Inside space at Cowboy Coffee located at Prairie House
    Lois M.

Stopped in for a bit of coffee today at Cowboy Coffee located inside Prairie House after hearing so much about how good it is... and I wasn't disappointed. Chatted with Zack about how a couple of different drinks are made and ended up ordering an iced americano. Topped it off with a toasted bagel and my first visit to Cowboy Coffee at Prairie House was a wrap. Great location for casual meetups or a neighborly get-together, this location has it all: good coffee, varied menu of sandwiches, breakfast items, bagels, etc., comfy chairs for hanging out, free wifi, tables for those of us who like having a table in front of us, and friendly staff. This place would have garnered 5 stars if they were also following current Oregon State and federal pandemic guidelines but none of the employees were wearing a mask so I can only presume that no other precautions were being followed either - most of the guests were also not wearing masks and social distancing among employees & guests was nonexistent. Until this pandemic is under control and/or this location takes it seriously, I will not be back and I will not recommend it to anyone I know.

    Garden Room, two queen beds

We stayed in the Garden Room, which has two queen size beds. It has a simple bathroom with a toilet and shower, and a small sink that is in the bedroom area. We got a kick out of the decor, which included a rake on the wall and some Garden fencing under a pitcher. Downstairs is Cowboy Coffee, a nice place to buy breakfast Mon- Sat. When the coffee shop is closed you can still get complementary coffee and tea downstairs. There's also a microwave downstairs and another restroom. Friendly folks!

Hard to describe but I'll try. An old converted farmhouse? An outstanding job keeping most of the nostalgic farmhouse vibe but the well appointed themed rooms have some modern amenities. The bathrooms, for example, are modern and clean. The rooms are small but then you have the entire bottom floor with several tables, arm chairs to lounge in. Also downstairs is a full-on coffee joint with an outstanding and fun breakfast & lunch food and drink menu. Found this place online quite by accident whilst looking for a comfy/cozy overnight stay after a looong day on the motorcycle. Comfy/cozy is EXACTLY what I got!

Such a warm, welcoming place. The owner and manager are so sweet, I've been greeted by them each time I've come. They have unique smoothies, I tried the p&b Java one and the Lavender refresher is so good you need a togo cup. I'm a bit on the shy side when it comes to checking out new places but Im so glad I got the nerve to wander in. When pulling into the front you'll notice two doors on the front both lead to the coffee shop/dining area. I was nervous about which one to choose but turned out your welcome in all doors. Don't waste time hesitating like I did, come check out this peaceful gem of a place.

Prairie House is a lovely inn with six attractive rooms. Their grounds are large with ample parking, and a great wrap-around porch. They can host indoor or outdoor catered events and may soon host an on-site full service restaurant. Prairie House is certainly the best Molalla has to offer!

    Beautiful inn and beautiful garden.

Such a wonderful stay! It was quiet, quaint, homie, clean, great price and had a delicious breakfast spread. The host also was really sweet and gave me the recipe to her breakfast casserole when I asked her about it. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone else.

We had never stayed at a B and B before so the bar has been set going forward. Mary and Kevin are the kindest and their home feels more like you are at a close family members home or a really good friends. Clean and well decorated with some beautiful views as well. Breakfast was amazing and they grow some of the ingredients right there on the property. The only bad thing about going is having to leave. We were lucky enough to stay for two nights at The DreamGiver's Inn, and I was so regretful for not making the trip a little longer. This place is truly a dream. The drive from Portland wasn't bad at all (under an hour!) and was really quite beautiful as we made our way. While driving the winding roads filled with fall colors, we spotted the Inn, thanks to its charming shade of red. We checked in around 4pm, and Grace was there to greet us and help us to our room. She was an incredibly welcoming host, and made the experience even more special. We stayed in the "Grace" room, and it was absolutely gorgeous and so relaxing. The room had a huge window seat, and the first couple of hours we were there, we sat there watching the rain and relaxing. Grace had all the makings for hot tea downstairs, which was a perfect match for the moment. We had so many plans that we canceled just so we could sit on that damn window seat and enjoy the view! Mornings at The DreamGivers Inn are the stuff dreams are made of. We usually wandered downstairs around 8:30pm to get some coffee and enjoy one of Grace's baked goods... she made the most amazing banana bread, lemon blueberry scones, and the list goes on. It's a perfect time to wake up slowly and soak in the views of rolling hills, vineyards, and trees. She had breakfast out every morning at 9am, and holy cow, was it amazing. We got to enjoy yogurt parfaits (made with the best local ingredients), egg scrambles, vegetables from the garden, and homemade jams. Can you see why we never wanted to leave? While some would shy away from going to Oregon during the rainy season, the weather ended up being a perfect match for the cozy atmosphere this beautiful sanctuary provided. I cannot recommend this spot enough! Thank you for a couple incredibly relaxing and peaceful days.

I contacted the owners of Rushing River from my home in Georgia when I saw their listing on a…read morerental site. My young adult children were hiking the PCT and one had blisters and needed to stop until my husband and I arrived 48 hours later, but with closed roads due to fire rebuilding and no Ubers or Lyfts in service in this remote area with no cell service, I asked Teresa if they were able to provide transportation if I rented a room for my youngest. Despite being a complete stranger, Teresa and Michael made calls to the nearby park rangers to determine how to access my son as if I were a member of their family, even though my children's trailhead was at Olallie Lake almost two hours away. As it turned out, the older siblings stayed and camped with my youngest due instead due to a snow storm which preventing hiking further south as they had planned, but my family was so appreciative that this couple was willing to go out of their way to help, so we made it a point to travel to Rushing River Retreat to meet these wonderful humans. Our family of five adults stayed for two nights in three rooms: my husband and I stayed in the queen room with the balcony inside the home, my boys shared one exterior queen room and my daughter had a second exterior queen room (these exterior rooms are privately accessed outside and they share an exterior and/or interior bathroom available to all of the guests who stay in exterior rooms.) Teresa and Michael open their home up to their guests, so we sat on the couch and chairs in the family room next to the kitchen and enjoyed the view through the picture window of the beautiful rushing river. My sons went swimming and my husband enjoyed fishing. It was lovely after our travels to relax in the hot tub. We are used to renting private spaces through Airbnb when the five of us travel together, but the best thing about this stay was sharing the common areas and getting to know Teresa and Michael. As so many other guests have commented on multiple review sites, this couple welcomes you into their home and shares their lives with you very generously. My young adult children are at the point in their lives where they're figuring out what they want to do for a vocation, so they were very interested in hearing about the varied experiences enjoyed by these gifted and creative entrepreneurs. We spent two weeks in Oregon, and much of our trip had to be reworked due to the snowstorm that changed the hiking plans, and Teresa and Michael gave us wonderful recommendations that guided our entire trip. We even checked in with them after we left the property, and they continued to guide us as we explored their home state. We enjoyed two delicious breakfasts during our stay, and Teresa even shared some of her leftover dinner with my oldest son who was still hungry when the dinner we prepared for the family left him feeling hungry for more! This was a wonderful place to relax, and there are plenty of places on the property to enjoy privately, as one couple did during our stay who we only saw when they filled their plates at breakfast. Then there were others, including one solo traveler who used one of the glamping spaces, who joined us inside at meal time and played board games with us. Whether you want to enjoy a relaxing private space or connect with a friendly and engaging couple, Rushing River is a wonderful place to retreat, relax and restore. It is definitely more than a place to lay your head; Teresa and Michael create an environment that restores your soul.

Lovely! Delightful!…read more Charming Rooms! Welcoming Hosts! Gorgeous Grounds! I could go on and on about this sweet B&B that is in Milwaukie (just Southeast of Portland). Totally has spoiled us for future B&Bs. Terry and Al are amazing! My mom and I were lucky enough to have the whole place to ourselves for 2 whole days! So, we had Terry and Al's undivided attention. We visited with them in the mornings which made the experience so much more personal and inviting. They have a sign on the door that says something like... Enter as Guest, Leave as Friends. So True! Now... this B&B isn't hard to find but you could easily drive right by it in the dark because the house itself sits up on a little hill with several acres of around it. It's nestled into what would seem its own little piece of heaven surrounded by big trees, lush lawns and beautiful landscape complete with a little bridge. (I think I have pictures... I'll dig them up and post them too.) The house has several entrances (exits), but go ahead and enter at any one of them. The main one is at the front of the house which you can drive to... just follow the little road to the right as you go up the hill. (We didn't.... I saw the parking lot up on the left and just parked.) But you can drive to the front, unload and then drive around to the parking area. Anyways... Terry greeted us and showed us around the house. The house is HUGE! So many rooms and they've done a great job decorating it! Antiques mixed in with comfy sofas and chairs. It's a 3 story house... the main floor has the kitchen, porch, parlor and dining room (as well as Terry and Al's living quarters).... the upper floor has the bedrooms... I think I counted 4.... the bottom floor has the Theater... Yes... a Theater with a gi-normous screen and lots of movies to pick from. They even have a popcorn maker down there. But if you want to do it the quick and easy way... they also have microwave popcorn. The Theater has lounger chairs and throw blankets to get all comfy in as you watch your movies. (Mom and I were bummed that we were so busy and so tired each night that we didn't get to have a movie night. Next time...) The guest room floor had a mini bar area that had a coffee maker and tea available all day long. As well as a mini fridge stocked with water and sodas. So nice to have this! Plus they had wine glasses and a wine opener in case you brought your own and wanted to enjoy a glass out on the porch. Oh... the Porch! This is where Mom and I would enjoy our morning cup of Joe. It was so peaceful and relaxing to slowly wake up, sit on the porch and listen to the birds while sipping coffee and reading our books. So Relaxing! (Note... the house sits up off the street so there isn't any street noise and it's surrounded by a wooded area so it feels like you're "getting back to nature".) And then there was Breakfast... Terry really outdoes herself. You have a starter like fruit or parfait and then you have the main course... possibly mini german pancakes or an egg dish. All of it was D-LISH! And the presentation! She really knows how to plate a lovely breakfast. She took breakfast to another level in my book. (BTW... I love breakfast, so I was taking mental notes on how I should present and prepare my own special breakfasts at home.) The Bed.... the comfiest bed I've ever slept in. Even more comfortable than my own at home. The sheets were so soft! I wanted to stay in bed all day. But alas... there were sights to see, family to visit... But I did take a picture of the tag on the sheets so I can try to find the same brand and type at home. I can go on and on... but I won't. If you want to know something specific or more, message me. If... no, no... WHEN we are back in Milwaukie.. we will be staying here again. Love this place. :)

We were scoping out the area to buy our first home and visit my husband's best friend. I decided to treat us to a bed and breakfast. After looking for a couple hours online, I found the Century House. Jean was/is so sweet and kind, I am so happy to have gotten the opportunity to support the business. Jean was able to recommend a realtor to us. She is very knowledgeable about the Salem area and makes the best food. We got FRESH bing cherries and other fruits. As a resident of Hawaii, I so miss having fresh fruit. Our room was beautiful, ample space for 3 people. It felt like home. It was great. The breakfast was to die for. First morning was a parfait, sausages, and blueberry pancakes. Wow. Wow. Wow. To which I totally forgot to tell her that I don't eat red meat/pork. So the next morning she made salmon omelettes with cream cheese and a fruit crisp. I mentioned that a diner in Monmouth had the best crisps but they were out so we weren't able to get it. So she took it and decided to make one (totally warmed my heart). Both breakfasts were amazing. She sat with us both mornings and chatted, she's such a lovely person. When we move next June.
