I scheduled an appointment two weeks ago. I had to take 4 hours off to come to my dental appointment and to put it in perspective my wage for 4 hours is $160. First off, I did not receive an appointment reminder. I looked on the website an hour and a half before my appointment time to confirm my own appointment because the website lists they are closed on Friday's. Receptionist states they were open and I let her know that the website says differently. Secondly, I arrive at the dentist office "on time." Finally, Surprise. Surprise. Door locked. I called the office --once again -- because I did not realize there are two locations in Waipahu. I like the archways in the office and I was given a brief tour when I came in, which I liked because knowing my surroundings helps put me at ease. They go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable, they had a comfort menu with everything from blankets to a t.v. screen with Netflix. But she offers to prescribe antibiotics which made me happy bc I'm thinking it's probably an infection. A few hours later, she emails me again and apologizes for the delay in responding - she's in JAPAN!! I'm feeling so, so bad for bothering my favorite dentist while she's on vacay!!! My dentist is Dr. Chadron Araki. Dr. Araki is such a gentle Doctor and he will talk to you throughout the process of getting numb or even doing a procedure on your teeth. When I took out my wisdoms, the process was so quick that it only took 15 mins. To take out all 4 of my wisdoms, I feel like waiting for the numbing to kick in was the longest part of the procedure. Every time I go here, they always take care of their patients and I feel like that is so important being because a lot of people don't like going to the dentist.

I sat down on the chair, they put the napkin around my neck and he came and asked me what was wrong, I told him my situation. I told him I just wanted him to look at it. He put his mirror in for one second and didnt even look at my gums and said I need a full exam which included xrays. I told him I would come back for thise but just wanted him to look at my gums. He didnt ask me any questions and just shut me off and charged me for the appointment! He could've been nicer. He could've asked, are there any changes to my routines, changes in toothpastes. These are things that cause swollen gums. NO! Nothing! Just come back for full exam and pay for this one! I take care of my teeth pretty well. I know it couldve been someone new I used. I just needed him to tell me all the causes of swollen gums.
