I had heard that Market Basket has a really good rotisserie chicken so I decided to try one. The price was right...less than $5 for a whole rotisserie chicken ! Will Cravens the worst worker there. My sister went up to him and he got pissed that he had to make ice cream, mind you this was 7:30pm, when the cafe closes at 9pm. I don't know why he was cleaning. I went up to get an ice cream myself and he just completely ignores me and went into the back. He has terrible customer service skills. Not polite. Market Basket-Plymouth Over the years ( I am now approaching 80), I have shopped at numerous supermarkets. I give the store high praise for its cleanliness, well stocked shelves and friendly helpful staff (using Spanglish does help). Prices are good when compared to other local food markets. When checking out in almost all cases there are people to bag the food. The prepared food section offers a wide selection of choices at great prices. Need specialized meet cuts, just ask. Hard to understand the criticism raised by others. The fresh orange is a plus. read more

Thirty years ago a woman was hired where I worked in Falmouth. She told us about this fabulous grocery store with great stock and prices that was so good to their employees. Her ex-husband was a department manager at their store in Raynham. This was my introduction to Market Basket. My friends and I started going there and later to the Fairhaven store when it opened. I am such a fan of Market Basket and was so excited when they opened in Bourne that I saved their first flyer. I went to a luncheon of the Cape Cod chapter of my college alumni that year and and what was the topic of conversation? Market Basket of course. Even people from the lower cape were going there. I am so impressed with the cleanliness of the store and how it is run. It is truly is a well oiled machine which is a tribute to the manager whom I see all around the store. One of my favorite stores, their meat department is one of the all time best places to buy certified angus beef. I've found their angus prices constantly lower than other stores I frequent. Likewise their seafood dept sales have been excellent, especially dry harvest scallops which I've purchased for $12/lb. upon occasion. Produce is another highlight at Market Basket, quality, variety, ethnic items, you just can't beat this store. They provide great value, have a super assortment; items that aren't readily available elsewhere are on display there. Kudos to management, they definitely have their fingers on the pulse of their customers. I appreciate this Market Basket. The employees are still friendly here and the supply and demand are met fairly well considering the demand is great! We actually drive 20 minutes to this Market Basket for those very reasons. we live 3 minutes from the Bourne Market basket, but employees are not very friendly there and the shelves are always empty. I know it has a heavier traffic so I'll cut them some slack and drive out of my way to Plymouth. read more

Have shopped here for a few years. I find the produce usually not fresh. Broccoli is always soft. I've thrown out a few half gallons of milk as it went bad well before expiration date. I just threw out a head on garlic I bought three days ago because most of the cloves were rotten (I did feel it when I bought it and it looked fresh on the outside). At today's food prices, the last thing I want to do is throw out food. The other thing that I notice is how congested itcan be. Not because of shoppers but because of workers. Many of them are stocking but I also have to maneuver around pallets and shopping carts full of food without a worker in site. I've had to move a huge pallet to get to what I want and I'm 70 years old. I now purchase my staples here but go to other stores for some of my produce. I won't shop here the week before any holiday. read more

I'm surprised this location has few stars, but this Market Basket is the friendliest store I have been too. I'm from New York and I visit Plymouth often for family, and if they're out of groceries we usually go to Market Basket. It's a clean location and sometime they will run out on certain items, but the staff are friendly and will let you know when they're expecting the next shipment. It is kind of confusing to find the organic verses non-organic, but just ask a staff member and they will kindly point you to the right direction. The wait time on the line will vary depending on the queue, but it's great to see Market Basket hire all sorts of people. On my last visit to Market Basket, I encountered a cashier named Floyd who checked the eggs to ensure they weren't cracked and made a small Micky Mouse sticker for my niece. I gave this five stars because it really is an amazing grocery store. They had a tremendous selection of pretty much everything. I can't imagine going into the store and not finding an ingredient that you were looking for to cook. Personally I hate grocery shopping and this is an enormous store. So this is for the cook's out there and I think that you would really enjoy going here to find the ingredients for a special recipe or to do your everyday shopping. It was very clean and organized and made me feel very safe during the pandemic. The people working there were very nice and very helpful. I guess it has everything that a shopper would want in a grocery store. I am happy that they are coming to Rhode Island and that we can take advantage of that soon. read more

Still a nice place to shop, but I have to take off a star because they have run out of items on more than one occasion (eg., Asparagus, Basil, Cream of Tartar) Granted, two of these instances were this week leading up to Christmas, and the place is crowded, but it still seems ridiculous. The best part is when I was looking for a specific cut of meat for a soup the meat department people were able to point me in a direction for a substitute for the product I needed. I only shop at other markets when I'm need a few items. I would highly recommend you give Market Basket a try if you haven't. Frankly, I'm stunned by a 3.5 rating which is undeserved. This is a spotlessly clean, friendly, well laid out, bargain conscious store. I was converted to MarketBasket (Sagamore) 5 or 6 years ago and thrilled when they opened in Plymouth where I work at the Boys & Girls Club. Usually a great store with great produce. However lately the sliced watermelon and the cubed watermelon are hard and inedible. I thought it was just a bad batch but bought more and had the same problem. Many of the pears won't ripen. The strawberries were half white so I didn't waste my money on those. It is sad to see another Plymouth supermarket decline. read more

No matter how busy this store gets, there is rarely a wait at the check out registers. Fully manned registers, no self check-outs, totally customer service-oriented store. Tons of selections. Even pasta that most stores seem to have non of. AND you do not need a card in order to get the discounts and sale prices. A store that we all used to enjoy back in the day without self-check outs and actual people to help you check out. The only down side was when a meat was on sale and it rang up the wrong price. When we explained the signs at the bin had sale prices they wouldn't help by getting someone to look to confirm. When we went back the next day the sale price signs were gone and the correct sale items were in the bin. Other than that one incident Market Basket is THE place to go when you need great customer service, variety, quality produce, and stocked shelves. read more

I went to the Grand Opening and first thing I did was meet Arthur T. Demoulas. A very nice man and he was happy to meet everybody. The store was mobbed- they had lobsters on sale for 4.99 a pound- any size no limit. Bought two- went back and bought two more. I went back a few days later-they had the fresh duck breasts I had found in the Sagamore store. Their produce and seafood and meat are very good, I will not buy supermarket seafood anywhere but MB.Staff was very helpful and friendly and I look forward to being a regular customer. So happy they finally opened a MB near me. Hooray for Artie and the staff! Good work! OH, and i bought a $5 scratch ticket out of the machine and hit for $100! read more

Nice clean store, but don't go there to buy a bottle of wine. Needed some wine to take to a Thanksgiving dinner and, to my surprise, there was no liquor department. I always shop here but the produce has really decreased in quality over the last year. Whenever I buy anything, it usually spoils within a day or two, even if it isn't on markdown. Usually see mold on tomatoes and onions if I look to buy them. Recently bought unripe avocados that were completely brown inside. The prices just don't justify the quality of food. During these tough times it is nice to see such a good operation. However some of the fellow customers that are out and about and freaking out at the store are so rude. Me and some lady just had it out in one of the aisles. We just fought over toilet paper and it got ugly. She told me I didn't need two cases of charmin and I told her I had tai food last night and I have IBS so she can kiss my ass. She didn't take that well and punched me in the throat. I got up and threw all the apples in my cart at her until I drilled her in the back of the head and sent her straight into the Mac and cheese display. Turns out this was my old math teacher in high school Mrs Williams. Hated her then and still hate her. I'm glad her husband got caught at the Asian massage parlor and went to jail. The store has been very accommodating to the best of their abilities during this time. I've been able to get all the veggies, meats and dairies that I need. Luckily liquor stores are staying open so I don't have to keep drinking hand sanitizers and taking it from people that actually need it. Good prices, funny announcements over the PA, tons of staff. The quality can vary; brand new bags of salad with jellied purple lettuce, browning meat, etc. The parking lot is a nightmare and currently you cannot access the plaza next to it without using the main road. read more

I agree with the reviews on here this Market Basket is great . . . BUT . . . what is the deal with the 12 items or less lines and people constantly checking out with 25+ items? Why have an express line if you are NEVER going to enforce it? How about if you at least enforce it from 11:00 - 1:00 while people are running in to grab something quick on their lunch time? I go in once a week on my lunch to pick up a few things and I have never checked out without someone in the line in front of me having well over 12 items! Not once! How does Market Basket do it? Excellent low prices and a huge array of food that you can't find anywhere else. I also love that you cater to the different cultures of the area. I love that I can get Canadian pork pies in one section and then Portuguese rolls in another. I love shopping here and I spend half the amount that I do in Big Y or Stop and Shop! So my husband and I have been coming here for years I was actually hired here as an employee when they first opened but took another job due to the fact that I was going to get paid better and needed to take care of my family. Since then I've lost my home and things have gone downhill all I want to say is that the manager that runs this place has treated me like a complete derelict even though I'm in the store buying things on a daily basis he makes it a point to come to me and my husband and treat us in a horrible way put us out there in front of other customers and has causes extreme distress. The other employees are wonderful and it's not their fault that their boss is a complete jerk that decides who deserves to be in his store and who doesn't . I was told the other day that because I was in the bathroom changing my husband's bandage that I'm on thin ice and that they are very good to me and I don't deserve to be in their store anymore and I'm lucky that I am allowed in his store. Even though I have caught him going through my things while I was in the bathroom with another customer saying that he thought there was a bomb in my bag. He has been nothing but a monster to me and followed me around the store assuming that I in some kind of derelict because have had hard times in my life and he knows this because he works with people in my family. Also has has demoted people in my family probably do to me not due to their own thing but saying they are responsible for the things that he is really responsible for and trying to cover up for himself he's nothing but a trifling awful person that is trying to keep his own job and on top of it degrade innocent people. It's usually good but I had a rather horrible encounter at the deli, I came in at 8 when I just got back from a trip. I was approached by this goblin looking woman and she asked me if she could help. So I was ordering and she was extremely rude and disrespectful when I was just trying to get sliced meat. Then I wanted their best roast beef (because they don't have boars head) and she snickered and said it was 10.99 a pound. Implying that I couldn't afford it. Just completely rude, degrading and uncalled for. She's going to talk down to me? Like lady you're in no position. Their prices are better than other supermarkets in the area, I have saved so much money going here.. but on more than one occasion I have found items out of code, or they are out of, or don't carry.. and their freezer sections aren't cold enough, I have picked up items that felt mushy and not completely frozen. read more

Okay, "fresh" produce should not be on the shelf with mold and best by dates of 8/16/16 ... Today is the 20th ... If I'm trying to buy stuff for the week, why is it expiring tomorrow? Really Market Basket? Sure you load the store up with veteran employees when it opens and the store had been great, but the last two weeks I've had nothing but local grumpy employees, local managers more interested in sweeping the floor than getting customers fresh items. Or complaining about other employees. Or talking about customers telling them about expired dates. What did he say about my wife oh ya "she's digging deep" Ya .. That happened within my ear shot. Managers are non existent at the registers, or having in depth conversations at the end of the aisles. U boats are left in aisles with nobody around them making it difficult to shop certain aisles. Lack of pricing signs on items are a plenty, yes you have price checker but you know what, they are not in every department at a hands reach. Nobody smiles in this store. The cashiers and baggers, my god really? I separated my cold items from my dry items. Asked them to keep them that way, this obviously caused the cashier and bagger to slow down. I had maybe 50 items.. This took them 15 minutes to process and bag. If my wife didn't help bag, we may have been there 20 minutes. I don't live in the area, but I do drive the 30 miles to get here. We want to continue shopping here, but the screws need to be tightened, too many people takes their jobs for granted. And if you stop striving to provide a good product you might lose customers. read more

Terrible service lately in the last couple of weeks. The deli is always short handed. The cheese cut so thin it breaks apart. The pizza section the poor guy was running up and down the isles to get toppings. No one else was helping him with over a 45 min wait. The shelves were empty no options for rice bags. Really?!
