I've come to Papa's U-Pick every single summer for probably the last 4-5 years now and highly recommend. They have a big parking area which makes finding a spot easy! If it's crowded, I have seen that their staff helps navigate cars to open spots. I always get the juiciest, sweetest cherries. The trick is to ask staff where the ripest cherries are and then go far into the orchard! The trees at the front are usually picked through but the best cherries are deep in the orchard. They do have rainier trees but they are spread out. Price this year was $4/lb. Fair warning: MDW is always super busy in all of Brentwood, expect a lot of traffic and waiting if you choose to go that weekend. read more

Nice place to pick cherries. The farm is huge and there are cherries for everyone. It has red and also yellow cherries. When we are there, to get a parking took a while. The farm was very busy. It might be also there are 2 big u-pick farm close when we visit and everyone want cherries. It was a pleasant experience. I just felt sad when I saw large quantity of cherries on the ground in the middle of the farm. Looks like someone dropped the bucket and didn't want to pick it up. read more

They offered absolutely no apologies or expressions of regret for their error. The entire interaction was characterized by rudeness and disrespect. I strongly advise against visiting this establishment; everyone should steer clear. read more

Another year with amazing cherries from Papa's U-Pick! Their cherries never disappoint and are so sweet, fresh, and juicy as always! The trees are lower so it's a great place to go if you're shorter (like me) or if you're going with a family with kids. This year's cherries are $4/lb which is slightly cheaper than a few other places that sell for $4.5/lb. They take both cash and card (small processing fee). The staff here are friendly and there's always a local vendor selling honey as well. read more

If you are a fresh cherry fan and are not turned off by driving to Brentwood then please come to Papa's. Now, there are plenty of farms to choose from of course but this has become a favorite for us because they are open early and everyday. We have been here twice already and planning for a third trip. We make jam, BBQ sauce, freeze them for pie during the holidays, make cherry gin, ice cream and just eat lots of them. The corals, lapin's and rainiers are all delicious. On our second trip, the cherries were even bigger than two weeks prior. We are able to come during the week and earlier in the morning before it gets hot which is ideal. $4 per pound this year is a good deal. Been going here for over 10yrs. Went again last weekend. Some kid handing out buckets told my wife he couldn't give one to my 5yr old. My wife told him, that was fine and she can buy/spend less. He handed her two buckets. Went to pay, there was a sign that says cc surcharges were 22% or cash. Guy was rude/short with everyone lining up to pay. I noticed they didn't display the actual weight when weighing. It was 105 degrees and I just wanted to get into my car. Cooling off with an ice treat from the vendor. Took my daughter to play bean bag toss and some big guy walked by and told us our 5yr old daughter couldn't play because she wasn't old enough. No signs posted anywhere. Strike 3. Same guy doing wheelies on his ATV in parking area while families were walking to and from their cars. WE ARE NEVER COMING BACK. read more

Cherries were sweet depending which trees you found. They have a wire holding the trees in line so look before going through the trees. 2024 it's $4/lbs. They have buckets and bag it for you. They take cash and credit card. It's not tall so you won't get shades from the trees. read more

Very Pleasant Experience $4/lb. All you can eat while you are there. So many cherries. Mainly Bing.

The customer service at this place is the worst. They have a weird requirement that you have to park your car in their parking lot or else you aren't allowed to enter. So avoid drop off or Uber outside their parking area. You basically can't walk in and do cherry picking. Recommend going to other places. Very unpleasant experience. read more

Best big yummy sweet cherries!! Excellent customer service , very organized , huge parking lot, clean farm and they have picnic tables. First come first serve on the picnic tables. Sadly, I've seen people not respecting the cherry trees , pulling branches , stepping on branches and picking a bucket full and then leaving them My mother n law has seen a couple of buckets full with cherries that were left behind. Definitely one of my favorite cherry orchards to visit during cherry picking season! They have all kinds of cherries here but my favorite are the rainier ones! There is a huge dirt parking lot to accommodate all the visitors. They had portable toilets out front as well as hand washing stations. You have to sign a waiver prior to entering the orchard. They provide the buckets for you to use when picking. My family definitely had a blast this past cherry season picking here! We spent hours picking many pounds! We brought our own ladder so that we could reach the cherries at the top! The cherries were $3.50/pound and they only accepted cash! read more

Came here after picking Mulberries next door. It was so much fun and there were plenty of cherries! I got home washed them and was so blown away how big and sweet they are! I refrigerate them and serve them as dessert and it's perfect for a summer treat! I should have picked more than 9lbs! Amazing cherries! read more

We wanted to pick some cherries before they were all gone so we headed out on the Sunday of Memorial day weekend. We got a late start so it was quite hot. We stopped at one farm (Chavez U-Pick) that looked fairly busy. We were hastily rushed through the sign in process and not given and advice or direction where to go. We headed a ways into the orchard, walked about 6 rows and had 7 cherries total. They were totally picked over unless you were 8 feet tall and could reach the tops of the trees. No ladders provided, no assistance, etc. We left there as fast as possible as it was a total waste of time! We headed down the road a bit and found Papa's U-Pick off a side road (Hoffman, I think?) What a total GEM!!!! By now, it was 4:15 and they closed at 5 so we were the only ones checking in and we could hear a few others out in the orchard. We had friendly service going in and filled out the liability form and were given bags to use. Within a few rows, we saw so many cherries just covering the trees! Score!!! The cherries were easy to reach and perfectly ripe! And SOOOO delicious! Within 30 minutes, we had a good amount and went to pay. We had over 6 pounds picked in a half hour! Super nice staff at checkout too and we were VERY happy with this place and will return again soon for more super sweet and yummy cherries! read more

Cherries were great. Customer service was not good not at all. African American man was so very rude. This was our first time we had questions he seemed like he not want to be there. Did not look us in the eyes he could not hand the clip board instead tossed to us. While exiting orchard going to pay he was on phone mocking an Indian accent. My family along with all The others around us heard him. We will never come back he was racist to my people. A shame to have someone like that working. The other man in red hat was so very pleasant though and apologized for him. read more

Went there on 5/24/20, got there about 12:30 pm, arrived and saw a long car line of about 15 cars waiting to get into the parking lot, line went by pretty quick about less than 5 minutes, got out of the car went straight to the check-in table(just a group of 5 people ahead of us 1 min wait) to sign a paper for 3 of us to cherry-pick. There were two staff helping check-in people and making sure we wear and bring our own mask. There was not much waiting in line, staff gave us alcohol on our hands then we went ahead and grabbed provided plastic bags to cherry-pick. Place was 95 degrees at that time and expected to get past 100 degrees the next few days so go suggest going there early as it does get hot throughout the day. The farm itself was pretty nice and wide enough as everyone were pretty distancing from each other. Spent about 2 hours picking cherries and got a total of about 15 lbs of cherries. After we were done, went to weigh our prize and pay for them. There were plenty of porter potties with alcohol stations after. read more
