Janelle did amazing makeup and was exceptional, making me feel very comfortable and listening closely to what I was hoping for and helped a lot with optimal styling of hair, makeup, etc. This is my third time to return to City Headshots...with the first two times working with Martin about 10 years ago. They have been really excellent all three times, and I would definitely go back again. The booking process and early communications are automated and streamlined. The experience in person is very tailored and personalized and the studio space in Midtown is easy to get to and has a nice comfortable waiting room. Samantha was my photographer. She was great very friendly She suggested that we shoot outside. I bought a basic package . One location no wardrobe changes. My shoot was for Match. I ended up with two great poses. I love that she went through all my many pics and picked out her favs. That was very helpful. I would like to say that my two weeks on Match were successful but no. I quit.!It was not Samantha's fault ! I fault Match for send me matches from Ca , Il and Florida. These places are not 20 miles outside of manhattan . I'm blown away at the quality of work and the professionalism. I had a shoot scheduled on Monday with Ryan. He is a complete professional and skilled at his craft. Initially I was nervous about being photographed. I'm awkward as hell in front of the camera, but I needed the headshots for business purposes. I purchased the two look deluxe package. I came prepared with my makeup done and two different blazers to change in. The first photos were shot inside the studio with a backdrop. The second set of photos was taken one block over outside with the city as my backdrop. These are my favorite pictures out of the entire shoot. H Ryan killed these pictures, he told me exactly how to pose and position my feet and shoulders to get the best angles for the shots. I'm so pleased with the outcome. I'm certain that he works well with everyone, but I would recommend him to anyone, especially women who are awkward or shy behind the camera. I cannot say enough good things about the result and the customer service At City Headshots! They were fantastic on all fronts and I would recommend to anyone in need of a professional picture! I set up a session at City Headshots because I was unhappy with my Eras photo session for medical residency done at my school. They were incredibly responsive and emailed me with an hour to ask me if I had any questions or concerns or needed any help prior to the session. When I got there the photographer was super nice and reassuring. I showed her the pictures I didn't like and she knew exactly what to do and how to direct me. I felt much less awkward posing than I usually would thanks to her direction and she stopped after each batch of pictures to make sure there wasn't a hair out of place and to check and see if I liked the images. By the time I got home I had 175 pictures in a Dropbox to choose from which was the opposite problem I had previously! When I finally settled on a picture and submitted it for retouching I received the picture within one day. I'm so happy I found City Headshots and it was without a doubt worth the price for the level of care and attention they give! I wanted a nice picture for residency applications and they exceeded all my expectations! I highly recommend for any and all professional photo needs. read more

Janelle did a fantastic job on doing my makeup and really took the time to make sure it looked perfect (I certainly could never do my own make up that well). I went to them for a corporate headshot and they couldn't have been more professional and helpful. I needed the pictures on short notice and they accommodated me with an appointment the next morning including meeting with the stylist. The stylist did a superb job with applying makeup. She enhanced my looks, and covered up complexion flaws (such as lines) without applying so much makeup that the pictures had an artificial overly made up look. Martin, the photographer was excellent at putting me at ease and helping me to look my best for the photos. I had almost 90 pictures sent to me the same afternoon and they were so well done that no retouching was needed. I was able to keep all of the pictures and easily selected the one I wanted for my head shot. I cannot recommend them highly enough, if you want professional, high quality head shots you can not do better than City Headshots. read more

I have worked with Martin for professional head-shots in the past and loved his work so I booked a photo-shoot for a new clothing brand that I am launching. On the way to the studio everything that could have gone wrong went wrong and we ended up being late. Samantha our photographer and Val who did hair and makeup were completely understanding. At that point I knew it was going to be a good shoot. Samantha did a fantastic job lighting the shoot and making my models feel comfortable and relaxed. She also was a fantastic coach in helping one of my less experienced models who was camera shy pose for the photos. I just sat back watched the magic happen. Above and beyond. The theme of the photo shoot was a 1950's/Greaser look. Initially were trying to get the hair right and Val who was working on another project took time out of her own schedule to help style the hair for both of my models which took at least 30 minutes if not more. Again above and beyond. Also the photos came out fantastic. The best part about the experience was that it was fun. Everyone was having a great time and it really helped us as a team realize the artistic vision for the photo shoot. I had an amazing experience at City Headshots. This was my first time in a professional head shot photo shoot. Heidi did an amazing job with the makeup and both Martin and Heidi made the entire experience comfortable and a lot of fun. I am makeup inept so I opted to add a stylist in my package. I appreciated Heidi's makeup techniques. I didn't feel like a clown.
