Market Market!It's been around for quite a while, even before BGC was developed. I visited the Philippines many times when I was younger, and back then, there wasn't much around. Seeing Market Market now shows how the Philippines has become more modern. It's a lively place where families can gather for special occasions, with various stands offering good prices, though I remember thinking the prices were quite reasonable. Interestingly, when you travel to the provinces or countryside, souvenirs and treats can be cheaper than here. Market Market has a nostalgic vibe, blending modern shopping with Filipino charm. Market! Market! Was such a cool place to shop. It was a mixture of big mall and small town Filipino shopping outside. I loved that you could buy WHATEVER you needed all in one location. The selection of Filipino treats outside was AMAZING. Everything was reasonably priced. I was able to get a quick haircut for $6! Unheard of here in the states! While I was getting a haircut my family was able to enjoy a late dinner snack. It was an amazing place to visit. read more

Authentic. Nestled on the edge of BGC, this shopping plaza is an authentic a filipino market as you will see in BGC. They have your Filipino staples and tons of little shops. Mind you, it is overpriced because A) you're in Manila and B) you're in BGC, but compared to the rest of BGC, at least it tries to be Filipino. read more

Not really amazed of this market market. Already seen much better establishments like this in other Asian countries I've traveled to with my family. Crowd is obnoxious, and BGC is overhyped. There's much more enjoyable and less crowded malls in the NCR region that are worthwhile for family outings. read more

I've been to Market Market twice before, the first time was 13 years ago and most recently last month when I was on vacation. Market Market has a Fresh Produce Market and they also sell goodies from different regions in the Philippines that's organized by location which is nice. There's an outdoor foodcourt with several cheap eateries. The Market Market mall is just alright, I went looking for real Filipino DVDs and not the pirated ones but I couldn't find any. They only had the pirated versions here. I even looked at SM, Megamall etc. and Filipino DVDs are pretty much non-existent. Overall, I wouldn't put this at the top of your Philippine Itinerary. I'd only go here if you've been everywhere else and need a filler activity. read more

It's a nice place for shopping. You will have a variety of choices from head to foot. You can see cheap products and high quality products at the same time. There are also tons of choices of fast foods or restaurants in the area. If you are a little low on food budget, you can try their food court where they sell food for a cheap price but still delicious. You can also check their timezone if you want to play some video games or if you have kids, they can play in the playground in front of Starbucks. Remember: The place is pretty crowded but who cares if you are having fun. read more

The best thing about Market! Market! is not its proximity to SM Aura. The best thing about Market! Market! is its, ehm, market. It's a "palengke" without the "palengkeras". The merchandise can be slightly more expensive (sometimes) but their variety and quality, as well as the cleanliness and convenience of the venue make it worth it. It's easy for me to find a wide assortment of fruits and vegetables here without having to walk too far in one place. I think this is down to Market! Market!'s nice selection of vendors. It's nice to bring friends from abroad here because they get the market and haggling experience comfortably. Plus, there's a food court nearby that can serve them traditional Filipino fare in a hawker-ish setting. read more

Used to live in BGC for quite awhile. And Market2x is and has always been my favorite place to do shopping and grabbing my grocery. Store wise, it's a people friendly Mall. People from all walks of life come by here to shop and dine and to simply spend time with family and friends. There's wide variety of food places out side the very store. I like the array of food stalls and restaurants surrounding it and I get to choose whatever I am craving for the day. As for me, that I no longer reside here, every time my hubby and I come here for vacation, I always grab the chance to enjoy the yummy Pinoy delicacies..and the very first thing on my mind would be- LECHON! Haha ;-D Market2x has that, either you buy it inside where they have a stall that sells lechon, or outside it's up to you! As for shopping clothes , they have a bunch to pick from. The good thing about this mall is that most of their goods are a lot cheaper that that of the competitor alongside that's why so many people that would prefer to shop here. It's obvious because they are always packed. The thing though, when you're done shopping, it's quite a challenge to get a cab. You either just have to patiently wait for the long line in the taxi lane or if you want to save some money, they have jeepney lane on the other side too. I was told this is the hang out for the riches both Filipinos and foreigners. There are tons of shops from local to all around shops-big and small including all the ones I know of in the US. My SIL is so gracious to leave her condo and have me enjoy this space whilst her trip to go back to her permanent home in Guam. There are lots of activities to do here including the R&R stuff. It can't get better than this. I could live here where everything is within my reach, and them some especially when it comes to food. So much food you guys! I felt like I was in heaven. People are pushy to make you to want to shop and eat. Lots of them are English speaking as well. Nice, right? I haven't stopped doing anymore damage to my health as I continue to search for goods I missed and other stuff to discover. It's a nice mall to visit. There are many good fashion stores and I am glad that I stopped by to have some fun. I didn't have the chance to eat here because I was on a bus tour with other Americans and we were off to go to Metro City. I wish to come back here again whenever I have the chance. read more

Now this, THIS, is my kind of mall. I work near SM Aura and it's a bit too upscale for my taste, and I can never afford any of the stuff in there. Even the food in the foodcourt is way too expensive, which is why I've very thankful for the proximity of Market! Market! to Aura. I go there almost every day, not only because that's where I can get a jeepney home, but also for the, er, market. I used to live in Cubao, and the Farmers Market was within walking distance. So when I moved to Makati, I missed the cheap fruits and other fresh produce. I can find all of that here in Market! Market!, and then some. There are also gorgeous flowers and bouquets here (ehem, ehem, hunny!). read more

Whenever I need to buy some local delicacies to give to foreign friends or whenever balikbayans come around, I usually head on over to the ground floor, open area of Market! Market! (near the carpark). In this area, several kiosks selling native goodies from all over The Philippines can be found. Each kiosk usually represents a particular town or province and their stall is filled with tons of delicious things from that particular town. My boyfriend and I once brought our Japanese friend here who was visiting town and she went completely nuts, buying almost everything that we recommended. The same goes for when my relatives from the States come over. Tons of hours are spent poring over the selections available here. While waiting, I usually head on over to the open-air food court right beside the kiosks to grab a bite to eat. They serve mostly Filipino dishes there. Very lively and not too crowded or messy like usual markets! I stumbled upon it while shopping on the high street and got some lovely flowers for my place. I was mesmerised by the stands giving product demonstrations of household products like specific brooms or sponges, I know it sounds silly but I thought they were doing a great job! I'm not that big a fan of Market! Market! as a mall, especially when you compare it to SM Aura that's just across the street. It's crowded, it's noisy, and the layout is confusing. But maybe that's just me. But the fact of the matter is - Market! Market! isn't just a mall. It is also, at its core, a market, and that is where its strength lies. Right outside the mall is an entire lot filled with wet and dry produce, and even the most beautiful powers this side of the metro. This is also a direct 'bagsakan' of fresh fruits, so expect that what you get here took a shortcut straight from the tree and into your hands. read more

I really don't like Market Market, the mall. But I like Market Market, the market. The mall is very chaotic and is filled with a lot of uninteresting fashion and home brands. There's blaring music all over the place, and it is generally a very unpleasant experience. However, if you're looking for electronics, it's probably the only place in the Fort to go. In terms of the market, the flower stalls are what you should come for. There are loads of great flower shops which sell both potted and cut flowers and greens. They don't really allow you to make 'tawad' but the prices are okay for Manila standards. Plus the flowers are pretty fresh and there's a good selection. Market! Market used to be moderately full of people before, but now whenever I go it's always freakin' packed. For that reason, I find myself avoiding this mall of bargains more often lately. It's a shame, because who doesn't love a good bargain? There are lots of those to be found here, because aside from the stand alone brand stores and the ubiquitous department store, what sets M! M! (argh, the name is too hassle to keep typing) apart from other malls, and especially its classy Ayala Mall brethren, is the presence of airconditioned tiangges within the mall. It's an ideal place to find fashion for cheap. Generally the product quality, despite the low prices, is really good. For example, my soft cozy beanie of 5 years from one of dozens of tiangge stalls is still in good shape today. Look out for the mini shop called Link that sells affordable business and smart casual wear. That's where I bought a sunset colored dress for, I dunno, at most 600 pesos. There's also a tiangge floor dedicated to pasalubong items and Filipino crafts. Ahh, those beautiful geometric capiz lamps. If you're looking for fresh produce, check out the palengke in the ..uh, atrium?. Basta that open plaza near the jeepney terminal and before the entrance to the building. They sell not just fruits and veggies but also flowers for any and every occasion. It's a little hot out there, but you could always cool off by running into the fountain. Oh, and there are several little stands selling Filipino food. They're organized by province, so it's super easy to find what you're looking for. read more

I don't consider myself a shopaholic. But when I do decide to shop, I usually go to a place that offers variety. I just love the idea that there are options out there for me to explore. I am also a cheapskate and all for the thrill of the find. That's why I just love going to Market! Market! Aside from stores that feature local and international brands, what's nice about it are the "tiangge" or flea market type of sellers that offer clothing options at a much cheaper price. You just have to rely on your personal taste to guide you in discovering that much coveted fashion find that's bound to be a steal. Recently I purchased a navy cardigan that's very Comme De GarĆon for less than P600. Printed floral shirts are also very in this summer and I saw some stalls displaying this latest trend during my last visit. There's also a stall called Gigli that sells Sebago type boat shoes for less than half the price of the authentic ones. If you're not very particular about branded stuff and you let style take over price then Market! Market is the shopping destination for you my kindred cheapskate. read more

Market! Market! isn't my favorite of malls. It's a place to do errands and get stuff done, but definitely not a "browsing" mall like Glorietta or Greenbelt or High Street Central. One of the things I do like about Market! Market! though is the Fashion and Gift Markets. It's a bit like Greenhills but with a less variety and way closer to home. (Since I live down south!) I like browsing through the knick knacks in the Gift Market when I need a quick gift for a friend's birthday or when I need to mass buy small gifts for Christmas. The Fashion Market is also a place you can find some pretty good clothing steals if you search hard enough. Market! Market! is also home to one of my favorite vintage clothing stores called NAVA, so there's that too. Not to mention the fruit & veg & flower market outside! The flower market has reasonable prices for their flowers, but predictably, they shoot up like crazy once February hits. Also: Market! Market! is home to a ton of thieves. Already I've had a phone and a wallet stolen in the mall, and at separate times too. So watch your stuff while you shop! read more
