The setting was the ideal blend of rustic charm and elegant country chic. Our ceremony took place under the trees, nestled between the fields and vineyards--a truly magical backdrop. One of their cows even joined in to "approve" our vows, which made the moment unforgettable and so uniquely Postlewaitt's. Cocktail hour near the ceremony site was serene and inviting, giving guests the perfect opportunity to mingle and enjoy the scenery. The reception in the barn was just as wonderful--the roll-up doors created an easy flow between indoors and outdoors, exactly the atmosphere we envisioned. The farm tables and antique mismatched plates available through the venue were absolutely perfect, adding so much character and completing the warm, inviting atmosphere we were looking for. Our guests continue to compliment the venue and its idyllic setting. The view of Mt. Hood in the background left a lasting impression and made the day feel even more special. Jacqueline was a joy to work with--knowledgeable, responsive, and always ready with great suggestions. Her recommendation to partner with Carpe Diem Wedding Planning was the icing on the cake and made everything run smoothly. I wouldn't change a single thing about our day. We would choose Postlewaitt's again and again and recommend it wholeheartedly to any couple looking for a stunning venue and a team that truly cares.

The hamburger sliders and chicken salad were delicious, and all of their house-made salad dressings were fantastic (the blue cheese was especially amazing). I also loved that they source locally. This was one that was recommended to us, but was a huge disappointment to start off. We had called ahead where they told us. There was no such thing as reservation and the patio was on a first come first serve basis, although the very first question when we walked in was, do you have reservations the patio was full and we were given a table inside while we waited to see if something opened up no more than three minutes behind us some lady walks in ask if they can get a table because their new wine members and they want to get their free flight. They told the ladies that they were full and that they could sit inside. She asked if they could walk outside and look around at least and show her friend around she said that's no problem. They did that when they came back in they had mentioned it looked like somebody was getting ready to leave and wanted to know if they would be able to get that seat outside. I thought great we're going to get passed up for this. And then the hostess came over and told us that there was an opening outside. I thought oh great we didn't get passed up so they escorted us outside and tell us that it's just the gazebo seating that's available right now and then they gave the lady that came in three minutes behind us the table. Say we went there to eat dinner. We went to have a good time and we got sat on some old crappy broken down patio furniture and then we got ignored by our waitress and several other waitresses never brought us our water and finally brought us our drinks from inside which they told us they were going to bring immediately and it took about 30 minutes to get them. I should've just got up, walked inside and grabbed them off the table myself and then after being ignored, we finished our watered down shitty wine and had to walk up to the bar because we were being ignored to pay the bill and had every waitress eyeball us and freak out like we were going to walk out without paying I have never in all of my life been treated so rudely I was told good things about this place, but I will never be back. This was some of the most disrespectful rudest service I've ever seen in my life. I am a professional chef and I have worked in the restaurant and catering industry for over 30years. This place absolutely put a foul taste in my mouth like never before basically if you're not a regular or senior citizen don't expect to get any kind of customer service. I felt that we were highly discriminated against because of our age. We are in our late 40s although the large portion of the crowd was all gray haired and in their late 60s to 80s I felt that because we were younger. We got the shitty seats and got passed up by the older people so that they could sit at the table. I was disrespected. I was treated rudely and it was completely unacceptable.

I coordinated a wedding at Ferrier Creek Nursery last Saturday for the first time, and I'm happy to…read moresay the venue exceeded my expectations. I remember speaking with them at a large Portland Bridal Show last year, and I was impressed with their politeness and down-to-earth feel. I like the fact that they allow you to bring in a caterer of your choice. This wedding had beer and wine, which the bride/groom were able to bring in themselves. The ceremony was outside on the side lawn, with dinner on the main lawn, and reception/dancing in the barn. The grass was green, and all of the landscaping was well maintained, creating a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony and dinner. The barn has an undercover area in the front, which is handy for a backup plan due to less than preferable weather. The barn has a smaller side, good for cake cutting, bar, guest book, or gift table. The main side of the barn is great for dancing. The upstairs area of the barn gives a great perspective for photos, bouquet toss/garter toss, or extra space for tables. There is a back walkway that is great for storage, or for a photobooth area. I liked that we could come in as early as 9am to setup, and we weren't required to be cleaned and out until midnight. This gave the bride, groom, and their family plenty of time to truly relax and enjoy the day. The venue provides plenty of parking, plenty of space, and exclusive use of the venue site for the majority of the day at a reasonable cost. They were very hospitable, and provided as much help as they could to make the day run smooth...even if it was outside of their contracted responsibilities. The only two things that I noticed were not perfect were: The lawn for the ceremony was being watered the day of to keep the grass green, however it made the grass slightly soggy, but not unmanageable, and if they incorporated outside lighting into their landscaping, it would not only enhance the beauty of the already wonderful scenery, but provide useful extra lighting when tearing down outside on the lawn after dark. On a positive note, they did provide one large industrial light that provided enough light to get the job done when breaking down the dinner setup on the lawn. Thank you Ferrier Creek for all of your help!

In May, I wanted to book our wedding in a timely manner due to needing to request time off from my work. Lesley was not available to show us the venue due to her being out of the country at the time but she was very accommodating and had Melissa come and show us the venue. We fell in love with Melissa right away. She explained all the different options and packages we could pick from. We gladly picked her Tiny Coordinated wedding option. Lesley sent us a reminder to apply for our marriage License 60 days before the wedding which was really helpful. She also agreed to officiate our wedding for us so she sent us a questionnaire to tailor the ceremony to our style. Then, once closer to the wedding she sent us a draft of everything she was going to say and gave us the option to adjust it as needed. It made our ceremony exactly how we wanted it. When we arrived to the venue, she had everything already beautiful, set up, and ready to go. She helped with getting any extra decor I had brought unloaded from the car. The dressing room was adorable with multiple mirrors to get ready at. We only used it to change into our dresses but we were very impressed with it and wished we would have booked more time to do our hair and makeup in there. My bouquet and the boutonnière made by Melissa was stunning. The flowers on the top of our arch were beautiful too. The ceremony was beautiful and Lesley did an amazing job keeping it short, funny, and tailored to how we wanted it. It was exactly how I had envisioned. She then helped us with getting our marriage license signed and filed it after the wedding for us which was a huge relief. She helped with getting all of the catering set up and our cake cutting organized. While my only complaint was that we ran out of tortillas, Lesley was able to get some more tortillas for us. Looking back on all of it, I was extremely happy with the experience we had at Lavender Owl Farm. It sounds like they are making even more improvements to make the venue more beautiful then it already is. The beauty of the farm-like style and flowery gardens speaks for itself and doesn't require much more decor. I would highly recommend to others looking to have a beautiful small intimate wedding.
