Hidden gem! Never knew this place was here and I lived across the corner from it for years. It's very hidden in the River oaks plaza. It's on the top floor of the parking garage in the Phoenix suites. Amazing Sugarist! I've seen a variety of different estheticians here and they've all been great. I now see Rayven and she's so friendly and gentle. Their online booking platform is easy to use also. I have their membership which saves me $10 a month. It's tucked away but definitely worth stopping by and making it a permanent place to come too for your beauty needs! read more

Sadly, I have to update my review based on my most recent experience with Hello Sugar. As soon as my wax pass is done, I will not be purchasing anymore nor frequenting them again. Since June, I've been coming here and Tamia has been my esthetician (love her downnnnn) so she's always made my experience top notch. She is also fast but diligent so there's never a wait. This time around, I had an appt and had to reschedule which I did online. The online system and not having anyone to speak to can be so arduous that the rescheduled appt I made was in Cypress. I live in River Oaks and was not driving all the way to Cypress. I again, tried to reschedule this appt but in texting back and forth with the young lady, she noted that because I had "multiple rescheduled appts", I'd be charged a $10 non refundable deposit. I let her know I had a wax pass so how and why would a deposit be collected since I've already paid for this service. She seemed so confused and even when she called me, she had no idea the answers to anything. She kept having to place me on hold to ask her manager. How about you just put your manager on the phone. UGH!!!! This went on for almost 25 minutes till she finally said they'll put a $10 hold on my AMEX but after my appointment, it'll come off. She even said she started a refund process already. The interaction with her was so painful and I wish it ended there. My appt was the next day and I got there at 2:18pm (it was for 2:20pm). Would you believe I waited for TWENTY TWO MINUTES before I was seen????? I had to message them asking what was going on. They gave me all this stress the day prior for rescheduling my appt only to be met with such a long wait and no proper communication as to why I was waiting. Then, the wax was one of the WORST I have ever received. I was in pain for the following 24 hours. So as I said before, I won't be returning as a client and for the last remaining passes, I'll make sure to ONLY have Tamia service me. read more

Warning for the girlies! I've been going to hello sugar for almost a year now and had previously reviewed the heights location rating it a 5. Recently my waxologist resigned from that location. She had previously suggested another waxer at this location; Serina. I think that Hello Sugar should do better about alerting clients when their employees are "they". It should be a choice to whether i want prefer a cis woman waxing me. Serina was EXTREMELY heavy handed and not tender to my private area. Usually waxers apply pressure after waxing sensitive areas, all they said each time i would show pain was "good job, sweetie". Nevertheless, i wont be booking with them again. read more

I was very disappointed in the way my reservation was handled up to my appointment. Several text reminders were already overkill. Then, I made it 5 minutes before my appointment, and the hallway was cold. There was no receptionist. It was a very unfriendly atmosphere with a tiny hallway. I tried knocking on the door at my appointment, but they did not answer and kept chatting away as if no one was there. They did not text or call me when my appointment time had passed, and I wasn't given the courtesy to rebook, apologize, or reason with them for wasting my time waiting. Given the unprofessionalism I experienced with the admin side, I am relieved that I did not receive any treatment. The lack of courtesy and professionalism in their service is concerning. I urge you not to come here as it is a scheme and racket to get more clients and overbook on purpose. read more

So I started coming for a wax and learned about the benefits of sugaring and have not looked back!!! My hair barely grows since consistently sugaring - it's sparse and thin. And as a woman of color with curly hair I was prone to ingrowns but not with them. I have also not had one complaint about any of their wax specialists. They are all thorough and very professional. They're books get busy so be sure to book in advance. They primarily communicate through text but are very responsive. I highly recommend!!! read more

Don't bother. I booked an appointment here. Called to let them know I'd be a few minutes late (within the grace period she informed me of). I arrived at the time I shared with them, but couldn't find the building. Conveniently they did not pick up at all from the time of me arriving until I was outside of my grace period. They're not helpful at all. I regret letting them know I'd be late because it seemed oddly convenient that they suddenly couldn't answer any calls. Booking beauty services in Houston is an absolute nightmare. I won't be rebooking with Hello Sugar. read more

I found this place on Instagram and wanted to give it a try since it was a great deal. There was a slight mixup in the beginning regarding the scheduling but it was soon resolved. Had a great experience with Tamara/Tamra (not sure how it's spelled) but she was very personable and it was one of least painful sugar experience I've had. The 3 stars are solely for the brow coloring. I am new to town so shopping for a good eyebrow place. This one had good reviews so I decided to give it a shot. I scheduled a eyebrow shape and tint. Ultimately all I got was a tint..she literally didn't wax my eyebrows. Only used tweezers for a couple of hairs. Which I haven't gotten my brows done in 4 months so I knew they needed it. I went home and spent an hour trying to tweeze all the individual hairs. So definitely not happy with my service as I went for a wax and didn't get that... On the plus side the brow color was a super good match so she gets props for that:) read more

The esthetician was 20minutes late. My appt was scheduled for 9am. I received a text message around 8am confirming the appointment (I assume it was automated); which I responded to and confirmed. I received a call from an unknown number 10min prior to my appt (no message left). I called the number back at 9:07 and it was the esthetician asking if we could meet at 9:10. I agreed and let her know I was already at the salon (I had arrived at 8:50am). She still didn't show up until 9:20. She was nice, the salon room was clean and overall she did a fair job...fair meaning that there was still a few hairs left (Brazilian wax) and a little wax left on my skin. read more

DO NOT GET A MEMBERSHIP!! Even after freezing your membership, you will still be charged monthly! I have not gotten waxed here in months yet they still charge me even after freezing my membership. There is no way to cancel your membership so you are making a lifetime commitment to giving them $52 a month. The waxes are subpar which is why I no longer go here! Impossible to get a response and feels like I've been scammed. read more
