We ask to see the mixed males they where 49 a dozen. The only down side was the mixed male crab was already cooked and was cold. This made me believe the crabs are cooked in advance then heated when you order. They don't take call in orders. I gave 4 stars because my crabs where tasty.

The crabs were fresh, as I was literally waiting for them to come in from the fisherman in the morning., and waited outside for them to be cooked. The crabs were sweet and stuffed. We loved them! This is a pick up spot, they do not have dine in. I would call in the order as early as you can when they open. I'm sure they run out at some point.

Buying live crabs for the first time as a newcomer to Maryland I was intimidated by the prices at…read moresome of the markets in the area. I made calls to a couple places near Annapolis listed on the state Department of Agriculture's seafood Web site and was fortunate to find Maryland Crab & Oyster. It's off the beaten path on a farm just south of Edgewater, but well worth a visit for the price, quality and service. The guy running it, Warren, gets his product from Crisfield on the Eastern Shore. He was very generous in packing as many crabs as he could into the bushel basket, and brought me back to the storage shed while he sorted them out. It was only $150 for a bushel of No. 1s -- about $50 less than what some of the markets were charging. It kept our crowd of about 30 people happy and well-fed with enough left over to make crab cakes for 10 the next day. He can steam them for you, too, and there are even a few tables in the yard, so he was letting a few customers have a crab feast right there.

The young lady cashiering this time around had no remorse or explanation but a "NO" just military or the coupon. If you're okay with this type of customer service and can over look it plus this place being a bit $$$ definitely try their steam crabs and fish they got here. Customer Service definitely needs work. We were able to select a mix and match half dozen of their mostly local brews, which our lovely shopkeeper was able to put together with transferable can clips into one unit. There appears to be other things for sale in the way of snacks and light lunches, but we didn't pay much attention to them. We knew we would be stuffed with Maryland Blues, chowder and key lime pie that night and were saving our appetites until then. It was cool to buy our night's beverages in a shop that might have been selling grog and heavy ales for the last 250 years!
