Gave them a deposit in April and now it's June and haven't received the date to start the job. I have yet to see what kind of quality i will receive because apparently they don't have enough staff available. I was extremely disappointed in their service this time. The first time I use them it was totally different and this time they were not nice, late, and sloppy. They charged me $15,000 which I had to take a loan out for. I'll still be paying that for four years for that cracked up in 10 months. They were supposed to just do the sidewalk and the landing with two steps. When I came home from work, they had torn my wall down. They were not supposed to do the wall, but they for it. Then they had different colors of Cement. Everything is cracking up. At first, they were going to fix it. Then I guess they realized they did not have a warranty written in the contract so they my fault because of the weather. Do not use them. Their work is not quality, and they do not give a warranty on their work or the that they are using. Run for the hills.. Mark cement did a wonderful job on a difficult project (basement stairwell and large walkway). They definitely took pride in their work. But communication around timing of plumbing needs, a broken electrical line, busted driveway asphalt is why I'm leaving a 4/5 review. The damage issues were brought up many times with the office with lots of promises but no action. read more

I contacted this Company for Cement work outside my house and in the basement. I explained to them that all I needed was the sidewalk done where I had to replace a curb trap and some cementing inside the basement wall. They sent their sales person out and I showed them what needed to be done. They sent me an e-mail the next day thanking me for the opportunity but also stated they were way too busy to take this job even though the outside cement work would not have be done until a month later. Don't waste your time calling them as they will turn you away if your project is too small. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

Beware! I called to get an estimate and they came out for that. They emailed the estimate to me and said I needed to sign it to start the work. After signing, they said it's their busy season and they can't do the work now and will reach out when they can. They emailed two months later and said they wanted to come out the next day. At first I was skeptical not due to their quality of work but the overall science into making my 100+ year brick look semi new again. Very poor business ethics. Requested an estimate on a cement job. One of their associates came by to see what needs to done. After one week of no response by way of text or email of a proposal, and phone calls I was never contacted. The reason given "The owner has not had the opposite to view." Just had Mark Cement Company do my sidewalk on June 11, 2019. In fact 4 sidewalks in a row done on the same day on 1800 block of Tree Street. Joey Powers work is the BEST work I have ever seen. He takes pride in his work and it shows. Hard working guy. I look at sidewalks all the time and no one does work like Mark Cement crew. Several people up my street had there sidewalks done by other cement contractors and they have bird paths. No bird bath on my sidewalk. Anyway very happy with the work that was done. I'm surprised by the mixed reviews since I had a very positive experience with this company. Mark demoed the existing sidewalk pavers in front of my house and repoured new stamped concrete. The company communicated well, the job was scheduled and completed quickly, and their attention to detail was high. All I could ask for. Stay away at all costs! Mark Cement Contractors had me sign a contract for my front sidewalk blocks, then didn't call or contact me in any way, so I got another contractor to come in and do the work. When they finally contacted me - a month and a half later - and I told them that I had long since had another contractor do the work, they threatened to take me to court for a $250 cancellation fee. From the other reviews, it seems I dodged a bullet actually, but I can't believe that a company that couldn't call me once in the five weeks that they were promising to do the work, has suddenly got the customer service wherewithal to call me twice now about their fee for not doing the work! read more

Marks Cement Contractors is the worst company you could ever do business with, I`ve already let all of my friends know and thought that I should let others know as well. STAY AWAY from them at all cost, I called to have someone give me an estimate it took them a week to actually have someone come out to my property, it also took them a long time to e-mail the actual estimate! Mark and Sons replaced the stone wall and six cement steps in front of my house. I'm giving them two stars for the price, their attentiveness to issues that arose during the job, and the stone wall looks great. However, I would NOT recommend them to anyone who needs cement work. The stairs that they poured are completely uneven. One of the steps slopes significantly from the heel to the toe of the tread, it is very noticeable when you step on it. I placed potted plants on each of the steps and even had to place a shim under the pot on that step so that it doesn't look like it is slanting. The wall that they replaced looks great but that isn't even their work. They contract that out to a stone mason. If I were basing this review solely on the work that is theirs, the cement work, I would give them only one star. I recommend finding another company for your cement work. read more

The workers were great. However, the management was poor. Really gouged me for extra work I wanted that was not covered in the original agreement. Did not offer a discount even though I got them work next door. Not even a thank you for that or for my paying someone to provide access to that work next door. We had a lot of broken cement and a major water problem, Mark took care of the worse cement blocks and now we don't have any water coming in.
