I've taken my car to them multiple times and each issue I had them fix, I have had to take to someone else to get it fixed again. I've been lied to about parts being in Tucson and never getting a callback after weeks of waiting. Tucson is an hour away so I can't imagine it taking that long to get to Sierra Vista. They'll charge you full price for work that they don't finish. I've had to file disputes with my bank just to get my money back for work they never finished. I rather pay a little more to a different mechanic and get my issue fixed the first time around. read more

I live in the san diego area and was in sierra vista looking for possible places to relocate. We had been experiencing brake squeal from my front brakes and grinding from my rear brakes at the latter part of our trip. I had purchased the 2007 corolla from a dealer in el cajon the week before after I personally inspected the vehicle so i knew it had new front pads and ok rear shoes. To be safe i knew they had to be inspected before the trip back and being so far from home and my normal circle of mechanic friends and relatives ( not to mention tools and a loaner lift ) I took a chance with mark's auto repair due to there great reviews. I was glad i did. Not only was mark able to get me in almost immediately but he inspected (found to be filthy ) then cleaned and lubed my front and rear brakes for less than the cost of inspection ( .35 hr shop time ish ) at most other shops i have been to. I have been wrenching on my own stuff as a teenager thru early twenties and have worked as an automotive service writer/ advisor and general manager at a very busy shop in my hometown thru my early fifties . I was honestly expecting for this unknown (to me) shop to try and unnecessarily upsell me a new set of shoes and drums . I was pleasantly surprised to find an honest ,old school, knowledgeable and upstanding mechanic right out of google on the first try in a town where i know no one. I've tried Mark's Auto recently. I had my Nissan Versa 2010 rear break shoes replaced which costed me $191.00. Before that I checked with Petit Auto that quoted me more than $308.00, which is more than $100.00 difference for the same job. This is a huge difference for same brake job between the two in the same town. Further, Mark's Auto has been well known for its good repair work at low price by local residents. Crossing the desert, and a lot of miles before that, was just too much for my 2002 Honda. Took it to Mark's on Friday morning August 7, and he was really forthright about costs and what I could and couldn't expect from attempted repair. I ended up buying a used car he that he had on his lot. Finally, an honest mechanic! I am so happy with Mark of Mark's Auto Repair. At first I went to a brake shop that has been doing my lubes for an estimate on fixing my windshield wipers that STOPPED. They charged me $71.20 to look at it and quoted me a very high price to fix it. I then went to Mark who did not charge me to diagnose the problem, gave me a fair quote to fix it and when he did fix it, the bill was LOWER than he QUOTED and one-half the quote from the first place I took it to. Amazing person. I moved to Sierra Vista when I was 19 and knew nobody there. When my car broke down I took it to him just because his shop was right down the road from me.
