Neighbor got one side of their fence redone from the wind storm. The ground was marked for wires, where to and to not dig, they ended up cutting our fiber (wifi). They of course were sorry but that took our internet out for a day (I work from home). They had everyone out to get a replacement, but now it need to be fully replaced. I can deal with that, we didn't cut it, but the icing was they stomped over two of our plants (completely obliterating) when they came back the next day. They then tried to cover it up, like we wouldn't know they pulled them out. It wasn't even our fence being replaced but we had all the damage/issues. Bummer. read more

Myself and two other neighbors replaced portions of our fence after a wind storm damaged them. I called Marquez after seeing the fence they had completed for another neighbor. When I called, I had to leave a message, but they promptly got back to me that same day and I was able to schedule a quote. I had requested a quote from a different company in 2021 that was for less area and Marquez's quote was still cheaper. We promptly called and got on their schedule. They took 2 days to complete all 3 of our fence sections, removing the existing fence and installing new posts the first day, then installing the rest the next day. Of all the contractors that I have worked with this was by far the easiest. As far as payment to secure our spot, the only options were to mail a check for half the final cost or use Venmo which included a 3% fee. It would have been nice to be able to pay directly with a credit card, but not having that option also helps keep their costs down. read more

We contacted Marquez to replace a large portion of our fence. Keanna reached out to us very quickly and is very easy to schedule estimates and work with - she is very organized and extremely friendly and helpful! We had our appointment scheduled for the quote within a week, and Marcos was great! Asked a ton of questions, offered helpful opinions such as widening our gate openings to make it easier to park the trailers and gave us a quote on the spot. We called Keanna and scheduled the work and at that point they were a month or so out. The crews arrive in waves. The first day I was a little nervous because they weren't here by lunchtime, Keanna reassured me that they were still coming. I was skeptical. But they arrived with 6-8 people and had the old fence torn down and neatly stacked on their truck, the new post holes dug and the posts set within 3 hours. The next day a crew of similar size arrived in the afternoon and had the entire fence, including building the 3 gates, done in an afternoon. The third day two people arrived for our staining. Every single individual that arrived to work at our house was professional, friendly and communicative. I cannot give enough praise to this company and how efficient, friendly and great they are!! Great looking fence that they put in for me. I used them because the neighbor used them so I wanted to match on the other side. I paid them over $5000 and paid them 30 days in advance just so I will get good service and they would see that I don't play games. But in the end, they fought with me on the stain, charged me even though they never told me. I paid promptly each time. They put in a gate that was too low for my sidewalk construction. Now they want to charge me to come back. Their service is terrible. Their communication is horrible. Some companies know when it's their turn. Sometimes it's a builders market and sometimes it's a buyers market. Service should be the same either way. Not these guys. They're busy, so bow to me. It was with more than a little anxiety...that we (myself and 2 neighbors) approached the daunting task of calling for bids and proposals for complete replacement wood fencing of about 200 (board on board) linear feet. Never having had a good...or even honest experience of this nature, I was tasked with representing all three of us. My going in assumption was that fencing companies come and go, and that honesty was one characteriestic that was hard to find. Happily, we came across Marquez Fencing (local to Fremont, Hayward area). My prejudice and generally bad attitude toward ALL fencing contractors as dispelled, erased and replaced by nothing short of GREAT experiences. From the onset, we had favored another company, but experience showed that we were wrong..., and that we were lucky not to have engaged them. Marquez got straight A grades in every phase of the operation...repeat... EVERY phase of the fencing operation. My feeling is that none of the other bidders could have/would have done anything near this good, and I am glad to sing Marquez's praises to the sky. Basically, the proposals were COMPLETE, every phase of the operation was on time, every worker was a long-term employee...and NOT a gang of "HEY, YOU GUYS WANNA BUILD A FENCE, TODAY?" types hanging out at local big box stores. The materials were MORE THAN ADEQUATE, and even upgraded. The workmanship was of the FIRST order...tops. My instructions to the estimator were not followed, and modified without my approval and explanation. I paid 50% down with the expectation that at the completion of the work the other 50% would be paid. That price was changed without notice by over $500.00. I was accused of making statements regarding the job that I did not make. At the very least, a very poor job of following the customers instructions, explaining that the bid I received in writing was not what I had asked for, and at the worst deceptive practices. There was no admission of fault of their behalf or offer of compromise. I am very disappointed in this transaction. read more

We needed a fence replaced but with two dogs and a neighbor with two dogs we needed a company that could work quickly. Marquez Fencing was perfect. Not only were they quick but also they produced a quality fence. It took two days total because the first day they get the concrete ready and let it set. Two days though was extremely reasonable. I called Marquez fencing first along with 3 other companies. Marcos came out to measure 71feet of replacement cedar wood fence, showed me options then mentioned they were 5 weeks out. That took me back but the other companies stated 3-5 weeks as well. It's that time of year apparently. After all the estimates came in I weighed our options & called Marcos. Yep still 5 weeks out. Lol based on my estimate they take 50% down the remaining amount due upon completion. I recently had a fence put in by Marquez. It was in an area that had landscape fabric and rocks. When they dug the holes they made no effort to clean up the dirt. They spread the dirt in the rocks. it would have been very easy to prevent this issue by simply pulling the rock away from the area that they were digging. Now I have to spend hours cleaning it up to prevent weeds from growing. I spent $4400 for a 100 feet of fencing. For that price you would think that they could clean up the mess. I contacted them and they said that the work was acceptable. I'm very disappointed and will not recommend them to my neighbors. read more

80 MPH windstorm in April 2024 blew down 25 year old fencing. Solicited a number of highly rated providers to repair and replace ~170 feet of 6' privacy fencing in high-wind area. Had specific requests (Metal Postmaster posts, 3' deep footings) and Marquez had no issues accommodating. Of all the providers to quote, they were the only ones that delivered the pricing immediately - which means they know their business well. Other providers were less comfortable with my request, tried to sell me on standard products and literally took days to price the job. Marquez was professional from start to finish, did fantastic work and 2-day job left me with a new and improved fence that will withstand the high winds for years to come. I believe the best part of our landscaping is our fence. It's not completely finished yet as we are waiting for a shed to be delivered, but the 99% of what is completed is beautiful and well built. Subject: Shoddy fence work. I would like to inform consumers regarding shoddy workmanship by Marquez Fence. Specifically, my next door neighbors installed fencing and Marquez did shoddy work on a shared corner of that fence. On Thursday, June 9, 2022, Marquez installed fence posts for my next door neighbors in Broomfield, 80020. I share their west side fence. Most of the shared fence line was expertly replaced several years ago after a hail storm, but Marquez built a new small section in the back corner (on 6-10-2022). That NE corner of their back yard includes a fenced off and gated utility easement area which still has a chain link section and other substandard fencing. Marquez partially used the old, existing boards to anchor new fencing! A professional and reputable fence company would have removed and replaced that section of fence, which is only approximately 6-8 ft. wide. Marquez also faced the pickets opposite to the rest of that fence line. On June 9th, I spoke with the Marquez work lead, and he was argumentative. He indicated that he planned to only make the neighbor side cosmetic. His plan was to leave the tacky fence-hack on my side despite telling the homeowner they would remove that. Tony Marquez came to the house today (7-13-2022) and immediately defended his bid and workers. He made no effort to correct the poor workmanship and instead blamed others. In fact, Tony showed up 30 minutes early for the appointment, despite several attempts to reach him about the meeting time. He berated my friend and realtor with expletives - as well as making impolite references about me, and Tony generally behaved in a very disrespectful and unprofessional manner. Please do not use this fencing service, as they are not trustworthy, unbelievably rude, and Marquez Fence lacks professionalism, and quality of service. read more

I would give this company a 20 star rating if they would let me !! I have dealt with alot of contractors over the years being in construction and I can truthfully say that this is one of the most professional, proficient and trustworthy companies I have ever dealt with. I was impressed from everything from the bid to their finished work !! The crew showed up on the first day and completed the entire tearout and dug out and set all of the posts with extreme precision. They even removed some posts after setting them that did not look good. They are extremely meticulous in everything they did. The second day they came out and constructed the entire fence ( we had 2 sides done and 4 gates) with the precision of a very well oiled machine. I have never seen so much cement used in setting posts. Our house will blow away and our fence will still be standing !! The gates are the best constructed and smooth working gates I have ever used !! Marcos who came out and did our bid was awesome since we were splitting the costs with our neighbors on both sides. Marcos took the time to separate everything including individual costs. ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING !! I was not able to be home on the second day for the install but my wife said that the crew came and asked her opinion several times as to what they were doing and what she thought. I am beyond impressed with the quality of work and materials and professionalism of the crew. They will be back next year to complete our back fence. I called about 4-5 companies that had installed nice-looking fences in our vicinity. Only Marquez answered their phone. Marcos came out a few days later and gave an estimate. The crew arrived the day (a couple of months after the estimate was given) they said they would and in two days the work was completed. Clean-up was complete and the fence is sturdy and looks fine. (I am not a great fan of cedar fences, but other types get really expensive.) Aside from doing exactly what they said they would do when they said they would do it, the best feature is the two new gates. The fence looks great. My complaint is that they dumped all dirt and rock from the post holes all around my yard- behind bushes, along rock walls, even on top of cedar mulch. They spread it out and packed it down. It is taking me several hours of tedious and heavy work to clean it all up and haul it off. read more

Originally we were just going to replace the north side as it was much more weathered than the other sides. So glad we decided to replace the whole thing. This entire experience has been very positive. Tony responded to my initial email promptly, came for the estimate when he said he would, and knew his stuff as he answered our questions. We actually caught him before he got back to his car to tell him we wanted to do the whole thing...that's how impressed both my husband and I were with Tony. (I had done some online research on pricing so I knew his estimate was fair and reasonable.) He gave us a date and said it should take 2 days. We were skeptical that such a big project could be done in 2 days. On the arranged date, their crew took down the old fence and posts, hauled them away, and then set in concrete all 60 or so posts. Day 2 a different crew (they specialize) built the entire fence including 2 gates. It looks just wonderful! In case anyone else has this concern...my husband has lots of roses, irises, and other flowers right near the fence and he was concerned about their being damaged with this project. He was so relieved that both days the guys were so careful.
