And I am very certain that in years to come when we relive our wedding day, we will still agree that hiring Jolene was the best decision we've made. My husband and I had particular and grand visions on how we wanted our wedding reception to be like. We had specific ideas on the overall look we wanted to achieve for the wedding reception. We were so into planning and outlining all the details of the wedding and that included getting taffeta pintuck table overlays, charger plates, framed table names, etc, that we didn't think much of who was going to execute all our grand ideas for us on the day itself. The restaurant manager had to run the restaurant and and supervise the kitchen on the day itself, and he wasn't able to see to all our specific details on the decor. We were very fortunate to have good friends who offered to help us set up, but at the same time we wanted all of them to enjoy themselves fully and not to have to work on our wedding day. That was when we realized the best thing to do was to hire a Day-of-Coordinator. In came Jolene who was ever so responsive to my emails. We would go back and forth via email up to five times a day, even on a Sunday. That was when I knew that Jolene was the one we should hire. If she could respond to my emails multiple times on a Sunday, I knew that she would be reliably there for us throughout the days leading up to our wedding, and most importantly, on our wedding day itself. We had a meeting with our reception restaurant manager, Jolene, and my husband and I. Jolene brought up questions that we didn't think about and made sure we covered everything. Jolene also took notes at our meeting and very next early morning she sent me a followup email listing the still-to-be completed tasks that my husband and I had to work on leading up to the wedding day. On the wedding day, my husband and I had peace of mind and we were able to enjoy and absorb every moment of our hard work in planning the wedding. We told Jolene how we envisioned specific details to be like on our wedding, and she carried them out for us perfectly. Not only was she there to execute our day-of vision, but she also acted as a point of reference for our bridal party and guests. My dad wanted a podium for his speech and upon arrival he saw that there was no podium. I asked Jolene if she could put one out for us. And the next time I turned around, she was there setting up the podium. Jolene also made sure that there was a smooth transition between events at the reception. After the reception, we received many compliments from our guests on how well organized everything was and my husband and I have Jolene to thank for this. Do yourself a favor and get Jolene as your Day-of-Coordinator. If you're getting married and have put so much hard work into wedding planning like my husband and I did, you should reward yourself by leaving the day-of execution to a true professional like Jolene. She has been there for us from the time we initiated contact and throughout the days leading up to the wedding and most importantly on the wedding day itself. Jolene's help through the entire planning process was simply invaluable -- from design ideas and scheduling event flow, to the minutia that my wife and I didn't even think of. On our wedding day, Jolene showed up early at the venue and made sure that all the "moving parts" where in sync and on time. Throughout the wedding day itself, she kept us on schedule with our timeline and led the day to a resounding success. I deal with a lot of vendors and I knew my same-day request (on a Saturday no less) would probably be met with cranky "not possible in the timeline" responses. Instead, I met Jolene on the other end of the phone. What a warm and positive person! She immediately took on my problems with grace and alacrity. She not only solved the heaters and blanket asks but also added so many details that I would never have thought of. Baskets to hold the blankets. Blankets tied with twine. Additional black napkins in case someone was wearing a dark outfit. Found local wines and beers. Just extremely thoughtful in everything she did. My event was not big or expensive. I'm from out of town so I'm probably not a repeat client (wish I could be!). And I had a very last minute weekend request. And Jolene pulled through 110%. From…read morespending hours truly getting to know us, to having all the right connections, to gracefully navigating a weather pivot on our wedding day, Alex surpassed every expectation. My husband and I knew we wanted to create a unique, beautiful wedding experience that we, our family and friends would cherish and remember. We'd wanted elements of a traditional wedding weekend but one that felt fun and not like every other wedding we'd been to. We also knew that, as a busy engineer and lawyer, we had very little knowledge about what goes into a great wedding and very little time or desire to learn the intricacies of "the perfect wedding." Alex spent hours asking probing and fun questions. He really got to know our visions, desires and quirks. There were so many times when we said things like "we want a dinner the night before, but not a typical rehearsal reception with people standing around at hightop in a bland conference room." He absorbed all of it and turned it into a fabulous weekend. Alex's encyclopedic knowledge about James and Rebecca was invaluable when my work got super crazy a few months before the wedding. When I told Alex that I could do big decisions, but the little ones, like choosing ribbon color or envelopes for invitations, were hurting my brain, Alex stepped in and planned everything based on what he knew about us. Alex found us a breathtaking space in the Penrose Room at the Broadmoor, he coordinated flowers to match my colorful dress, helped pick perfect delicious meal stations that suited a variety of dietary needs, organized the music and stayed on top of the hotel until their 3,000 square foot Parker suite opened up. Alex interviewed and found the best make-up artist, designed hand calligraphed journals for our guests, and created guest bags that with fun and useful things. I could go on and on! Alex's management of every detail meant the weekend ran smoothly and everyone was happy! He created a bowling night for our out-of-town guests and wedding party, worked with the hotel make sure family members with friction had rooms far away from each other, stocked our bride and groom suite with snacks and champagne, moved us us through the precise schedule of photos, ceremony and reception, and organized a fun and delicious good-bye brunch. When a surprisingly rainy June meant our outdoor ceremony space was a mud-field, Alex pivoted and redesigned a large alcove in the reception space to be a cozy ceremony space. So many of our friends and family have said that ours was one of the best weddings they'd ever attended. Ok, ok, maybe they have to say that, but in this case, I think it's probably true! We would recommend Alex to any couple, especially successful professionals who want to create a first class, memorable experience (but might now have the first clue of how do to it).

The inside is definitely very victorian, and though it's not quite my style, it's pretty and nice. There are two rooms upstairs for the bride and groom to get ready in, downstairs has a kitchen for caterers, a buffet hall area, several sitting areas, and a large room for dancing and setting up tables in. There's also a small deck off of the large room where several more tables can be set up. It made a great spot for the wedding, and I think it would be good for any smaller sized gathering (I wouldn't put more than 100 people in it probably).
