When I still live in the Philippines, I've been going to SM Megamall since it opened in 1991. It was the biggest mall in the Philippines at that time and had its run for 17 years. Now it is the third largest mall in the Philippines and the thirteenth largest mall in the world with almost 1,000 shops including retail and dining outlets. This mall have almost everything, from specialty stores, clothing, electronics, arcade and video games, hardware, bookstores, sporting goods, restaurants, cafés and food court, movie theaters, and kiosks by merchants. I got lost in here. Which if you're not paying attention, it's slightly easy to do. However I found this small a little mind blowing because of all the different sections, corridors, and hallways. I think the electronic section is pretty cool. I love that that there are several food shops here which I will always visit and I love kultura. read more

I had been coming to this mall since the 90s but I haven't explored every nooks and niches this mall has. Situated in a land area of 25 acres and over 5 million square foot of total floor area, I wonder if I'll really be able to see everything that's in here. All along, I have always thought that this is the biggest mall in the Philippines but I still as wrong. Although this mall can hold a maximum capacity of 4 million people, it only ranks second biggest behind Its other location, SM North EDSA. But it doesn't really matter to me be it the biggest or not, I love this mall. There's so many choices for all your needs: over 800 stores and 300 dining options. Not only that they have cinemas, conference rooms, art galleries, multiple gyms, skating rink, bowling alleys, supermarket, and even an embassy. There are over 4000 parking spots available but if you don't want to drive, the mall is also easily accessible through MRT. read more

This mall has everything, and in case you miss something this mall might even have *another* location in the same mall. Yes, that's right. In case you walk by Goldilocks the first time because you're watching your diet, there will be another one, later on, to tempt you again. This mall is pretty huge, and yet not a total labyrinth like MoA. It's basically one long building with a bunch of floors, that are kind of separated into shopping zones. There's an electronics area, a kids arcade area, foods area, and one floor is like the medi-spa nail salon floor. We spent basically the whole day here, ate lunch, got our nails done, watched a movie, went shopping for cellphone accessories, and bought some baked goods. Anything you want you can do here. You want a body scrub or massage? Yass please. Oh you need to buy a new pair of glasses? Which of a dozen stores do you want to go to? Really, you can break the bank here if you want to, or just stay for the free AC read more

I've been to SM Megamall a handful of times. It's the second largest mall in the Philippines. Megamall is located in Mandaluyong next to Shangri-La Plaza and the Podium. I believe there's 5 or 6 levels. The mall includes a Catholic Chapel, Bowling Alley, Ice Skating Rink, Movie Theater, numerous salons and spas etc. They also have some unique shops and eateries that you wouldn't find anywhere else in the Philippines like Victoria's Secret, MAC, Shake Shack, Panda Express etc. Definitely one of the better malls in the Philippines. read more

My last review from my Philippines trip. This is one of the largest SM mall in the Metro Manila Philippines especially if you want to get your Fitbit steps! Hahaha It does say mega, right? I believe it's one of the biggest malls of the world and I believe it. It's a mini city! I came here when I was in college and everything has been upgraded since then. It feels that it got bigger or expanded than before. The floor views looks like forever long! It consists of 5 floors and I never finish going through the whole mall. Its just too big and tiring... This mall has everything. Just so you know, SM owns the mall but there are many other brand stores to shop at within. There has to be like 400+ stores here; just guessing though! I just know it's a lot of stores here. There are businesses connected to this mall. There is a garage that you have to pay a small fee. There is an ice rink and seems to have been rebuilt. I would have liked to bring the kids here. There is a big IMAX Theater to watch recent movies. I would go here to take a break from walking and shopping. The place is crowded with people and many come, I think, to shelter from the heat. The AC in here doesn't feel strong as there are too many bodies in there but if you have nothing else to do or hang out with friends, this is the place to be! read more

Malls are EVERYWHERE in Manila! I mean, there are so many that some malls are right across each other. But, the mall of all malls is SM. SM has so many branches across the Philippines! But, SM Megamall is the SM branch I grew up with. I still remember when that area was an empty field. I was still in kindergarten when it was being built. Guess what? They are still building and adding more "halls" to the structure. The most recent addition is the SM Fashion Hall. You'll find the newest, high-end brands here. Also, this is the location if the first H&M in Manila. :) Now, why do people flock to SM Megamall? As their song goes, "we've got it ALL for YOU!" And they deliver! You can get EVERYTHING you can think of inside SM Megamall! There is a cinema, not 1 but 2 groceries, a church, an ice skating ring, bowling, spas, salons, etc. You name it, they've got it! Of course, food + shopping! You are applied for choice. That's why many pinoys will literally spend the whole day in SM Megamall. I also love that it stays open longer during the Christmas season. When the traffic will be horrendous, at least I can spend my time in SM Megamall doing what everyone else will doing... shopping, shopping, SHOPPING! :D read more

We walked for almost 6 hours and still only got through 1/3 of this mall. It really is a megamall in every sense of the word. We found a jamaican pattie place on the ground floor across from the supermarket, which was great. We also found some delicious pastries (carrot cake and macarons - which are cheaper than the cost you'd pay for them in nyc). The only weird thing is that they check everyone who enters the mall for weapons and things like that, so depending on the time of day you arrive you may have to wait for a bit before entering the mall. Once you're in though, you never have to leave. Everything you could ever want is in this place. If you're a tourist, make sure you check out the halo halo in food court a (tagatay style). read more

Loved shopping here. Not only is the mall packed with several stores and restaurants but the layout is really convenient. Stores of the same specialty are close together which makes it easy to shop if you're looking for something in particular. SM Megamall is a fucking mega mall. All you foreigners out there, imagine a mall that's as big as the biggest mall you've ever seen. Double that. That's probably still smaller than SM Megamall. If you think about it, MOA has all the roads and the SMX convention centers and the bay side, North EDSA has all those smaller malls next to it. Megamall is the biggest one that's just, well, the mall. It's just a really huge fucking ass mall. To get an idea of the sheer hugeness of SM Megamall, think about this. At the 4th floor or 5th floor, not totally sure, at least half of the floor is devoted to just tons of independent art galleries. In a mall. Jesus, literally every single brand on earth might have a shop branch here in this one mall. Coleman? Yeah, they have a store here. Under Armour? Yep, it's here. The amazing thing about Megamall is that you can legitimately find everything here. Sure, it's crowded sometimes, but with the recent expansion called the Fashion Hall, there is now more hugeness of space left to be covered. Really, it might be my favorite mall out there. read more

Whenever I make the trek to SM Megamall, I have one thing in mind: SHOPPING. The recent opening of the SM Fashion Hall has really put the place on the map as the mall that has got everything. With shops like H&M, Uniqlo, Pull & Bear, Zara, Crate and Barrel and so much more opening branches in the mall, how can one even resist the pull run wild and spend, spend, spend! There's also a number of interesting restaurants like Ippudo, Tuan Tuan, Fireside by Kettle, Linguini Fini and so much more. The much-awaited food stand of The Shawarma Bros will be opening in the SM Food Hall very soon. SM also has a bowling alley and a skating rink! So if you're not in the mood to shop or eat, you can spend time with friends and family in those places. read more

After all that renovation, SM Megamall has once again upped its game. It's so hard to compete with a mall that basically has all the best shops - Forever21, H&M, Topshop, Crate and Barrel, Uniqlo, and Factorie. They also brought in new restaurants from abroad - Tim Ho Wan, Triple O's, Tuan Tuan Brasserie, and that Japanese Croissant shop I forgot the name of. Thank goodness they decided to add parking as part of their expansion project. If there's one thing Megamall is most infamous for, it's having no parking. After the addition of a basement parking, it's much easier to find a spot even when you come in at around 5 or 6 pm. You'll find everything you need in Megamall. Beware of the crowds though, if you're not one to wade through a sea of people, then it's best to find another mall to visit. read more

I am undeniably a mall rat. I would usually frequent this mall by myself or with a group of friends to shop, dine, watch a movie or just grab a coffee and laze around while watching the people pass by. After the recent renovations, this mall has once again risen from the ashes and reclaimed its throne as one of the major malls in the metro. With the opening of a new building, it now houses a lot of international and luxury brands that socialites would definitely fancy. I'm also glad that they rebuilt the ice skating rink for this generation to enjoy. I had a lot of fun memories during my childhood that were set there. Now, kids don't need to drive all the way to Pasay just to experience the "cool" rush of the skating rink. Aside from the fun activities that the mall offer, they have also expanded their selection of restaurants and food stops for the hungry mall goers. Now, each visit is a whole new gastronomic adventure for all ages, social status and budget range. read more

People usually compare SM Megamall with SM North Edsa because of their sizes but for my money, I prefer SM Megamall - primarily because this mall makes sense. It's just one long mall - it's virtually impossible to get lost. Have you seen North Edsa? That place is a freaking labyrinth. No doubt, SM Megamall is one of the biggest malls in Manila. It boasts a number of high-end and low-end establishments, having over 1,200 stores and has a maximum capacity of about 4,000,000 people. Despite being the largest shopping mall in the country, some people fail to recognize its greatness. A lot of maarte and annoying people I know complain that the crowd is not sosyal enough and it doesn't have anything new to offer (What are they even talking about, seriously?). I have to admit that SM Megamall doesn't have the most "sophisticated" crowd, but I obviously go there to shop and not to pay too much attention on total strangers. This mall also has one of the biggest Forever 21 (my favorite store of all time) branches in the Philippines. Their H&M and Uniqlo store has three floors, so you clearly have a lot of options to choose from. Besides shopping malls, SM Megamall also has a huge skating rink. If you haven't tried skating before, you should definitely go here with your barkada. read more

Before SM Mega Fashion Hall, there was Mega Atrium. It was the newest thing in SM for about a year I think. The Atrium is a host to newer restaurants, shops, and services that Megamall was in dire need of when it first opened to the public. My favorite part of the Atrium would easily be the BIG "church" (not sure if it's qualified to be an actual church) on the fifth floor, where my family and I used to have mass in if ever we were in Mega on Sunday. While I disagree with the whole concept of churches in malls overall, there's no denying that it's convenient and a big upgrade to the tiny chapel that used to be on the fifth floor. Other than that, there's a plethora of restaurants and cafes to try out in Atrium, like Gong Cha on the lowest level. My favorite restaurants there would probably be Bigby's and Amici. read more

ENDLESS shopping! I'm Filipino myself & raised in the states, so going to this mall is a dream come true. It's HUGE, multiple stores & floors! They have everything from the SM dept store to Zara in this mall! Probably the most decent SM mall I went to while visiting Manila. When I was a kid, my parents would bring me to Megamall all the time to play in Glico's. Once more malls were built nearer to our house, we would only go to Megamall at least once or twice a year or maybe even never. Last year, Megamall opened a new area called the Fashion Hall which I only got to enter this year. But because of the different events and unique stores that I wanted to go to this year, my once, twice or never became thrice so far for 2015. The Fashion Hall is beautiful. Sometimes I don't even feel like I'm in Megamall. I get so tired just walking from building to building, but in the Fashion Hall, I feel like everything I want is there. H&M, Crate & Barrel, Uniqlo, you name it! So if you have the time, check out the new area of Megamall. It really is something new. read more

This place truly is the quintessential SM - right down to the layout, which is one long box with the department store smack in the middle and everything else to the side. That's one of the things I like about it. Despite its size, it stayed true to what it is at its very core, and grew accordingly. The layout also helps because you can't get lost here, unlike in North Edsa. The best part here, I think, is their Filbars branch in the lower ground floor. It's one of the biggest branches in the metro, and they have amazing collections of geeky merchandise for my kind of people. read more

SM Megamall is not a mall I'd frequent for many reasons: it's crowded, it's noisy, it's so far from my area, the mall isn't even connected to the MRT station so you have to make the walk through the crowded and noisy streets to get from Shangri-La to Megamall - but I will say this: it really lives up to the SM tagline of "we've got it all for you." I think this is why the mall is so huge. It's got everything. Chances are, if you can't find something that you need in SM, you're probably going to find it in SM Megamall. I like the range of shops that they have, and not to mention the giant H&M store that makes the H&M in Makati look like shoebox. Also more importantly, they have a really nice ice skating rink. Ice skating is a rare past time here in the humid heat of the Philippines, so finding a nice ice skating rink is really great for people who love to do it. I think the rink in Megamall is way nicer than the one in SM Mall of Asia, so if ever I was gonna go to Megamall for a non-errand activity, it would definitely be to go ice skating. read more

SM Megamall is just incredible. It's hard to advertise the size of malls are huge in the Philippines, but they are monstrous. Sometimes they have 3 of the same store in different areas of the mall. I am sure there are 3 Jollibee's in here. If you are a tourist and you love shopping, go to the Philippines for the biggest malls I have ever seen. I am sure there are bigger malls somewhere, but these are like the size of 5 South Coast Plaza's and I am not even kidding. It is very clean and surprisingly has some tech to find the mall for you. The only hard thing is that no one knows where anything is if you ask, they'll just defer to another person. There is just a lot of things in the mall. You just have to figure out where things are. I've been to this mall since I was a little kid. I remember when I was a little kid, I would always be so happy and excited when my family says that "we are going to Megamall." It's like I was going to Disneyland (I didn't live in Metro Manila when I was a little kid in the PI. I lived in a boring city with nothing much to do. That city is Olongapo for those that are curious). When I visit the PI, this mall is always on the itinerary and it never fails to disappoint. I'm not much of a shopper but this mall makes shopping such a fun experience due to the huge variety they have here. If you want to know why Filipinos love malls so much, then a visit here will answer your question. Its massively HUGE, comfortable, and clean. If you are suffering from that awful Filipino heat or you're soaking wet as a result of that awful Filipino storm, then do what the locals do; come in here, relax, and let the time fly. read more

I was at the SM Appliance Center at The Mega Mall on June 22, 2019 looking to buy a refrigerator. I found a "Service guy" and he kept leaving me. I found him again and asked him another fridge question but he left again. There are a gazzillion attendants in this place but you would think that they would be more service attentive but this guy, god bless him but he doesn't belong there. The last time I critiqued the Philippine's lack of discipline and I was called a racist. Admit you have a problem and maybe the Chinese will not push you all over the Archipelago. read more

This mall used to be the largest mall in Metro Manila, a long time before the SM Mall of Asia opened in Pasay. My family and I would frequent this mall on Sundays, and usually have lunch at one of the buffet restaurants located in the walkways in between Mega A and Mega B. As with any SM, they're pretty complete with all your necessities, especially with the diversity of stores that can cover all economic classes. Recently, they've opened up a new Fashion Hall, which houses a lot of new trendy stores from abroad, such as H&M, Uniqlo, River Island and Forever 21. What I really like is that this new Fashion Hall is the prime location for (relatively) new restaurants to try out, especially the famous Tim Ho Wan and Ippudo Ramen (which I personally have yet to try). Megamall is doing a lot of upgrades to maintain its position as one of the largest malls in the Metro, and by constantly upgrading their parking area and the quality of retail stores available, they're sure to stay as a prime shopping location for a very long time. read more

SM Megamall I am confident is the most complete mall in the city. Of course, if you're looking for the world's most expensive luxury brands such as YSL or Bottega Veneta, you're better off heading to Greenbelt or Shangri-La Plaza, but otherwise, this is as good as it gets. Many of the retail brands that I used to look forward to going to the States for are now available here. my favorite mall back home. everything you could possibly need is here! they're even opening a Halal Guys here in a few months! i mean, is there even one anywhere in the US besides NYC? lots of great restaurants and shopping. i can literally spend the whole day here visiting all the stores. i can't think of any US retail outlets that don't already have a space in Megamall. My favorite floor has to be the 5th because that's where there's a small hidden starbucks near the relocated skating rink which is a Godsend when the 4th floor sbucks is jammed packed. Also the 5th floor is where all the pampering is - massages, haircuts, facials, golden showers. whatever floats your boat, you can find on the 5th floor. what scares me though is that i saw a bunch of signs that said the mall is expanding. are you serious? expanding to where? outer space? read more

This mall is at the heart of the Ortigas central business district. It has expanded within itself over decades and houses the biggest international clothing brands like H&M, Uniqlo, Zara, et al and Asian favorites like Tim Ho Wan and Din Tai Fung. It even has an NBA Store. It's always crowded as it's a major drop off point to the central business district. But for almost all your shopping and dining needs, this mall has it all. read more

"We've got it all for you" And they certainly do. I cannot think of anything that SM does not have or sell from rocking chairs, to sushi, to cameras, and ballet shoes. You will find what you need in this place that's for sure. And SM only continues to expand with editions like their Mega Atrium and Mega Fashion Hall you will not run out of places to shop or dine in this mall, ever. Super convenient, great location, great finds. But... super crowded. Because this mall offers everything you need everyone seems to be in this mall. Traffic awaits you from the entrance with a traffic system that makes absolutely no sense, cars entering and exiting from every possible place, no organization = instant headache. You get inside the mall, finally, maybe after 30 minutes of getting past the traffic plus finding a parking spot. Inside it is cold so you're a happy but then you get greeted by a mob of people at every corner, it doesn't matter if it's a weekday at 11am (right when they open) or a Saturday night, the people at Mega do not lessen, ever. So if you get headaches or get dizzy easily you might want to buy what you need and leave right after. read more

Even if I don't usually like SM Malls, Megamall is different. Sure it's the one that's probably most visited by eeeveryone and it has the most quintessentially SM character (Boxy. Crowded. Busy. Hahaha), but the sheer number of stores and the selections in their department store just completely offset every discomfort and ambience-breaker! When they say they have it 'all,' they mean it. They really do have it all! From house wear, to bathroom wear, appliances, clothes, gadgets... Everything! This is that mall where you can find any brand-- no brand in their right mind, local or foreign, would miss out on having a spot in Megamall. And now with the addition of the Mega Fashion Hall, which carries all the big international retailers (Uniqlo, H&M, Zara, Pull & Bear, Crate & Barrel, and more), it's become even more complete! No need to haul on clothes when traveling abroad. Megamall also has every service, food place, supply store, and hobby store you might need. This may not be the most relaxing, stylish mall around (just by comparison, but it's pretty nice in itself), but it's comfortable, functional, and well-fitted with everything you'd want or need. It may not be the first place you'd go to to hang out and lounge around, but it is the first place to go to when you need to do some serious shopping. read more

Ignoring all the issue and anger over how SM handles all its dealings in general, I visit SM Mega Mall quite often actually. It's pretty near my place, and it's just such a convenient mall. I don't usually go to SM Mega Mall to hang out with friends, or to relax, because it doesn't have that relaxing kind of atmosphere. But it's the top choice of mine when it comes to shopping. It has a lot of the big international brands in it from Forever 21 to H&M to Pull & Bear. Plus with the addition of the Mega Fashion Hall it has more luxury brands in it. That with the combination of the SM Department store, Mega Mall kinda has everything that I need to find. Aside from the shopping experience, I do love a lot of the restaurants here. It also has a lot of the big international franchises from Tim Ho Wan to Ippudo to Tuan Tuan, and the foodie in me loves it. There are so much good places to eat here, seriously. So when it comes to food and shopping, SM has my respect. read more
