Get your airbrush here! Used my groupon to get an airbrush tan for $15. I have never done an airbrush, only spray. I was completely comfortable to be naked while she sprayed me. (Do not be nervous or worried because Anna will make you feel like you are just having a chat while you are out having dinner with a friend) It is the next day and my tan has no streaks, is brown, and looks great! No orange tint at all. Also, I really like that Anna asked at the beginning if I had a coupon or not. A lot of businesses advertise on Groupon then treat you below usual customer service level, like you are cheap for using the coupon....Anna does NOT treat you any different than a normal client. ***Update, they called me back as soon as they saw my review on yelp and made and appt after which I was going to delete my review and try the salon out before writing another one but before I could do that they cancelled my appt saying that it was unacceptable that I gave them a bad review. This clearly shows to you that these people only care about their yelp ratings instead of provide a good service to their customers. Never seen such poor attitude from respectable businesses. Been trying to make an appt for 3 days now, nobody ever picks up, replies to your messages or emails. As a bridesmaid in an upcoming wedding I was in desperate need of some color- Anna did not disappoint! I purchased a groupon for a spray tan after reading other great yelp reviews and couldn't be happier with my results. She was very professional and made me feel at ease during the process. It was quick and the next day I didn't have any flaws/spots/imperfections. I was slightly tan to begin with and did the medium color. Multiple people commented that I looked naturally tan (no fake orange BS). I really felt like my skin was glowing and radiant afterwards. I would totally recommend this place and go back. I have to completely disagree with the previous review from "Noodles l." I have had nothing but WONDERFUL service from Regina at MARQ. I live in Houston, but have recently been working mainly in Seattle, WA, and have been so lucky to find Regina and MARQ. I never know when I will be back in Houston, so it is a great relief that Regina does my hair when I am in town. I have been coming to this salon for over a year now, and could not be happier with the end product of how my hair looks EVERY TIME I leave the salon. I originally found MARQ because I am very particular about the products I put in my hair. I am a huge fan of Pureology, as it is an all organic product. When I called to see what they had in stock, a few of the products I needed they did not have, but because their rep was coming in that day, they took my order down, and said they would have it ready for me upon my arrival. I was only their to pick-up the products, but decided to have Regina fix me up, as I had just moved to the Heights and need to find a stylist. I can only give props to Regina at MARQ for her professional demeanor, her willingness to accommodate my sporadic schedule, and even her teaching me how to style my hair. I generally am a pony-tail or straight-down kind of girl, but after losing a bet and getting a haircut, I was beside myself on how to fix my new locks. Regina took extra time to show my how to style my hair, which I was and am so very grateful for the lesson. The personal touches Regina gives to her clients is another reason to visit the salon. Because I am a sporadic visiting client, Regina has always made me feel welcomed in the salon. I simply cannot say enough about her and the way you feel when you leave the salon; perfect! The gals at this salon are fun and flexible. I have gotten a few spray tans and each time have been complimented on my color-even my husband said I had 'gorgeous skin'! I was very pleased with my visit here! Regina was very friendly and knowledgeable. I have had difficulties finding a hair salon that doesn't charge $60+ for a women's trim without a blow dry. I'm pretty low-maintenance and don't even own a blow dryer, so I don't really feel that it's unnecessary to have my hair blow dried after a cut, unless I'm going out for a special event. The cut itself was $35 without any styling or drying, which I felt was an excellent deal and leaves more for a tip to the hairdresser! Regina did an amazing job at getting rid of all my damaged ends and was great at answering any questions I had. She was also great at communicating how much I wanted taken off, which I know can be scary for people with a history of bad haircuts/too much taken off. I purchased the BOGO free spray tan from Anna. I have had spray tans from her before which were great though it was hard getting ahold of her at times. @ my last spray tan appt, I purchased the BOGO free in advance and scheduled an appt in the first week of January to have it done for a wedding I was going to be in. I texted her on Jan 3rd to confirm which day it was for & never heard back. I began calling and txting more, and still never heard back. I called the actual salon, and it kept fwding to her VM which eventually became full. I kept texting, and her phone was and is not off because the texts are being delivered. I drove to the salon and both times it has been closed during otherwise open hours, but not empty. I never leave yelp reviews but this has been a game changer for me. I just want my $ back. Marq Salon may not be open every day 8-5 but they do have some outstanding Staff. Everyone was friendly and made me feel very comfortable. I am a Florida girl who loves the ocean, sand, and all water sports. I also love that natural golden glow that comes from enjoying tropical life outdoors- the kind of amazing tan that slow builds over time even when wearing sunscreen. I've been in Houston about two years now, and I still get bummed out by how much colder winter can be in Texas. This winter, my distaste for my pale Texas skin led me to buy a Living Social Deal for 3 spray tans at Marq Salon. I have used two of these tans so far, and I was happy with the results both times. The tans are professionally airbrushed by a talented technician, Anna, so that the solution is sprayed evenly and thoroughly on the skin. There wasn't any streaking or spotting, and the color was natural and beautiful. While it wasn't the same tan obtained from, say, surfing or snorkeling every day, the results were as pretty as a spray tan can get. The overall tan was far superior to those achieved by streaky, unnatural spray tan machines. And it was a much safer than tanning bed use. (Just say no to skin cancer, wrinkles, and creepy orange skin!) Moreover, Anna is sweet, professional, and makes you feel at ease while getting sprayed. I'd reccomend Anna to anyone seeking a beautiful, natural looking spray tan. read more

I could not be more disappointed with my experience with Marq Salon. I bought two spray tans (one for me and my fiance at the time) for the week before our honeymoon. After I scheduled an appointment, no one was there when I arrived. I tried calling several times (as well as the manager's personal phone which he had provided) and never received a phone call. For my wedding I wanted to try getting an airbrush tan since the ones from the automated booth can be hit or miss. I went here for a trial run and was generally happy with the service, Anna did miss some spots on my legs but overall it was ok. Therefore I booked again (because of the groupon) to get the airbrush a couple days before my wedding, had an appointment with Anna for both my mom and I to both get tans. I emailed with Anna and confirmed our appointments but when we showed up the salon was not open. I double checked with my email to make sure I didn't mess up but it was Anna that messed up. I tried calling, texting and emailing the numbers and address she gave me at my first appointment saying that she ALWAYS answers and got nothing. This was two days before my wedding and I did not want to get a spray tan the day before because you can't shower and I wanted to have time to get touch ups. Thankfully we were able to get in at another place, this was about 8pm at night by the way. It took Anna until 4pm the next day to finally return my messages and although she was honest and said she messed up and it was totally her fault it doesn't make up for the panic I was in at 8pm at night two days before my wedding not wanting to be a pasty ghost--I'm very pale. She has certainly lost my business and shown that Marq Salon is completely unreliable. read more

What a disappointment from start to finish! First, Regina left a message for me on the day of my appointment letting me know that another client had an emergency so my time was pushed back an hour. Luckily I was free but she didn't ask or apologize for the inconvenience but rather just stated that my time would now be different. Then I called her to let her know that I was having trouble finding my receipt for the Groupby deal that I had purchased and paid for and she told me that she couldn't do my treatment without the receipt (which I completely understood). She suggested that I call Groupby to see if they could forward it to me. In the meantime, I did find my receipt and went to my scheduled appointment. When I walked into the salon and handed her my receipt, she immediately told me that she called Groupby and they told her that I had only paid $169 instead of $189 that was printed on the receipt.....implying that I had altered the printed out receipt which would have been impossible! I told her that it had been purchased so long ago that I couldn't remember what I had paid but here was my proof of purchase. She later said that she could have been mistaken! The Groupby purchased was for the Keratin Straightening Treatment by Coppolla. I've been doing the Keratin Treatments on my hair every 3-4 months for 3 years now and this is the first and only time that it did not work on my hair! From the first time I washed my hair 5 days later, it still was coarse and would frizz if it got wet. She informed me that the fine print stated that it would cost an additional $75 for every extra ounce of product used which I never saw in fine print and was not pleased with. When she was using the flat iron on my hair, I asked her if there was a snag on her iron because I could feel the iron catching on my hair every time she ran it through. In addition before she started, she mentioned that she was going to start out with the iron at a lesser temperature than full strength and i asked her to please use it at least 450 degrees which I knew was required for the treatment, but I'm not sure what temperature she used. Overall, it was a waste of my time and money and a very poor experience. I would never go back to this salon again. I never addressed it with her, but i went back to my original salon 6 weeks later (the treatment should last 3-4 months) and had to have it done again. read more

I purchased a Groupon for airbrush tanning and I only have "glowing" things to say about Marq Salon and Anna (I couldn't resist). It was a great price, convenient location, and easy to make appts by email or text. Anna was incredibly professional and comforting, which was nice because being naked in front of someone is already awkward. This was the first time I've ever had spray tanning and I will definitely be back. There are two color options to choose from, medium and dark. I am Vietnamese and already have slightly tan skin. The medium was subtle and beautiful. I tried the dark the 2nd time and my face seemed slightly orange for just one day but I loved the look on my body. This third time I asked her to go light on my face and it was just right. This is a natural tan that lasted maybe 5-7 days for me and is a quick way to look like you lost some weight! I remember this appt very well this poor client was having a bad day from the start.After I had to re-schedule her first appt for a different day because my dad had an emergency......She called & said she was running late because it never occured to her that she never printed her coupon out for our first appt & had to get on her computer & find her coupon 15mins before her appt time..I told her to try to call Grouby to give them her info ,that they had a list & could tell her how to retrive it. I could call & confirm for her also. I gave her the # & she called ..She was late 4 her 2nd appt time but that was ok" no worries" I told her when she arrived & I apoligized for re-scheduling the first time,we began to proceed with our consultation... I had to re-schedule the 1st time because my dad was in a coma in the ICU, no excuse 4 me I know, but I may have been a little pre-occupied.Sorry again noodle..........I would have explained to you but since you were a new client I did'nt want to burden you with my personal problems.... I wanted to make your Hair appt truely about you & your hair needs, and giving you the best service possible.During our consultation I wanted to explain the process to you because you mentioned your old hairdresser did not use" Keratin by Capolla". It was another Keratin Brazillian product & it did not not get it as straight or as shiney as you liked that's why you purched the Grouby one. The fine print stated the stipulations .I never stated you altered your groupon, I think you may have misunderstood me.so again I Apologize....During our consultation I suggested that perhaps from the texture of your hair that I may need to apply more product... but I could'nt tell until we got started.Then I proceeded to explain to you that this service comes with 2 oz. of Keratin only....I would not know if you needed another oz. until we proceeded with the service.I did'nt want to need the product during the process then chg afterwards! We did need an additional 1/2 oz which I used at no charge for you as an appology for re-scheduling on our first appt.I did not use the Flat Iron @ 450 degrees because it is Highly recommended NOT TOO.....ONLY to use it @ 430 degrees... as pre instructed for the best benifit of your hair which is what I did..As being a proffesional Hairdresser I followed the recommended instructions. After our appt was complete you could not stop looking at your hair & stating how soft & shiney it was,you even had me take pics with your camera ph,before & after. you stated how much you Loved your hair..& how soft & shiney it was... When I followed up with a call 1 week later you told me " how much you loved your hair" that everyone else really loved your hair. I wish you would have told me how you really felt & given me a 2nd chance.....So I apologize if your experience was not my best service forward..My only concern was the well being of your Hair.... :) SORRY Noodle :( read more
