I was stunned at the quality of the furniture, paintings, books, throw pillows and accents all throughout the store. Particularly when considering the pricing which was very reasonable. Because each item is on consignment, one must stop by often and see what is new. They simply don't have a warehouse full of the same item. Each item is unique. The best part is the mission! I tried to reach out via their email address twice with photos (both emails were returned undeliverable). I then tried to reach out twice via their "contact us" portal and never heard back. I then called them and left messages twice. No call-back. I then contacted my credit card company to file a dispute after leaving a message that would be my next course of action. Finally, I received a text to please send photos of the damage and a rude message that their server must be down. I requested that since one of the pair was badly broken, and I could not use/never would have purchased just one, I would like a refund for both or a pre-paid label to return to them the non-broken one. The owner told me I would have to pay to return the non-broken one! And they were unable to provide a replacement as these were the last two. After all they put me through, this is what they're willing to do for customer service? What good to me is one non-broken item of a pair when they have no replacements to send out? Completely illogical and horrible customer service. Never again! Certainly not the warm southern hospitality and high integrity I was used to when living in North and South Carolina for 20 years.

The first time I was present and had no issues. The second time my college aged son did the purchase with me on the phone so I could hear the entire transaction. We wanted to do same as cash xxx days financing. They did not explain any options to him just said to scan the QR code and apply that way. I had the money to pay in full but since it was holidays I wanted to take advantage of the option to split the payment with no interest. Nothing was explained about them having different types of financing options. On the day the couch was delivered and I saw the paperwork and logged into the account, they did the financing through a "bad credit" approval company which charged $100 more to pay the couch off early! Plus they added a $100 warranty that was never asked for nor explained to us that it was mandatory due to financing! A couch that we had an invoice for $798 ended up costing $1010 and should have only been $698 because we didn't ask for a warranty! Absolutely disgusting way to conduct business and try to take advantage of a college student. I should not have had to pay for a warranty I didn't want nor these extra fees to Acima financing! All I wanted was the same as cash financing! I would have paid cash for it in full had I known this company was shady!!! A $600 couch ended up costing me over $1000!!! DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!

The store was organized and clean, but there was a LOT of inventory which made it a bit difficult to move through the sections. While ringing up my items, two employees held a full out conversation about another employee. The one assisting me did not engage in any type of small talk. While I waited for my family member to get rung up, I observed another employee behind the register trying to hide the fact she was using her cell phone. Because I had flown there, I didn't browse any of the home goods sections. Prices seemed a few dollars higher than what I am used to paying for similar items however there was a good buy one get one sale going on so that helped my budget. I have received quite a few compliments on the clothing that I purchased at Belk so that is a motivator to return next time I visit family. I just won't expect much engagement with the staff.
