I state this based on my very frequent dealings on behalf of my Mum( I am her health care proxy) plus encounters and experiences with multiple physicians and offices here in Nassau County, New York since March 2019. 1) He is a straight shooter. He does not sugarcoat anything. He does this in a calm way where the patient ( even if a nonagenarian) gets it. 2) He really cares. He spends quality time I mean 25 plus minutes sitting eye to eye with the patient and really having a conversation about the patient's overall well-being. He ensures that all questions about everything and from everyone( including accompanying family) are answered. I love this. This is refreshing in 2022. 3) He answers his cell phone. Grateful that when we had an emergency on a Sunday during COVID, he picked up his cell and spent some quality time helping. 4) He came to visit my mother at Northwell LIJ in August 2019 when she had surgery. 5) His staff is fantastic, just like him. Mom came to visit me in Virginia and New Mexico in 2022 and Elizabeth at the front desk was solid. She was proactive and arranged for a phone consult with Doc and then the required prescriptions to be sent to the local CVS pharmacies in seconds. Shout out to Melvin and Monisha who also work the desk and are very kind and helpful. The office is open Mon - Saturday ( closed Thursdays) and is on Hillside Ave just east of Lakeville Rd. Dr Maniego is a great Doc and a just a good, good man. We are blessed and fortunate.

Every single appointment involves a wait time that consistently exceeds three hours, which is a blatant disrespect for patients' time. To make matters worse, they charge for unnecessary services while failing to deliver on the basic documentation you actually need. ​The lack of professionalism and incompetence is staggering: ​Failure to Deliver: I visited twice specifically for a medical letter for my employer. Despite two in-person visits, numerous phone messages, and multiple emails, they failed to provide a usable document. ​Pure Laziness: When they finally sent a "letter," it was a generic template that hadn't even been edited. It literally said "Insert Patient Name" where my name should have been. This is not just unprofessional; it is negligent and unusable for any employer. ​Hostile Staff: The front office staff is rude, disrespectful, and completely lacking in basic customer service standards. They have no interest in helping patients or fixing the errors they make. ​The "standard" of care here is non-existent. I explained this was a preventive annual physical, fully covered by my insurance. She stated the doctor refused to proceed without payment and confirmed that this was how they operated. I declined and requested my medical records, vowing not to return. I reported this to UnitedHealthcare, who confirmed this charge was improper and possibly fraudulent. They confirmed annual physical exams are 100% covered and not part of my deductible. This is not the first time. In June 2026, I paid $100 for a surgery clearance after a lengthy dispute. Later, I discovered he billed insurance only $48, though I was charged over double, including a credit card fee. I believe Dr. V is engaging in unethical, fraudulent practices that violate patient rights and put patients at risk. He and his medical staff should be investigated and held accountable. They all are meant to uphold medical practice standards governed by the state, and contractual obligations as indicated by the insurance, they are all complicit in operating illegally and unethically.

I was seen by Dr Brian Capogna at Orthopedic Associates in 2025 for a complex medial meniscus tear…read more Given I am a mom of young children, under 40 years old, and have had no previous knee problems, a partial arthroscopic meniscectomy was recommended. Despite following every instruction, within months post-op I began to feel pain. I went back to him to ask for another MRI 5 months post-op to see if there was a reason for my discomfort. He very quickly brushed off my concerns and said that I am simply older and should accept I will have aches and pains. I did not like his demeanor or his quick response to my concerns. I decided to get a second opinion at a different practice who, after another MRI, determined there was not only another tear but that it appeared now even deeper into the meniscus. I've now had 2 meniscus surgeries from 2 different surgeons within 8 months. It was determined by the most recent surgeon that Dr Capogna left a flap of the meniscus exposed, which, no matter how much rest and PT, the meniscus could not "unfurl" or ease itself. Another surgery would need to be done. I understand we live in a highly litigious area and he could potentially see my request as me blaming him for a botched job. I was not asking for an MRI to put Dr Capogna at fault. I simply wanted an explanation for my situation. In fact, had he listened to me and agreed to help me get to the bottom of this and order an MRI, I might have even scheduled him again as the surgeon. I understand there are many factors involved when agreeing to surgery and complications are possible. What I do not understand, however, is a doctor who can dismiss their patient's pain so nonchalantly.

Dr Rifkin saved the life of my baby and me when I very unexpectedly had a medical incident and had to deliver 12 weeks early. He, Dr Cohen and Jamie checked on me daily in the hospital for a week.
