Today was my first visit to Dr. Jennifer's office for a dental cleaning, and I had an excellent experience. From the receptionist to the dental staff and Dr. Jennifer herself, everyone was welcoming, friendly, professional, and caring. This was one of the best dental experiences I have ever had. By going over the review from this dental clinic. It looks like I am not the first patient that incident had occurred. First of, I would like to say that Dr. Jennifer Sasada is the sweetest and caring Dentist and I would continue to see her again even though what happened was very wrong and as I mentioned this is not the first time it happened by reading the reviews. It's the FRONT DESK and she's is also the BILLER by the name CAROL. On the day of my appointment she stated that I had full balance from couple months ago of over $200. I was surprised as I have dual coverage. Long story short, she had made a duplicate insurance request and overcharge me. When I found out that she had overcharged me, then right away she said oh you have another balance from your cleaning, which I knew she was lying, because she would have mentioned it a long time ago. I asked for her last name, because I was ready to report her. She wouldn't give me her last name and then said oh I just check your file and you don't have any balance. I say this again, Dr. Jennifer Sasada and the back staff are the sweetest and caring people, but you just have to watch out for CAROL at the front desk and biller. read more

I've been going to Dr. Sasada for my dental cleaning for years now! Dr. Sasada and her staff are top notch and very professional. They take pride in their workmanship and their integrity is what keeps patients coming back. I've been recommending Dr. Sasasa's office to my family and friends and the feedback I get from those who end up going to her office as well are positive feedback. Their office is located in the newer buildings in the Waikele Center. There are ample of parking in the vicinity so you won't have a problem finding parking. They are on the second level of the two story building, which has elevators. Their office is very nice and clean and they waiting area has a tv and magazines for their patients who are waiting to be seen or if your are waiting for a family member to finish up their dental services. Overall, my experience here has been terrific. The front desk staff are so friend and nice. They do call ahead to remind you that you have an appointment coming up. They also now send text messages to you cell phone where you are able to send a text back confirm. I've had two dental hygienist clean my teeth now and they both were very friendly and nice. They both are thorough and both takes their time making sure that your teeth are clean. Dr. Sasada is one of the best. She's really friendly, yet when it comes to making your smile the best it can be, she gets the job done! I haven't had any cavities while going to Dr. Sasada, but she has fixed multiple of my old silver filings. Was quoted for having a cavity here and when I went to another dentist for consultation they said I had no cavities! Many things made me stop coming. The last time I went they did not clarify the price for me before getting my work done. As someone that didn't have insurance at the time, they did not consider to tell me anything for the price of each service. It felt like an unpleasant surprise after receiving the bill. Dr. Sasada has removed my fear of the dentist. I unfortunately was born with bad teeth. No matter the care I took, I always had cavities. I also had bad luck in the offices that I visited. As a child, I would hear "oops" from the dentist, it hurt like heck, and I couldn't stand the smell of his aftershave. Lol! He would start his drilling and I could always feel it. As an adult, the dentist I began to see had a hygienist who was so rough. She would always ask me questions while working on me. Kinda hard to have a conversation with your mouth being worked on????! Yesterday, I had a cracked tooth. Dr. Sasada's staff squeezed me in! I told her of my fear. She was very compassionate and considerate. She mad no judgement. I can say, that she has greatly alleviated my fear! Her office was so bright and welcoming and her staff is great, too! First time visiting Dr. Sasada and her staff was off to a phenomenal start! I haven't been able to find a dentist in my new insurance network for about a year, but when I saw Dr. Sasada and read the reviews, I knew I had to give her a try--I was not disappointed. Staff was warm and friendly, greeting me as they entered her office for an early 8am appointment. The dental hygenist, Janelle(?), was great and explained everything to me every step of the way. When it came to proper brushing techniques and maintenance, she did not make me feel guilty for some improper maintenance, and I greatly appreciated this language. We're a military family and I despise the process of finding a new dentist in a new duty station. I immediately went onto Yelp to help me out with this process. Dr. Sasada had good reviews and I felt like it would be a good match for me. I called and they got me in for an appointment the following week! Unlike another place, they could see me the following month. I appreciated the call before my appointment as a friendly reminder. They accept Tricare so that is a PLUS. I was welcomed immediately and they already had my name and papers ready for me to fill out. I didn't grabbed the two ladies at the front desk who were helping me but they were very friendly! The waiting room was clean with enough seating. Television and magazines are available to patients. I was seen not even 5 minutes after I arrived and taken to get my teeth X-ray. The rooms where nice and clean with top of the line equipment. The didn't get the girls name who took the X-ray but she was also very polite and explained the whole process to me. Next was my teeth cleaning and Jared was fantastic. I was able to get his name since he was the only one who told me his name. He was very nice and made small talk with me. I enjoyed that since its nice to break the ice when someone is going to be cleaning your mouth. He made sure that I was comfortable and explained exactly what he was doing. He even answered any questions I had. After the cleaning I met Dr. Sasada and she rechecked my teeth. She was polite and thoroughly answered all of my questions. I appreciate when someone takes the time to genuinely listen and answer my questions. She made it easy for me to understand without all of the medical talk. I even left with a goodie bag. Toothbrush, toothpaste, floss and mouthwash. Overall, I was beyond pleased with my experience and I actually look forward to my appointment with Dr. Sasada and her staff. read more

Some years ago I got a root canal from her. Recently I had to go to a endodontist for pain. They took an CT scan and a 3D scan. They found that the root canal was incomplete. It was not filled all the way through the root. Also there was an infection. The endodontist commented on the poor workmanship. Now I'm spending hundreds to have it redone by a specialist. I mentioned to the endodontist that she let her assistants fill it in and that one was using her bare hand to kneed the fill compound. He couldn't believe it. read more

Dr. Sasada and her staff have always paid special attention to their patient's comfort and cleanliness which was always appreciated. Recently left the military and was in need of a dentist. Checked here on Yelp and decided Dr. Sasada had great reviews. I called the office and her secretary was able to schedule me within a day since I had pain from one tooth. It was a quick and pleasant conversation. The office is kinda small but clean and the front desk greets you by name! My appt was quick and they took an x-ray and I was able to schedule an appt for my cleaning. Fast forward to today... went in for my cleaning a little nervous since it's been awhile and I dread the way some techs floss so rough. However Dr. Sasada wasn't rough at all and she literally brightened my smile! Best cleaning I've ever had. read more

In searching for a new dentist, I wanted one convienently located near home. This place was it. It's in Waikele Professional Center - clean, newer, and not busy (early weekday mornings). I've never had an issue with Dr. Sasada and her staff with regard to appointment setting and my actual appointments until recently. A couple months ago, I had two oral surgeries done a week apart of each other as part of the procedure for orthodontic care. It was a painful experience, but expected. I was told to they would call in a prescription to my pharmacy of Tylenol with codeine for pain. Great, I thought. However, when I asked if I could get a prescription of antibiotics, I was baffled as to why Dr. Sasada said I didn't need it. "That's for infection", she said. Wait a minute, the whole reason I'm asking is so I don't get an infection! A few weeks later, I was contact by the receptionist to see if I could move my cleaning appointment to accomdate someone else?! What?????? NO! I set that appointment two months ago for ME! Although, I'm in and out of there for cleanings in 30 minutes and other appointments no longer than an hour, that really left me wondering if I want to keep this dentist even though it's close to home. I have another appointment coming up in a few weeks. I'll make my assessment after that appointment. read more

I had been looking for a new dentist for quite a while and just decided to call Dr. Sasada's office since it is near where I live. The receptionist Peggy was very pleasant when she booked my appointment and even called me later to ask if I wanted to schedule an earlier appointment when one became available. The office is really clean and Peggy was as pleasant in person as she was on the phone. Dr. Sasada and her dental assistant were both really nice and my cleaning went very smoothly. Really, how excited can one get about going to the dentist? You only go a couple times a year, you dread the bad news, and wince at the sound of the scraping. That being said, Dr. Sasada and her staff is extremely friendly and proficient. The dental assistants are all very good at their job and provide thorough, but gentle cleanings. Dr. Sasada takes time to explain things and let you know what she's doing and how it will benefit your oral health. The office is brand new and located in the Waikele Professional Building behind K-Mart. It's clean and state of the art and there's actually a pretty nice view from the patient chair. I don't have kids yet, but I can imagine that this would be a place that wouldn't be nearly as frightful as some of the dentist offices I've visited in the past. We, myself & two children have been patients of Dr. Sasada for years now. This review is way over due. First off, if you live on the leeward side of the island, this is a great location. Her office is in a fairly new building at Waikele shopping center. Ample parking, I have never had an issue with finding a stall right in front of her office. The office itself is very clean, neat waiting area - tv, magazines, and plenty of seating. However, I have not waited longer than five minutes to be seen. Jared, the hygienist, is simply the best!!! He's very personable and attentive to your comfort level. When he cleans your teeth, you can tell that he's been doing his job for several years. I have experienced rough hygienists/techs and I think they are an integral part of the dental visit. I left my previous dentist because of this. They can make or break your visit. Jared does his job extremely well. My kids are not fond of going to the dentist but they don't seem to mind it here. I appreciate that Dr. Sasada is conservative in her dental recommendations. You can tell she's not trying to make a fast buck by advising procedures unless it is crucial. My family is covered by HDS insurance and I haven't had any outrageous payments besides the usual copay. Cheyla, at the front desk is very friendly, and will help you make with all your appointment needs. The waiting time for appointments is very reasonable. I wish getting an appointment with my PCP was that easy. If you're looking for a dentist - I highly recommend this office. You will not be disappointed! read more

I have just moved to Hawaii after my marriage and we were finding a good dentist around Waikele which accepted Tricare and we chanced upon Dr. Sasada. Today has been my second visit and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. They have top of the line equipments and the service staff plus my dentist Nicole has been welcoming. She is pretty thorough with her job and she remembered me even on my second visit! The place is immaculately clean and plenty of chairs in the waiting area with a good supply of magazines and newspapers. But be prepared to wait for an appointment if you don't already have one as they are constantly booked all the time. Its best to make an appointment there after your visit so that they can give you a date on the spot and you might be able to find a suitable timing which would works for you. One thing I really really liked is that they actually send me a card to remind me of my appointment which I had it changed due to personal reason. They impressed me further by calling me a day before my actual appointment as a reminder. How can you beat such service? I hope when I leave this beautiful paradise by year end I can find a dentist as good or even better. I was looking for a dentist close to home for my regular checkup/cleaning as I just moved back home to Oahu from the mainland and needed a new dentist. I went in person to make an appointment and the place is pretty new and clean so I was hopeful. When my appointment day came I didn't see or meet the dentist until after the hygienist took my x-rays and cleaned my teeth. My problem is that the dentist didn't even consult with me or look at my teeth/gums before the cleaning. The dentist looked at me after my (6 month routine cleaning) and tells me my gums look all red and that I might have Gingivitis... HELLO, I just had someone poke and prod at my gums and teeth for a cleaning.. it will be a little red. (note: I floss twice a day and have always had sensitive gums since I was a kid) She then prescribes me a prescription mouth wash to use daily (I researched it, and found out it's a product that they use before oral surgery and not meant for daily use) Then the dentist tells me that this product will likely discolor my teeth and make it gray. REALLY.. who wants gray teeth, I want to keep my white teeth white... not gray. So of course, I didn't fill the prescription. I don't feel like I got the service I was looking for at this dentist. I also feel that she was not knowledgeable enough and making assumptions on my mouth's health status. I will not be returning to this dentist.... So thanks, but no thanks. I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

Being a military spouse and moving all the time, I rely heavily on Yelp to find a slew of different services - denistry included! Dr. Sasada had good reviews and so I decided to give her a shot - she accepts Tricare, was taking new patients, and in a convenient location. So far so good. I was not disappointed. Parking was easy, the office staff was very friendly, the space clean and all the equipment appeared to be new and immaculately kept. Even though I arrived a bit early, I was seen right away, xrays done, and Dr. Sasada came right over to see me and do my cleaning. She's friendly, easy to chat with, and did a fine job with my cleaning. I got the normal lecture about flossing more, but that's to be expected (and really, don't we all need to floss more?). Dr Sasada and her staff are great! Friendly, professional, and helpful. My family and I (ages ranging from 9-38) all saw Dr Sasada for the 4 years we've been stationed in Hawaii. From the get go I felt comfortable and safe in her office. The front desk staff and dental techs were all very friendly and professional upon entering their office to sitting in the chair right up to your departure. Scheduling appointments were easy, and they called you a day ahead of your scheduled appt to remind you of it...a huge help to a busy mom! Yesterday was the first time my husband and I visited that office. The technician Marilyn was very nice. The Hygienist Jared was exceptional, he's very thorough and seemed to be concerned about my gum health, unlike most of the other Hygienist only does the cleaning and don't ask anything about my gum health.
