bouncers and high chairs. A great place for local families with young children and a great place for kids to burn off their energy when the weather outside is sucky.

He loved playing in the under 5's ball filled play area and probably would have liked to been there all day if he had the choice. Parents can get in too and it is a lot of fun- just remember to wear your clean socks as you have to remove your shoes! It's is the ideal place for a birthday party as you dont have to think about the entertainment! After 45 minutes in the play area (more than enough for me!) the kids were taken upstairs for food and cake. The downstairs cafe sells organic drinks and snacks which is good if you dont fancy your kids going wild on a sugar rush. Bramleys is the perfect way to release your inner child and let your child play in a safe envirinment.
