Drivers give a scenic tour of Toronto in order to run up the meter, and if you get one that manages to avoid ongoing red lights - they slow down in order to get them - good for you. These cab owners rent their cabs out to others, not legal, the owner of the cab, whose name should be displayed, is supposed to be the one driving. These cabs are going 24 hours a day / 7 days a week. Shocks absorbers are gone. They are the worst cab company in any country we have ever lived in. Avoid like the plague, go anywhere except to Beck.

I used Uber everyday for my 7 day vacation trip to Toronto. For the most part it was seamless and…read morethe drivers generally arrived within 7 minutes. What I've found though, that is very different to the USA, is that the Drivers tend to drop you off or pick you up on the opposite side of the road, when they can easily drop you off or pick you up on the side of the street that you're on. It's so odd...and annoying. I remember one time our driver came to pick us up and took up the lane on the other side of the road, even though it was a one way street with no traffic. What I've also noticed is that great reviews aren't necessarily a true indicator of whether a driver is good. You can have someone with glowing reviews that doesn't drive properly or isn't the most polite. All in all I will use Uber again because of the ease of logistics and the time.
