This Marshall's has way too much inventory and is in violation of egress fire codes and ADA compliance. The isles for the customers are NOT ADA compliant and barely wide enough for a human to walk through. This Marshall's is the lesser of the two closest to me. It's not quite as big and even less organized. I'm guessing they don't have an opportunity to recover after crowds of people come which I get, but all the sections look like the need some TLC. Outside of this, it's all the goodness inside you can expect from Marshalls. Food items, kitchen supplies and clothes, but because it isn't as big or organized or even nicely laid out it just falls short. Like other Marshall's and stores similar to it, they suffer from this long line rule which is already bad, but because this Marshall's is already a bit rough venturing through, it makes the line even worse here. We were in town visiting before heading out via the airport. Had an extra day and decided we needed a new suitcase, so we called ahead at 8:30pm asking if they had any in stock. They said yes- and I asked what time they closed. They said "9:30". I said great! We show up at 9:10 PM only to find the doors closed. Located in the Franklin Square Plaza this Marshalls is next to Shoprite. Employees very friendly and pleasant. Opened right on time, there was already a crowd waiting, it's a popular location. Bathrooms only ok. Could not get paper towel out of machine to dry hands because it was not set up correctly. Checkout took a long time because there was only one open. Loosing a star from my 3 star chain default because the restrooms were not great and the unexpected wait time to checkout. read more

Loving the short lines on a Sunday afternoon, very good compared to the other locations. abut here's the kicker, the locations is tiny compare to most, which then makes you realize why the lines are so short. Marshall's has great finds if you are willing to dig for them. I have picked up everything from a travel case for toiletries, pillows, sheets, an ottoman, table for my sun porch, and a t-shirt - ALL FOR LESS than $25. Everyone that works here is incredibly nice and willing to help you. My only complaint is that the store is sometimes untidy. For example, once I pulled out something and an umbrella unexpectedly came out and fell on my foot. Ouch. Otherwise, this store is a gem. read more

Honestly I saw the shitty reviews for this store being unorganized and the line being ridiculous and I thought "ahh how bad could it be?" It's actually pretty bad. It really is extremely organized. Reviewers blame the store for the messiness but it's the customers that mess up the store. I see adults go through racks pulling clothes down from the hangers and leave them on the floor. They leave things they don't want anywhere in the store or in the check out line area. The kids are running around without parent control. I have been in the store right after it was organized and it was a decent place to shop. This location suffers mostly from disrespectful customers but they could use more floor staff. I usually find what I desire but do wish they carried more professional work clothing for women. read more

I think this location is okay. You can find some good deals but you may have to dig around for them. I recently got a pair of ankle boots that had been marked down and my boyfriend likes to get ties here because they have name brand that has been marked down in price as well. Sometimes if we come and I realize we need something small for the kitchen like a pizza cutter, you'll get a better price here than going to Target. It's pretty much always crowded, but in my experience the line moves pretty quickly. The line (which is more bank style than individual lines like at Target/Walmart/etc) sometimes has some interesting impulse items that are worth picking up. So this isn't going to be as nice and organized as Target or Kohls and I rarely see anyone working on the floor, but sometimes it's still worth it to stumble onto a nicely priced item. read more

The store is currently aboard the Struggle Bus. You find some steals and unique gems at time. But lord have mercy, be prepared to spend a thousand years waiting online, while babies scream and cry, and children run back forth. Since Marshalls and Tj Maxx fall under the same parent company, I expect to get a similar experience. The long lines, screaming kids, and messy aisles. That being said, this specific location is just blah. Every now and then, you may find random & fun finds. For my fellow pet enthusiast, their pet section is rather scarce and disappointing. Also the carts are either filthy, jammed up, missing wheels, or all of the above. Hahahaha!!! I suggest you get there early or mid day if you would like to avoid the 20- 25 min wait on the lines. This is the worst Marshall's in Northern NJ. The store isn't ever fully stocked and always feels as if you've just come after a major sale and before new shipment is placed on the sales floor. Empty shelves, racks of clothing, accessories, etc. in disarray... Just not a pleasurable experience and more stressful than enjoyable. read more

I come here as my last resort for any last minute shopping for home décor, bath accessories and even for some casual clothing shopping. What frustrates me the most about this specific location, there is always a line !! They need employees with a sense of urgency to get people in and out of the store. I do not like to request a price check when I am at the register because it takes forever for the individual to come back. I do not like the mass amount of people at this location- it is overwhelming to shop around. To say this place is a shithole is an understatement. There is stuff all over the place it looks like a little kids bedroom threw up. The line is literally halfway around the store and the employees are working nice and slowly. The place is absolutely picked over and any items that should be in boxes are either already opened or just missing. Things are mislabeled with the incorrect sizes and the selection is just overall pretty poor. Marshall's is a great designer discount store where you can find great brand names for a fraction of the price. All Marshall's stores vary with the things they carry (some are better than others) but they all carry the same brands. They also have household appliances, gourmet food, and great decor. The best part of Marshall's is that they have a clearance section with an even deeper discount. My only gripe is that each Marshall's I visit, it is always messy. If you don't mind digging for items, then disregard this complaint. Overall, this is one of my fave places to shop because it has everything in one spot! read more

So unbelievably unorganized here!!! I spent almost 40 minutes trying to find a corresponding shoe that was on display. Staff was no help.

I've been going to this Marshall's for more than 7 years but in the last few years the employees there have made this location very uncomfortable to me. It seems that they love to follow me around the store every time I am there. I always spend a few hundred dollars there, mainly because I like the selection in clothing and bed sheets. I always come here because it's close to my home. However I might have to chose a new location to frequent. I find it odd that the same person folding cloths in the area that I am looking for an item is the same person that is available when i make it to the top of the check out line. I do not recommend this location to anyone I know and I will make sure that me and my wife stop coming here. It's a shame since I live in Bloomfield and it's so close to home but I like to feel comfortable when I am spending money. Whoever is the head of the lost & provention department should look for a new job because they are Wasting valuable time and energy/resources following me around the store when I am a paying customer. read more
