My husband developed an awful toothache and tried to tough it out for a few days but swelling started today. Looked around for help. We called the number Dr. Breen put up for his patients. He's never met us but he took the call, was amazingly gracious and caring, set up some antibiotics to pick up and referred us to an oral surgeon who could see my husband tomorrow. I had just been to another dental clinic in Leominster, where I was seen by a young dentist who spent more time looking at x-rays of my teeth than actually looking in my mouth, then told me I needed 4 teeth extracted immediately, or I might risk the chance of sepsis from an infection in one of the teeth. I went to Dr. Cronin for a second opinion. He listened to my story of what had happened, looked at the same set of x-rays and examined my mouth, telling me that, "Yes, some of these teeth may need to come out, but not now." We proceeded on that basis. Some of those teeth have had to come out, but both the process and the cost were far more agreeable. And speaking of agreeable, Dr. Cronin is simply a very nice guy. Dr. Cronin now is semi-retired and I am seen by Dr. Dani, who is probably the most relaxed dentist I've ever seen. At the end of my first session with him, we fist-bumped--it came out of nowhere, feeling completely natural. Both Dr. Dani and Dr. Cronin actually listen to a patient and try to do what a patient wants; and the cost is reasonable. I do not have dental insurance and they lower the cost accordingly. Dr. Brown: I consult…read morewith Dr. Brown for second opinion to what Lang's dental (Medicaid dentist) suggests or for problems arising from Lang's dental (Lang's dental having a bad record with the Dental Board) even though it's self pay. It's worth it to have an honest and ethical dentist. He was correct as to the problem with tooth #5 as to do the right exploration to determine it was a hopeless vertical crack whereas Lang's suggested root canal. Sure enough it was exactly what Dr. Brown said; a hopeless crack because when the oral surgeon removed it, it came out in 2 vertical segments. Erin Deedy: I had a spontaneous gum inflammation to tooth #15 that just came out of nowhere as in the same day it was fine, later that day the area inflamed. Dr. Deedy took me in at the last minute and was on target with what it was; inflammation coming from the deep periodontal pockets and she did an isolated cleaning and flushing to that tooth which was exactly what I wanted. I am very grateful for her good timing and also 'hearing me out' as to what I suspected it could most likely be. The whole staff is always very patient with me too.

I was given an insurance estimate and told that there was a $325.00 scan that would be done of my head that is not covered by the insurance. I told the staff during the call I did not want this. On the day of the visit they did it anyways. They also did numerous x-rays of the tooth. I was billed for the scan and the insurance did not cover it! I received an updated bill for another $190 evaluation amount. I have been gathering my paperwork to refute the $325.00 and received a collection notice. I called the office to discuss. I was told today that if I did not do the scan the DDS would not have treated me!! I asked why was I not told about this on the original call. And, there is an issue with my bridge and I need a new one. So this office is billing patients for a service that is NOT approved by the insurance. If they are doing x-rays why do they need a scan of your whole mouth when they are working on pone tooth? Not happy and will not go here again or recommend this office.

Outside of getting use to the various smells that the procedure produced, my experience was that this was easier than having a cavity filled. Dr. Philip Cabrera was wonderful; he was thoughtful and clear with his communication. I have a rare sensory disorder that his team attended to with care and compassion. And, from the time the Novocaine wore off to now, I have had NO pain or swelling!! (I saw Dr. Cabrera at 255 Park Ave #700, Worcester, MA).
