If I could give this law firm 0 stars I would . My experience started out really good . I had a lot of tickets to be resolved and he seemed willing to help out . He quoted me a good price , I payed for his services and the cases were dismissed . I was so pleased that I asked if he could look into resolving a case in Washington County and to give me a quote .He got back to me months later saying he already took care of it without my knowledge and proceeded to tell me the price AFTER he took care of it without my permission . I would have never been okay with it due to it being 1000 dollars to take care of it and I couldn't afford it at the time . That's when it went down hill and every time I called for my other cases I was treated very rudely and he made me feel bad for asking questions and treated me as if I was stupid . I would not recommend this law firm to anyone I cared about or anyone seeking an attorney who's going to do what he is trained to do like Defending regardless of personal interests or biases. I was harassed and hit twice from behind intentionally by white veteran from Willis Texas claims he was leaving veteran hospital. I called the police. When the police arrived he spent 5 minutes speaking to guy who hit me then told me I should just let it go and not open a case. But since I insisted on opening a case he gave me a ticket and even said it was because I insisted on opening a case. I decided to contact this law firm and they took my money because the attorney Markowitz later told me based on the guy who hit me Facebook pictures it couldn't have been intentional/on purpose. He asked me if I checked out his Facebook page, I replied no...why would I??? I was thinking what could an attorney possibly want or need from the hoodlum's Facebook page when I called police and my car was the only damaged vehicle. In court it was like I was assigned some straight out of law school inexperienced attorney. I could have better advocated for myself. Will have to take to civil court now. This firm was a waste of my investment in more ways than one. read more

I've used them twice for speeding tickets. In both cases the tickets were dismissed. The lawyers for each case were very professional. In both cases they had less clients than other firms there. I don't think a lawyer can give attention to your case when you are 1 of 20 people they are representing that day. I like that they don't send out mailers. I did everything over the phone with them. I emailed them a picture of my ticket. They are a bit more expensive than other lawyers out there. ($125). My friends that have used them have always had their speeding tickets dismissed. read more

This was my first time using Markowitz Law Firm and I must say they did a SUPER, SUPER job! My case was dismissed without any fines, fees or defensive driving. My communication with the law firm was seamless and they always addressed my questions or concerns right away! I failed to appear on my court date, for that they were useful and represented me on my behalf (like a lawyer is supposed to do). However, when I took a day off of work to pay my court fee that was a deal 'supposedly' cut by the lawyers. When I showed up to the courthouse, the court had no knowledge of any 'deal'-just a court reset date. Markowitz office could not fax or confirm any deal was made. I was left holding the bag. Markowitz receptionist told me maybe I would get a call back from the lawyer. Markowitz receptionist asked to speak with court clerk on the phone. Had her on speaker phone, she literally asked the court clerk "What do you recommend?" All the clerks in the court were laughing...clueless. Turned out the 'deal' the laywer made was a standard deal they had on a pre-printed form for anyone who walked in court with no representation. I finally got a call back at 7pm, very defensive, refused any refund (I didn't even ask for one), said court clerks in Galveston Precinct 2 were liars and that what they told me was bull sh*t. Lesson learned go yourself figure out the offer by the court before buying third rate representation. Overall this is a cheap price to pay to learn which law firm to avoid on any future matters for myself or any family or friends. You were WARNED....STAY AWAY... read more

I'd give this guy negative stars if I could.... could not get a 10 mile over the limit ticket dismissed.... charged me $175 to do something I could of done thru the mail since day 1. Wow! What a great service! My son got a traffic ticket. The clocked speed made him ineligible for defensive driving. I hired Markowitz Law Firm to see if we could get it reduced so my son could take defensive driving or otherwise keep it off his record. He went to court today and the case was DISMISSED!! I hired Markowitz law firm at a higher price than all of the letters from other law firms that I got in the mail, to defend my speeding ticket. Got a jury trial in 3 weeks. Showed up for court at 8AM at City of Houston, 50-60 people in courtroom, 1/2 had attorneys 1/2 did not. As I waited for 2 1/2 hours and all of the people without attorneys and most of the people with attorneys got their cases dismissed, I begin to think I have hired the wrong attorney..... Then I was told to hold on, they were working on something, probation???, No.... The Markowitz Attorney found a flaw in my ticket and was able to get it dismissed with Prejudice, which means they cannot refile this case. You get what you pay for... Hire Markowitz.... read more

They're a bit pricey ($150), but my case was dismissed within the first 6 minutes of court being in session on an especially crowded day. I was ticket for an accident I got into even though the other driver was negligent. I'm very happy with the outcome. I would definitely use them again. No court fees and no deferred adjunction! Communication SUCKS! I have a friend who has a case with Eutsler Law Firm and they said they get lots of notifications and reminders. Life happens and people forget so a friendly reminder wouldn't hurt but this firm does NOT do that. I'm expected to just remember everything. When I went to court I din't see Markowitz himself, I didn't know to be looking for someone else. When I called and asked about who I should be looking for I was told "oh someone is there just go sit back down and wait to hear your name". I should have went with another firm and definitely will in the future. read more

I have used Scott for many years and have always been very pleased with the results. I would have done better doing this myself. I paid him too much and ended up paying for the ticket. My attorney sat at the front table and joked about the tickets he was having to represent. One being mine. This shows me they are unprofessional and really didn't care about the end result. I watched Citizen Law firm handle everything provisionally. I found out about Citizen Law Firm too late. They were 1/3 the cost of this so call Lawyer. read more

Wasn't worth it at all. Did everything I could've done on my own had I known would've never actually tried to get an attorney. Prosecutor actually talk to you and gives you there options of what they'll give you attorney didn't do anything felt like he was just a yes. Man oh and the bargaining power they speak of in negotiation of talks of courts Court cost is B/S. They have mandated cost appointed by what time of violation you have. Go to court but without an attorney unless you want to go to trail. Oh and fyi there's one trail a day and every new trail dealing with an accident has president over yours so imagine the wait for your simple traffic ticket case. read more

I am not basing my review upon the outcome of my case but rather the service I received. I hired Markowitz for a speeding ticket. I knew going into it that there was a chance that it would get thrown out and there was a chance it would not so that was not a concern of mine. If it happened then I was good with it but I knew my odds. When I arrived to court on May 25th the bailiff called my name, I responded letting him know I was present and who my law firm was. After about 2 hours i became worried because 60% of the people waiting either had been dismissed or talked to their lawyers. I had done neither. There was a lawyer there that said he was with both Kubosh and Markowitz, that had been in and out of the courtroom twice already, yet had never talked to me. He was a heavy guy with wavy salt and pepper hair, kind of tall who's name I never got so I am going to call him Lawyer 1. After the third time that Lawyer 1 entered and had not called me to the front, I sat by the door to get his attention as he walked by. I said "excuse me sir" and he looked at me and said "Hold on buddy I'll be right back." Ok fine i have his attention now and he'll remember me when he gets back. Or so I thought. That "I'll be right back" didn't happen for over an hour and a half. So finally i got worried and asked the baliff if i was in the right court. Even though he called my name I wanted to be reassured I was doing everything right. I hadnt been in a courtroom for a ticket in at least 10 years. The bailiff asked for my name and he affirmed i was in the right court. Then the bailiff asked if i had talked to my lawyer to which I said I had not. He told me what I should do is step outside and call the law firm and tell them that I had not talked to my lawyer and they would send someone to talk to me. As i was calling, the bailiff points out Mr. Kubosh to me and says that's one of your lawyers right there. As I was approaching Mr. Kubosh, there was another client talking to him just as i was trying to get his attention. Then all of a sudden Lawyer 1 from before appears out of another court and he and the client that was talking to Mr. Kubosh started arguing. Seems the client was not happy about the lack of service that he was getting from Laywer 1 and they starting going back and forth with the only thing I remember is the other client telling Lawyer 1 "I am your client, I hired you, you work for me." While the client was totally out of line with the yelling and the "jerkiness" of his comment, he was completely right nonetheless. Lawyer one from before is the worst. Once the argument was over, the client and Mr. Kubosh went into the courtroom and Lawyer 1 went back where he came from, but on his way I tried to use this moment to get his attention yet again so I can talk to him. Once again I got " Hold on Buddy, I need to go cool off." At this point I am dumbfounded. I hired a lawyer that told me that he was going to have to cool off from an argument that happened with another client before he can talk to me? At this point I thought I was in the twilight zone and surely he couldn't be serious. Almost two hours later he showed me that he was very serious by never returning to the court room to come talk to me. Ultimately I ended up getting probation from what I felt was due to a lack of representation. Mr. Kubosh tried to help me out as much as he could after I had been there several hours but at that point I was going to either get probation or my court date was going to get reset. At that point I decided to pay and move on with my life. The only thing that upset me was the fact that I paid money for this. Again I am not saying that I paid my money to the Markowitz Law firm with promises that my case would get thrown out, what I thought I purchased was legal representation that I don't feel I got. I have not had a ticket in over ten years but that doesn't mean that I have not ever had one. I know how this works and me paying for probation and having it fall off of my record is something that I can accomplish on my own. Coming back for another day, which I understand is out of the law firms hands, and burning a day off of work to deal with this again is not worth it when there is a 50/50 chance that I am going to get someone like Lawyer 1 to represent me. If he even feels like it that day. I called the Markowitz law firm the same day and talked to the receptionist about what happened and she was shocked. She told me that Mr. Markowitz would be calling me himself to talk about this because that was really bad and she apologized for Lawyer 1's actions. She was Nice. Mr. Kubosh was nice and if I had to do it all over again I wish I could have worked with him from the jump. I probably would have had a much better experience whether it got thrown out or not. At least it wouldn't have left me to the point of not recommending them to anyone. And again that's just due to the 50/50 chance that you will either get someone to talk to you like read more

It's always hard to trust what you read on websites, but Scott proved this was to the contrary. This was my first ticket, and a multiple citation too! After days of research, you realize that there are only a handful of traffic lawyers that pop up, and Markowitz is consistently in the first page of Yelp! Houston, Avvo and KHOU (yes, people, Scott has provided an interview). I show up at his Richmond Ave office, just to 'verify authenticity', and his assistant promptly greets me, quickly allays my fears about the citation. After providing my details, she assures me that Scott will get the court date reset and send to me the new court date. True to words, this came in an email first 5 days later and followed up with a hardcopy letter after that, true professional. 6 days before my court date, you'll get a friendly phone call reminding you about court, where to park, what to dress and what to do on that day. This calms the nerves. On the day itself, Scott's team of lawyers (one of them) will call out your name to confirm representation. They are very businesslike and professional, very transparent about their recommendations and our options as a client. I was out of there in 2.5 hrs, dismissal in hand - that, to me is the experience you want as a client. Sometimes, you need a little nudge in the right direction, just don't attempt to do it without Scott's advice. read more

Extremely upset and disappointed with this lawfirm, its downright malpractice. I hired them for my daughters case and it was just a horrible experience, we recieved no communication from their end and I honestly felt like we did not even have a lawyer. I wish i had read the other reviews here before wasting my money because it seems that not showing up to your courtdate is a trend for them. Never again. read more

I definitely do not recommend these guys. To sum it up they are useless and are of no help at all. After consulting with them about my traffic ticket I agreed to they're offer and paid $200 I was being reassured I would not spend another dime besides the court fees on the day of court. Well on the day of court I arrive and looked to be a pretty quick one which it was as there were only about 12 of us but we were all represented by one guy besides noticing we all pretty much had gotten different attorneys. Well I spoke with a guy sitting next to me and questioned him about his experience with his attorney which he tells me he paid much less then I did for the same exact case and we both got the same results. I paid $200 to the prosecutor which was absurd after being told by the office staff I wouldn't pay much just for the court fees only. I suggest to make sure you check your options and compare as many to get the best bang for your buck but I personally don't recommend this firm. read more
