Late night hangover prevention going on here. No alcohol sold here. Came by at 2:45am and it was packed. We sat in the corner booth and Bambi served us. We had the Mark's Sloppy Plate special for $10.99. You can customize it, so we went with one hotdog and one cheeseburger with macaroni salad and home fries. We shared the plate and still didn't finish it all. It could've used more flavor. The locals put ketchup on it, so we followed suit and added hot sauce. Service was prompt. The clientele is a little scary, great for people watching though. Nothing really healthy on the menu. Just a late night drunk's haven for hangover food.

Well, we are having Covid19 theme dinners to break the home bound monotony. Our Brooklyn daughter and her husband and son moved in almost 3 weeks ago. I am blessed to have them here and safe. Marks provided a fun dinner for all. There was plenty of tasty food for everyone and everyone had something different. No kitchen duty tonight. Thanks Marks.

Flavor and value can't be beat!! The hot sauce on the sloppy plates is straight up magical, and definitely the best in rochester. The staff works so hard to make sure everyone is satisfied! I haven't lived in rochester for almost 20 years, but still try to make it back every summer for a plate.

Best garbage plates in the world and I'll die on that hill. Sat down here with a couple friends mid-week. They acted surprised people wanted to dine in, but were appreciative of our business. Dozens and dozens of takeout orders were flying out the door, but we were the only dine-in ticket. The place was super clean. Every table and booth was spotless. Floor was clean. There wasn't any of that typical greasy grime you'd expect in a diner that's been around this long. The inside is dated but clean. The waitress and manager were very attentive and friendly. Food came fast, was hot, and delicious. Fries crispy, Mac salad flavorful and not overly mayonnaiseey, the burgers dogs and sauce were good as expected. Like I said. Best plates in Rochester and I'll die on that hill. This place hasn't changed in decades, and that's a good thing. One member of our party got a grilled Reuben with home fries too and I was a little nervous, but when it came out it looked bomb. Corned beef thick and fresh. She enjoyed it. Love this spot. Please stay open forever.

My fiancee and I stopped in Rochester while on a road trip and knew we had to get garbage plates while in town. A good friend of mine suggested Mark's Texas Hots. I was between Mark's and Dogtown and went with Mark's since they were open later. First of all, the waitress was a really sweet girl who gave us a lot of pointers and helped us along in ordering the plates. My fiancee got home fries, mac salad, one burger, and a white hot. I got french fries, mac salad, one burger, and a red hot. We ended up switching hot dogs since she didn't like the white hot. The burger was cooked perfectly and the meat sauce was great. The mac salad was PERFECT - not too sweet and a really nice compliment to the rest of the plate. Both the french fries and home fries were good, but I preferred the crispiness of the french fries. For the amount of food you get, the price is unbeatable. I'd definitely go here again.

It was Sunday and I wanted a garbage plate. The original Tahou's was closed so I checked the web for the top 10 garbage plate spots in Rochester. Mark's came up third on the list and they are open 24/7. I have had recreations elsewhere and have been disappointed. The original is always the best IMO but I needed a plate stat. Mark's is essentially a full service diner. I saw lots of people enjoying breakfast but you know what I was looking for. The verdict? This garbage plate is fantastic! They use yellow mustard and the original uses brown which I prefer. They used red skin potatoes for the home fries and they were outstanding. Delicious mac salad and perfectly cooked cheeseburgers. In many ways (gasp) this plate is better than the original. It also came with a big hunk of Italian bread that I did not feel like eating. 24/7 and using their own techniques the Mark's plate should definitely be on your garbage plate radar!

This diner is uber-sketchy, but it has the best garbage-- erm... sloppy plates in town.

Marks has become the best diner in the area. Just don't go there after 1am as it is packed and considerably sketchy.

Good drunk food. Gets a little crazy during bar hours. Food is pretty good and not super expensive.

Last night I had my car towed while eating there. No warning. Was parked in the back lot. Left after eating and my car was gone.

Love the plates. Could use more hot sauce though. Not the best furnishings, but great prices.

It looked good and close to where my customers work place was. It turned out to be a good choice. I called for a lunch reservation but turned out it wasn't needed. There were a few tables filled but there was plenty of room. The tables were nice as we got a high top that reminded me of a bowling lane it was kinda cool. The chairs were mismatched on purpose and I loved it. They had a sitting area with a big soft looking couch. The menu was a good size and I liked a bunch of options. I went with the rice bowl with portobello. It was delicious. It had picked vegetables, rice, pico and some sort of wasabi drizzle. I would have eaten another. We got an app that was pita, veggies and pita. The hummus was good and the pesto was very good the only down side is it could have had more pita as there was a lot of pesto hummus and roasted red pepper dip left. Staff was quick and chef was on top of her game I would suggest for anyone that is in the area. Stop in give it a try. I will come back and try some other meals. The burgers that came out looked amazing as they went by

It was very nice; we were able to have a decent conversation with dinner and that made for a wonderful experience. The service was prompt but unobtrusive. Portions are sized well but not huge. I did see some people taking home some white boxes. We shared our starter, entrée and dessert and finished it all. We started with Smoked Trout Dip served with house made potato chips. The ratio of chips to dip looked off but it was perfect. Personally, I thought the dip was under seasoned and light on the trout. The Chef came to our table to discuss his cuisine and we both left with our own opinions intact. The Featured - Friday Fish was the best Bouillabaisse I have tasted in years. It was the Friday Special and it was indeed special. The Bourbon Apple Crisp was to die for. If I had known, it was so good we would have ordered two portions instead of splitting one. The parking lot on the property is very small, but street parking is available.
