This place is amazing. I have a Subaru over 100k miles. When you bring your car in for routine services they give you a "report card" kind of assessment that lets you know what's coming down the line and how everything is looking. It was really helpful for me because they give me a heads up about replacements to be aware of in the next year and the costs before I have to scramble to pay for an urgent repair. Also, when they replaced 2 of my brakes, I still heard squealing so I brought the car back and it was actually the other ones they didn't replace but they helped me lube those up to be nice and quiet, no charge! read more

Very poor communication on getting their work done. Asked for three repairs, two items were "inspected" but not completed. Was told they didn't have time, but was not told this (no phone calls, no cautions at time of booking) that they couldn't get either done in the 8 hours it was there. Would not recommend. My son's Subaru has been being worked on by my brother and i for weeks now and we have been fighting it the whole way. Well we have tried to fix everything and there was one noise we couldn't fix. I have had several excellent experiences with Alternative Autoworx, most recently when I could not get my key out of my subaru impreza's ignition. I had to leave my car in the parking lot with a key in the ignition, locking it from the outside using another key and dropping the key in the drop box. The whole situation felt stressful, as it was a Sunday after hours, and I was uncertain about whether my car would be safe overnight with a key so visible from the window. An employee observed this situation and took the initiative to move the car into the garage so it was secure all night. Even though I did not have an appointment, by 9:00am the next day, the issue was diagnosed, a plan to fix it was in place, an email with a work order and a phone call detailing the issue occurred, and I was able to pick up by that afternoon, less than 24 hours after dropping off. Seriously cannot say enough kind words about these guys! My car, for the last 4 years, has had an issue with the secondary air system that has been miserable to diagnose! I've spent thousands at 4 other mechanics, including the dealership, to try to get this thing resolved. It always comes back. Joel and his staff are very knowledgeable of these cars and getting it serviced here saved my significant $$& over Mike Shaw Subaru which is also doing an excellent job. This show is a little hidden at the back of a cul-de-sac but I am glad I found them. This place saved the day. My mom, who is in her 80's, was quoted $1500 dollars and was told her motor would have to be taken apart to fix the rattle that happened when she drove the car. The $1500 didn't cover fixing the car, only taking apart the motor. I called Alternative Autoworx on Monday. They said to bring the car Tuesday. By Tuesday mid morning they told my mom the car was fixed and all that it needed was a valve to be flushed. I can't say enough about how honest and professional this car repair business is. The brush guard on my car came undone on a Tuesday of Thanksgiving week. Alternative was busy with other customers, especially since it was a short holiday week. Because the repair to my car was minor, and didn't require a lot of time to fix, I was able to get my brush guard reattached the same day. The folks could have told me to wait a day or so due to how busy it was, but worked me in and were professional and courteous about it.
