I am responding to your request to contact you…read more If you wish for me to delete or change my review let me tell you that the only thing that I would do is edit it for errors otherwise I stand by my statement. My review is strictly of the doctor, detailing my experience with Ms Hollowell, (I will only address her as Ms not Dr because I do not deem her worthy of that distinction) what it is not is a review of your hospital or the practice where she now is a member.  My goal in writing the review is to inform potential patients of my experience and the personal consequences of my unfortunate medical encounter with Ms. Hollowell.  I am going to note that when I asked the hospital to recommend which doctor to see from the practice while scheduling my colonoscopy Ms. Hollowell was not it, she was however the one with the first available appointment. I now ask myself, was that my misfortune or my mistake? My second goal in writing the review is to inform the hospital and the practice of the potential liability that they may face by giving her surgical rights or employment within their practice.  I cannot change history, and undo what has happened to me, but I can inform others that there can be dire outcomes that they should be aware of by choosing Ms Hollowell as their surgeon. Everything I have stated in my review is what I experienced, what I have been informed by medical professionals that specialize in gastric surgery, and by information that was shared with me although I cannot personally verify others accounts for accuracy, I can only repeat it .  Again, this is simply a review of my experience. This has affected my DAILY life, my physical and mental health and been a financial burden that I cannot afford.  My motivation is so that no one else will have to experience what I have. No one else will wake up in the night with severe pain, no one else will have to be a prisoner of their home, no one else will have to fear driving a long distance, or getting on an airplane, or being anywhere that there is not a restroom readily accessible, no one else will get immediately sick from eating the smallest portion of food, no one else should be told that they now face a shortened lifespan, are more susceptible to certain cancers and illnesses, no one else will have to be frustrated, depressed, sad or angry that this was the outcome of a "routine procedure" meant for the betterment of their health not the demise of it.  And that none of the countless medical specialists that I have seen should feel the need to profusely apologize to me for something that they did not do. If sharing my story will help even one person avoid this outcome, then I have accomplished the bare minimum of the control that I have over this situation, with the sincere hope that it does not happen to them. Information is always the most powerful tool in one's personal tool box.   With all this said, yes you may reach out to me if you see any value in doing so.

I have no reason to ever go to another hospital for help. I am always treated with respect and patience, no matter how horrible or emotional I feel. The nursing staff is really very good, as are the doctors. The rooms are all private which is a big plus for me. Housekeeping is there everyday to not only keep things clean, but to see if anything is needed from them. The staff is required to come to your room every hour to check on you, even when you haven't asked for anything. On top of all this, there is manager on each floor that is visits everyday. They work really hard to ensure their patients are comfortable and have everything they need. And there are a few things on their food menu that are actually very good ... Omlettes made to order for breakfast and yummy potroast. In addition to the pneumonias, I also had stomach cancer and lost my entire stomach and a few other organs I would have preferred keeping. After all I have been through, having a hospital like has meant so much to me. I can't change the sickness, but at least I know I can go somewhere to be taken care if so wonderfully. They both have been very knowledgeable and helpful in me trying to rebuild muscles in both my shoulders to hopefully avoid two surgeries I might require. I feel that both my therapists are doing a great job on my behalf to help me reach my goals. It's refreshing to feel so completely comfortable going into a clean and well staffed physical rehabilitation facility as I've suffered with many high risk health conditions that have left my immune system compromised so it's vital to my health that they are strictly the best and cleanest facility that I can feel comfortable going to for my physical therapy. My recent visit to Henry Ford River District Emergency Room was, without a doubt, the most…read moredehumanizing and distressing medical experience of my life. I am a single mother of four young children, with a husband who passed away almost two years ago. My family lives hours away, making emergency medical visits incredibly difficult to coordinate, so when I come to the ER, it's because I genuinely need help and answers. For the past year, I've been struggling with significant, unexplained weight loss (over 80 pounds). My PCP has run blood work and a CT scan of my chest down, but we still have no answers. Approximately six months ago, I started experiencing debilitating nerve pain radiating from my arms into my fingers, primarily at night or when lying down. This pain would wake me up repeatedly, forcing me to get up and try to alleviate it. The culmination of these concerns, especially the new onset of a lump at the base of my skull that I discovered recently, prompted my mother to travel across the state to care for my children so I could seek emergency care. I was terrified. This lump, coupled with the severe nerve pain, jitteriness, headaches, agitation, and continued weight loss, was a major alarm for both myself and my family. My experience in the ER was nothing short of an absolute nightmare. The doctor I saw was beyond rude; he was demeaning and dismissive. He made me feel like I was a complete burden, a piece of trash. He told me the lump wasn't "anything to worry about" and that I needed to "manage my expectations." He insisted the severe nerve pain had "nothing to do with" the growth on my head and repeatedly stated there was "nothing he could do, or would do." Multiple times when I was attempting to explain my symptoms, he cuttingly asked, "Well, what do you want me to do about it?!" His continuous belittling remarks, such as "It's not worth my time" and "Why are you all of a sudden coming to ER for this?", were incredibly painful and completely inappropriate. Does it matter why I'm there at that time, or day, why I "waited" to come in? What should matter is that I am a patient seeking help, scared and panicking over a new, significant lump on my head that wasn't there a month ago. When I tried to show him my CT scan results from my Athena Health app on my phone, he completely ignored me, even as I held out my phone for him to see. I was left crying, feeling utterly unheard, neglected, and like I was just a number, not worthy of any care whatsoever. The only bright spot in this horrific experience was the kind woman working at registration at the front desk. She at least acted like a human being. I am truly, truly disgusted by the doctor and nurse (who admitted me) at Henry Ford River District Emergency Room. Their lack of empathy, professionalism, and basic human decency is appalling. No one should ever be made to feel so dismissed and neglected, especially when seeking urgent medical attention. I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this emergency room if possible.

The doctor came in and after reviewing my chart history, she told me what her plans were and she did just that. I had a series of tests ran and then I was provided my results. I was in there a total of 5 hours. Would've been a shorter amount of time, but the last 1.5 hours was me just sitting waiting to be discharged. I felt that they took great care of me while I was there. I hope I never have to return, but if I do, I would be comfortable returning here.
