At the last minute, Tom let us choose a new location so that the grandparents would feel more comfortable and was great with the kids. He did a fantastic job with the lighting and he let us see some samples of photos right after he took them and what we saw was incredibly beautiful. He is so talented! On top of his photography skills, he is also a turtle rescuer! A turtle had wandered away from the pond and got too close to the restaurant and he helped guide it back safely to the pond. If we had any questions along the way he was always right there with an answer. We never worried about a thing. The day of the wedding he really worked his magic! He doesn't just focus on the people and the event, he also gets the details. The little things that you might miss throughout your day...he gets them! He is like a shadow throughout the day. He's getting everything but you barely see him! I don't know how he does it! He approaches everything with a unique eye which makes for truly amazing photos. They had the aesthetic we were going for, more light and airy, and their book was gorgeous. We had our engagement photos with them at Skyland Manor and I was so blown away. We are super traditional and did not want a first look, they definitely tried to sway us into one, but understood in the end and left us alone about the decision, lol. I am very very thrilled about my photos and I am so excited to post them here. They were very quick which I appreciated as we wanted to get to our cocktail hour. There is also not a single photo I dislike, genuinely. Luis was our photographer and he also did our engagement shoot so we were already very comfortable with him. He has a dry sense of humor which I enjoyed, and we had no issues feeling comfortable with him and posing, etc. He also knew I didn't want a ton go group shots because we had a massive bridal party and again, that cocktail hour was calling our name, lol! I love getting photos taken, but my fiancé, now husband, is not a natural at all, but having had the engagement shoot behind us, he was relaxed and comfortable, and i think the photos look really natural and showcase us so well! They also caught a lot of the details I worked so hard on, which was a huge plus for me as a DIY bride without a planner. I told the staff the photo requirements from the Germany Ambassador website: the photo size should be 35x45mm, the head measures 30-36mm, the lighting condition even, background is medium grey. The staff said ok. Suddenly an old man who seems to be the boss run downstairs and shouted at me:"We are not gonna do that! We are never gonna do that!"I replied:"Why? These requirements are not hard to satisfy." He continued shouting at me:"We are never gonna do that! We can't do these requirements. We need to take 4 to 5 pictures and choose the right one, it doesn't worth 15$!" After saying that, he didn't even give me a second look and run upstairs. His attitude was extremely rude. I felt I was not treated as a customer, but a suspect interrogated by the police. These requirements are rigorous from the Germany ambassador website. They are straightforward and not difficult to meet. If the boss thinks it's not worth 15$, he can simply charge me more on that and we could negotiate on that. Why did he treat me so rudely and didn't want to speak any more words before expelling me from his noble store?

I booked a birthday photoshoot here and had a very disappointing, unprofessional experience. The…read morestudio was smaller and less clean than expected, but the real problem was with the makeup/hair service arranged through the photographer. The stylist sprayed excessive product, got a brush stuck in my hair for nearly half an hour, and a chunk of my hair fell out. He put direct heat on my scalp, which was extremely painful and could potentially cause lasting damage. If I discover permanent harm to my scalp or hair growth, I will have no choice but to pursue legal action. The stylist also used an unsanitized, corroded straightener, admitted his dryer wasn't hot enough for my hair type, and handled my hair roughly even after I said I was in pain. Instead of addressing the damage, he asked for my email to offer free products--which did nothing to fix the situation. Surfaces were dirty, and hot tools were even placed on the floor--unsanitary and unsafe. According to NY state law, professional services must be provided in a clean and sanitary environment, which this clearly was not. I had to go home and immediately wash my hair out because of the heavy, uncomfortable spray. While the photographer himself was polite and did not insist on payment, I cannot recommend booking hair/makeup through this company. The service was unprofessional, unsafe, and unacceptable--especially for what should have been a special birthday shoot.
